Every sunday me and my friends go out to dinner. We met at 8pm for a party of 6 and didnt get seated til an hour later. There were 2 parties ahead of us that had a about 10 or more and a bunch of small parties after us. WE were the LAST to be seated. It looked pretty embarassing. Their reason was "oh we are waiting for a round table" or "we are waiting for the people to pay" 10 min later, we were finally seated.
As the guy was walking us to the table, he had the balls to ask "so how is everyone doing this evening?" I gave him a look like "are u really going to ask that stupid question?" We made it pretty clear that we were pissed. No manager came out or anything to apologize. They ended up seating us at a table for 10. WOW some ROUND table. Servers really need to coordinate better.
After we were done, one of our friends went out to smoke. Olive garden LOCKED him out since it was passed 10. They didn't even let him back in. We had to have someone from our table to open the door since they wouldnt.
SO.. If you guys feel that you don't want to pay ur tab.. here is a tip for you: if its already after hours, just go and step outside. Its not like they are gonna let you back in since its after hours.
Disgusting? check!
Why god why? Ok maybe it was because we had a gift certificate. No matter how you cut it Olive Garden remains possibly one of the most non-Italian Italian restaurants out there.. but unlike other overly Americanized ones, this is also bad tasting, and added bonus!
I went at 3pm on a Sunday to this location.. It was packed out, so much so that I had to wait a good 25 minutes. I thought this was a good sign, since only good restaurants are crowded, but I was sadly mistaken. I had some mushroom appetizer for $7.00, but it was quite foul. There was a grand total of six small mushrooms, a complete rip off! Then I had some salad, which was equally as crappy. The tomatoes were not ripe, and it seemed that the dressing was either absent or very little to none, leaving my mouth dry and wanting to drink some of their badly done ice tea. Next came my main meal, some Toretteloni Beef dish... The beef tasted a bit off, as did the pasta. They claimed to use Asagio cheese, but it tasted more like cheap parmasean. The texture of the pasta was thick and seemed old, like it probably was frozen for quite some time before coming to my table... The beef itself was tender, but the flavor was unusual in a kind of odd way. I should have known something was afoul. The next day I suffered for it. It was a combination of Montezuma's revenge and Chinarheoa.. I was not happy, nor shall I return to this restaurant.
I apologize to any authentic Italian eateries in the area for doing the cuisine of your people a disservice by eating at this spot. Arrived at 9:20pm didn't get seated till 9:45
My complaints you ask?
1. Hard bread-sticks
2. Just as hard ravioli appetizers
3. Dry/heat lamp pasta
4. Doughy chicken dumpling soup
5. Sub par service (sorry staff, no matter how nice you are, refill a drink)
Here's a positive for ya; they were all happy to say thanks for coming and now get out
Hair in the already nasty manicotti. The breadsticks were good in an alfredo sauce dip. Caesar salad was fine. Our server was really nice, but I was a bit turned off when she had nothing to say/do about the hair in my meal. I won't be back, except maybe for the endless breadsticks. Oh, and the iced tea, that was really good.
Really? Is this place worth the hour or more wait you must endure most any night? I've come here 5 or 6 times at night but never stay (and won't even try any more) because the wait is always that long. I've eaten here a couple times for an early dinner (4pm) when the wait is more like 10 minutes. The service here is average to poor. The food is what it is but I do like their bottomless salad. My suggestion is to avoid this place and get something across the street at the Cerritos Mall.
Three strikes and you're out, Cerritos Olive Garden.
I've enjoyed going to Olive Gardens for years, with the exception of this location. Olive Garden might not be "authentic", but the food is always good, fair-priced, and consistent. But this particular location just doesn't have their act together.....
First Visit: A "30 minute wait" for a party of two turned to 45 minutes, and when I asked how much longer it would be, they said "sorry, it'll be another 20 minutes." 30 minutes later, we were finally seated. Ok, so maybe it was a bad night for them.
