When their website says they offer "easy access to Squaw Valley USA's 31 ski lifts," they mean it. We first thought the place would be within a few minutes of driving to Squaw, but this place was next door. In that sense, it was soooo convenient. No having to deal with traffic getting into Squaw and none when we were done with the slopes.

This place definitely feels like an "inn" -- cozy, cute with lots of excessively upholstered furniture, patterned wallpaper, etc. Everything's a little bit smaller too.. so if you're in a large group, you might not be so comfortable.

A few need-to-knows:
1. Anyone taller than 5'10" is going to have a hard time taking a shower since the shower head was just a little lower than normal.
2. This place is a timeshare.
3. They offer the bare minimum of toiletries (soap, shampoo and lotion).
4. Everything important worked: the thermostat/heater, hot water, hair dryer, microwave (pretty much anything that could warm us up after being in 15 degree weather).
5. If you're paying the full price for this place, ($200+/night) it's not worth it. But if you get a ridiculously awesome deal like we did ($65/night), it's well worth it if you're going to Squaw.

The one bad downside.. if you like to go "buffet"-ing (i.e. Harrah's) after a long day of hitting the slopes, or anything else outside the Squaw area, you'll have to drive about an hour in the pitch black, around the windy mountain roads to make it to So. Lake Tahoe. Make sure your driver isn't sleepy.

OK my husband & I stayed here courtesey of my in-law's who own a time share here.  they bought it in the 70's.  Well I don't think the room has been updated since then. It's a weird room, at least upstairs where we stayed.  You walk into the bedroom, then there is the tiny bathroom, you walk throught the bathroom to get to the tiny living room/kitchenette. WEIRD floor plan! The people who work here are really nice.  They keep the place clean and they offer FREE snowshoes. Snowshoeing is totally fun and there are some great trails right behind the Inn. Squaw Valley is just a walk across the parking lot.  So the location can't be beat.  But if you want to go anywhere you have to drive, which is a drag considering how much gas is these days!
