I must say, I was entirely disappointed by Todd English's satellite location at the St. Regis. I've been to Olives in the W Hotel in Union Square in NYC and it was far superior to the Aspen location. The food was, well-- forgettable. It was no different than a meal you would get at a sub-par hotel restaurant, as opposed to what you would expect at a hotel the caliber of the St. Regis. After Olives in NYC, it was a huge disappointment to dine at the Aspen location-- the cost, quality and presentation of the meal left much to be desired. The fact that it is the primary hotel restaurant (breakfast was no better) may be weighing this Olives restaurant down-- the food was no better than what you expect from hotel catering / room service. I suppose it's okay if that's what you're expecting; However with that price tag, and based on previous Todd English experience,s I expected a lot more.

Olives Aspen in the St Regis hotel is easily the worst fine dining restaurant in Aspen.

Start to finish our dining experience was entirely unacceptable.  From the hostess who had trouble finding our reservation, to the intermittent service at the table, to the inexplicable delay in delivering our check at the end of the meal.  By far, however, the worst part of our experience at Olives Aspen was the food.  At its best, the food at Olives was on par with a low end, chain restaurant.  Our two fish dishes, however, were tough, chewy, smelled fishy, tasted awful, and we didn't finish either of them.

Aspen is a diner's paradise.  Enjoy your stay in Aspen by staying away from Olives Aspen.

Todd English's delicious outpost, Olives. I always eat here at the Bellagio in Vegas and at the W in NYC. The flat breads are what my mouth is watering for right now.... Enjoy!