Second Visit: We were told a "45 minute wait" for a party of three. After an hour I asked where we were on the list, they said it would be another 30 minutes, but offered to seat us at a bar table right away, with the "same service". After taking our drink orders, handing us the regular menu, and coming back 15minutes later to take our order the waiter informs us "Oh, I'm sorry, I can only serve you appetizers, I'll get you a regular table". We would have just left, but we had a guest and didn't want to make a scene. 30 MORE minutes later we finally got a "regular" table.
Third (and final) Visit: We were told it would be 30-45 minute wait for a table for two, and decided to window-shop at the adjacent stores to pass the time. 30 minutes later the buzzer starts playing music, so we walk back to the restaurant to be seated. "Oh, um, we don't have a table for you." "Really? our buzzer went off." "Oh, you probably went out of range, now we have to re-set your buzzer." So, I handed her the buzzer. "Oh no, he has to do it for you" (motioning to another employee.) So, we waited in line to see this guy, and he "re-sets" the buzzer. 15 minutes later (a total of an hour) I ask the hostess how much longer the wait will be,and she tells us that she doesn't know, that we have to see this other employee again. I wait in line and ask him how much longer the wait will be, he asks my name, and points to his list, saying "oh, see, here you are." "That's great, but what's the wait? I've been here an hour and I was originally told 30-45 minutes." "Oh, uh, probably 30 minutes."
I followed my mother's advice: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." I placed the buzzer in front of him and we left.
We went next-door and ate at what turned out to be an EXCELLENT Peruvian restaurant........but that's another review....
Olive Garden yet again, cool by me.
15 minute wait during corporate lunch hour... figures.
Forgot to put in our appetizer... alright.
All you can eat bread sticks, salad, & soup... cool, but now at $7.95.
Bread sticks.... hard as a rock first batch, second batch was warm and soft.
Salad... like 2 tomato slices... tomato nazis.
Soup.... the chicken dumplings one was pretty good, and of course the minestrone was bomb.
I really never thought there would be a day I only give the OG one star, but that day is HERE! Let me preface this by saying, growing up I really loved the Olive Garden, even as an adult I have always still liked the Olive Garden. BUT the last couple times I have dined here things just have not been good. Last night was perhaps the last straw.
Rundown on experience without too many boring details:
*Service: One of our two waitress was awful (i.e. rude, aloof, detached, snide) while the other was at best pleasant. Why we had two I don't know (maybe they had to share the table of 6 adults 2 kids and that's what pissed the one off- I can't be sure?) But what I can be sure of is the fact that she was PISSED.
*The food: The salad: Staple: Still OK. The bread: Not good!! I was shocked!! It literally didn't taste good. Maybe it was b/c I had to wait 10+ minutes for the oil & vinegar and ask for it twice (big possibility.) Chicken Parmesan {groan} over fried, minimal mozzarella cheese on top, and really small amount of pasta for two chicken breasts. Jonathan's gnocchi was over cooked and chewy (wanted to send back but didn't.) Jonathan's Mom Debra's steak (ordered med. rare/rare) came out well done- sent back....could go on, will not.
Dessert: Only ordered because we are celebrating Jonathan's cousin Kyle's birthday (big 11.) Him and his brother ordered off the kids menu for dinner, drinks off the kids menu, then for dessert ordered a milk shake each. One came with a candle- we sang...it was nice. Bill comes and the waitress charged for two adult shakes at $4.99 each. Keep in mind there are shakes on the kids menu at $1.99, but she gave them adult shakes. I'm not one to gripe over six dollars, it's not like I'm even paying- but that is ridiculous. What a greedy server. I mean really, what is the 18% auto. grat. even come out to on $6.00?
This was a really, really bad experience. I guess with the OG you never know what you are going to get. In my opinion- it's not worth the risk. I would bet that you could find better food, in a better atmosphere, at the same or even better price (it's not that inexpensive!) in your neighborhood! Isn't this what yelp is for? Finding the better alternative...in Long Beach, Cafe La Strada is definitely your better alternative!!
Additional Tips: Olive Garden Edition:
Good For: Nothing
Price Range: Too much
Parking: At this location very difficult. Bring aspirin.
