If there wasn't enough reasons to go to Newport Beach, here's yet another reason - Olive Oil ad Beyond.  I was out for a stroll along Balboa Island, when I saw this place and signs of "Organic Oils" on the window.  Now being Mr. Organic for the most part, I was naturally inclined to gravitate towards this place! I wasn't disappointed.

I had no clue the variety of olive oils and vinegars that were available from around the world.  The active health properties was very educational.  Trying a variety of mixtures and flavors had my taste buds and stomach yearning for some of these bottles to be taken home.  Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely know how to sell as I bought a few bottles myself.  Pricey, but so worth it if you are a salad junkie or a cook.

Highly recommend both the Black Currant & Pear Balsamic Vinaigrettes, and the Australian Picquant.  Coming back here 100% as this is the only location until out there until their website is up and running (I was told this will be happening very soon).

As much as I love Orange County for the great weather, beautiful people and low crime rates, it is a culinary void on many levels, especially in the specialty food category. Olive Oil & Beyond is helping to bridge that gap.

The girlfriend, J, and I stopped into this wonderful little shop while waiting for the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade to start. As soon as we walked through the door my heart raced and it wasn't because the shopkeeper was a MILF (well that might have had a little something to do with it.) Lining both walls were dozens of stainless steel canisters filled with olive oils and balsamic vinegars from around the world.

Being that we were the only people in the store we received a lot of personal attention. The lovely shopkeeper offered us samples of her favorite oils and vinegars. She also knew a lot about the oils and answered all of my nerdy questions.

If you are a serious foodie and appreciate high quality food this is the place for you. You don't have to settle for the blended oils they try to sell you in the supermarket any longer. One taste and you will know why the products and Olive Oil and Beyond are worth every penny.

Olive Oil and Beyond is a fun idea cashing in on the recent resurgence of the home gourmand, and I do hope they succeed.

Walk into their shop and you'll find stainless steel pots lining either side of the store, all filled with unique infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Each pot has a spigot and much like a high end wine shop you are encouraged to sample the many flavors as the knowledgeable staff walk you through it's properties and offer ideas for pairings. If you like good food and experimentation then Olive Oil and Beyond is a great source for two solid base ingredients that you can build a great menu upon.

While their EVOO were all quite good, I'll be picking up a bottle when I finish off the of wolfskill I have now, I was most excited by their Balsamic vinegars. All appeared to be modena and there were many intriguing varieties. The prices were reasonable down right cheap considering what you'd pay for boutique ingredients at places like C&B.

We ended up buying a bottle of the tangerine balsamic vinegar, which tonight we used to make a dressing using dijon, evoo, pepper, and balsamic. We also made a balsamic reduction with frozen berries that was pretty much awesome atop french vanilla ice cream. Never thought of putting that balsamic vinegar on ice cream?.. Think again!

This is a new gourmet olive oil shop on Balboa Island.  What impressed me was the selection of various international olive oils and balsamic vinegars. All are in containers for tasting.   Prices are comparable to other speciality shops that carry gourmet olive oils but the selection here is far greater.  Service is excellent and helpful.  I am going back.  This is my new source for gourmet olive oil and balsamic vinegars.
