Napa Valley is well-known for wine tasting but there's so much more to appreciate in the Wine Country other than wine.
You can get premium BALSAMIC VINEGAR, well-crafted CANDLES and LAVENDER products. Napa Valley is also a great place for savoring FINE OLIVE OIL as well.
My BF and I went for a stroll in the cute town of St. Helena when we stumbled upon Olivier Napa Valley. We were soon lost in the vast choices of exotic dipping oil, balsamic vinegar and combination of both.
Talk about combos of fig-bleu cheese-balsamic and EVOO, or chili oil, garlic infused oil. ($12.95 per bottle of dipping oils). The staff even asked me to "drink" a sample of balsamic vinegar. I was like, "Um, I love balsamic but not to drink it." She saw my expression and said, "Trust me. It's sweet." And oh my, it was sweet and it was fine!
She is very friendly showed us the vats of Olive Oil that you can pour in a bottle yourself for $18. I chose the "Mission" which was buttery and can be used in the place of butter. She was right--this EVOO has a clean taste, light and smooth like butter. http://www.yelp.com/bi...
I usually stock up on wine when I go to the Wine Country. This trip I ended up stocking up on balsamic vinegar and EVOO between Olivier and Dean and Deluca.
I ended up with these: http://www.yelp.com/bi...
1) Mission Olive Oil
2) Blue Cheese MIssion Fig Olive Oil
3) Toasted Garlic Olive Oil
4) 25 year Barrell-Aged Balsamic Vinegar
5) Another Mission EVOO
If you love to cook or just love olive oil and balsamic dipping sauces, this is the place for you when in the Wine Country! Great as presents as well!

This place is located on the main drag of St. Helena and has good olive oil and Balsamic vinegar. The price was reasonable for premium oil and vinegar. You can taste the different types of oil and vinegar and can buy them in bulk (18 dollars for a jar you fill up yourself).
A lot of the premium olive oil stores I've been to seem to have oils that taste bitter & grassy, but this place has oils that have a sweeter, floral or nutty finish.
I ended up buying a bottle of the Arbequina olive oil as I liked the nice nutty finish. I also liked their local balsamic vinegars, especially the 25 YR old bottle, which was nicely sweet as it's aged. For $14, it was a bargain, so I bought a bottle. And I checked, no sugar or sweetener added (which is often an additive to enhance the sweetness).
Nice boutique store, good selection and helpful employees. I'll be back again to fill up on my oil and vinegar.

Eugy and I both LOVE olive oils and dipping oils and the like, so of course we had to stop by this place when we were on our weekend Napa trip. Olivier is AWESOME! You can taste EVERYTHING, which really helps when trying to decide between oils and spreads.
We went for the white truffle artichoke parmesan spread, the most wonderful balsamic vinegar that I have EVER TRIED IN MY LIFE and a handheld thumb operated pepper grinder.
The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable and in downtown St. Helena, this is about the only place open after 6pm.

You've done the wine tasting, now do the olive oil tasting!
I love dipping bread in olive oil with a little parmesan and freshly ground pepper! Yum. But I thought all there was to olive oil was virgin and extra virgin. No, no. There's a whole store dedicated to the magical olive and endless dipping possibilities. At Olivier, you can sample flavored oils, a myriad of tapenades, dips, vinegars, and mustards. My favorite tapenade was the Portobello Sun-Dried Tomato, but the Lime Chile Mustard was off the chain! I bought a bunch of them after I realized that consuming multiple samples was probably tacky. Altogether, a wonderful shop.
Tips: Tapenades make great gifts. You can order Olivier online or visit your local Williams-Sonoma, which won't have exactly the same products.

Nice store along Main St., where one can sample different types of olive oils, balsamic vinegars, mustards, and dipping sauces. Sales persons are friendly as well. Bought some dipping oils, and gave them away as gifts. This place isworth a stop if strolling along Main St. in St. Helena.

I REALLY liked this place. It is a nice diversion to do some olive oil tasting after a day filled with vino. This one gets the vote as my fav for olive oil. It is not pretentious and the V.S.O.P balsamic vinegar is AMAZING. I managed to get some home in my luggage but I am already running low. Luckily, they have a website so I can order more.

pretty swanky boutique in st. helena that i happened upon the other day. it has great infused olive oils (done in-house), beautiful olive-wood utensils, lots of kitchenware and (the clincher) great vats of olive oil that they'll pour into gorgeous green glass bottles with real corks and sell for a total steal ($15 for 500ml). of course you can taste everything and their oils are pretty damn awesome. i found out that they don't actually make the olive oil despite doing their own infusions... if they actually made the olive oil itself i'd give em 5 stars, otherwise it's a hearty 4.5 stars for olivier.