Good For Groups: Yes. But only if you want attitude for days and to be over charged in the quest to heighten you bill that will undoubtedly inc. 18% gratuity weather you like it or not.
Good for kids: Yes. Seriously. Even if yours are rotten (ie: screamers, runners, criers, etc.) they probably won't be noticed as this is the norm.
Waiter Service: See above review.
Alcohol: Yes. Best to drink while dining here, may enhance experience (can't be sure, haven't tried.)
Olive Garden Italian Restaurant? I guess menu-wise they serve Italian style food. However, authentic Italian style food? I think not. This place is always busy. Unless you plan on waiting an hour minimum for a table make sure you get here early or avoid dinner rush.
They have basic Italian food such as Spaghetti and Fettuccine and occasionally they're seasonal specials. Entrees here can be a hit or a miss. I guess it depends on who is cooking that day.
Came here for lunch with my brother yesterday and had a good experience. I am not a big fan of this chain, i prefer to go to the local mom and pop Italian restaurants but was in the mood for some soup and salad. Ordered the soup and salad combo and got some minestrone and and Zuppa Toscana soup, both were awesome. There salad is always good and the breadsticks were nice, soft and warm. Ordered a side of marinara as a dipping sauce for the breadsticks but was disappointed in it. There was nothing special about it. My brother got the the Four Cheese Mezzaluna with Sausage. I sampled his food and it was good, though it was heavy with sausage. Overall it was a good experience, nothing stuck out. The service was good, we were seated in 5 minutes so i can't complain about the wait time.
Fine. Italian. Dining.
The best (arguably) Cerritos has to offer.
It's a step up from the Downey Olive Garden (or OG, as some of you hip Yelpers like to call it). The wait at the Downey location is usually always awful.
//tangent begin: I once took a buzzer from the Downey OG. My friend and I were waiting around for nearly an hour and just got into our car and drove away, buzzer in hand. It started going off on the freeway (oh great, now our table is ready! No, we're just out of range! Keep going!). You might want to know that once you get in range of another Olive Garden, the buzzer eventually pipes down. //tangent end.
Yes, I like to go here for my All-I-Can-Eat breadsticks, soups, and salad. I also, most recently, had dinner here on my birthday. Yes, I know, only the best.
The waitress seemed nice and bubbly enough. She took our drink orders.
"May I take your wine glasses".
*shrug*
"You may." But secretly I'm thinking: "I guess so, since you didn't offer me any."
Fair enough, no big deal. I'm more than capable of asking for alcohol when I want it. Still, it's nice to be offered. I actually appreciate the up sell.
Ideally, it would have gone something like this:
"Would you like a glass of wine with your dinner? May I offer you a tasting?"
"Okay!"
Oh well.
So, special treat tonight! Not two, but THREE item sampler appetizer. It is a special occasion, after all. This trio of fried deliciousness is pretty fail safe. Fried zuccini, mozzarella, stuffed mushrooms, calamari...all very good. That night we were in a very calamari mood and doubled up. Also ordered the stuffed mushrooms and it was a win.
I usually go with the chicken alfredo or the chicken fettucini. Sometimes I feel bold and order the braised spare ribs in chianti. For adventure's sake, I ordered a new item on the menu. I like to live my newly classified age range "late 20's" on the edge. Something caught my eye! New! Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara!
Chicken and shrimp with bucatini pasta in a pancetta BACON....um, sold. My brother and his wife order salad. Score! I'd like soup please, the toscana. See what I did there? By ordering soup when the rest of my party ordered salad, I can have soup AND salad!
The toscana soup was delish, as per usual. Zesty sausage meat, hearty potatoes, something leafy (kale?). I quite enjoyed it. And also good for breadstick dipping. I even asked for a second bowl. I'm celebrating!
The Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara ended up just okay. I think I prefer the Alfredo or even the Seafood Portofino.
Overall, it was a good meal. I even escaped the staff-please-gather-around-and-sing-happy-birthday part. Thank god.
//tangent post script: I eventually drove the buzzer back to the Olive Garden in Downey. I swear I am a good person.
Went to try the never ending pasta since that's all I see on tv commercials.. I usually get good tasting dishes but I didn't like how they overflow your first bowl so your kinda full to try anything else? The different sauces was too plain for me. I'll stick to main dishes next time;)
Waiter was nice, looks like Mila from the 70's show hehe. Other than that I think the order is best for me when I was pregnant with a huge appetite & would eat anything. At least they let u box up all the left over plates you didn't finish unlike a buffet;)
This Olive Garden is very average. I've had some good experiences here but people I go here with usually don't have as good a time. Parking is a pain, as the parking lot is shared with many other restaurants and stores across the street from the Los Cerritos Center. There's usually a wait, but if you can waste time at the bar in the meantime.
Ironically, the bad stuff I've mentioned always happens to other people in my party rather than to myself. I always go with the safe bets, like chicken parmigiana or the fettuccine alfredo, but when my friends go more into the realm of things like sausages, horrible outcomes result. One particular instance, my friend actually got food poisoning eating a sausage here. I stuck with the safe bets aforementioned. I had a good time, my friend, not so much so.
You would think that food poisoning would deter you from coming here, but nay, I keep on coming here because I've yet to be personally hit by any bad service or food poisoning with the foods I order. You've heard of "defensive driving", well, I actively partake in "defensive eating". If people don't stray too far from safe bets, they wouldn't be yakking in my bathroom at 11 at night.
Yeah, I was disappointed with how much this place sucked so much pirate's booty. I am used to the Torrance location and it is often busy there as it is at this one but they actually have time to carry to your needs. My server came and went and I felt like we weren't being attended to at all. The guy was real stingy with giving us bread and salad, whats up with that man, two pieces of bread when I asked for a refill, geez.
The wine I tried was good, the food was okay, you can't enjoy good food if your not satisfied with the service...bleh. Don't come here for the service but only if you want some food....yea. Brace yourself!
Oh god. My experiences here weren't so pleasant. I unfortunately had to eat here again today because of my friends wanting soup and breadsticks.
Our waiting time wasn't too bad since we showed up for a early dinner. Our server was seriously horrible. Not only did he barely get our drinks refilled, he never asked us if we wanted some parmesan cheese for our soups. The 2nd time he gave us our soup, he had the freakin cheese grater and STILL DIDN'T ASK US. WTF!!! All my other servers automatically asked!!!
Another moment that really pissed me off was when a couple idiotic workers were moving a table for a large group and one of the sugar containers falls and hits my foot. The guy just stares at me and doesn't even apoligize! FUCK YOU ASSHOLE! is what I thought. God these people are a buncha pricks.
Besides the soup/breadsticks, I don't see the point in eating here. There's so many fatasses/loud obnoxious people here it makes your dining experience horrible. Overpriced lame food, always crowded, overrated restaurant.
Olive Garden, "When you're here, you're just another sucker for some craptacular food."
I would never eat here again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
If they had found an Iraqi Olive Garden, it'd be good enough reason for invasion. The food at this particular location clearly falls under the WMD category, though I'm not sure it 's organically based in any way. Someday I'm going to pre-emptively invade this place. I'm sure the waitstaff will great me as a liberator. It won't cost but a billion dollars, and take six months. I swear.
A while back, our little family went with our $50 gift card to the Cerritos Olive Garden, had some piss-poor salad, some pasta that tasted like ass, some meat that tasted like ass, and some bread that was probably good when it was baked, but had gone tough in the last billion years and now tasted like ass. The service was actually really good, and I felt bad for the young man who had to carry that shit around and pretend it was anything but ass. "Excuse me, sir, how was your serving of ass? Did you enjoy the ass tonight? Would you like me to box the leftover ass to take home?" Poor guy.
Don't nobody give us another Olive Garden gift card. I'll fucking kill you.
If you come on a weekend night, beware! The parking is hideous and the wait is even more hideous. The wait time was 45 mins to an hour. grrr
As you walk up to the restaurant, there's people waiting outside and inside for their party to be called for a table. They have different areas of the restaurant. There's an area for larger parties to the left and for all others, the other rooms to the right and in back.
The front lobby area of the restaurant has chairs, benches and tables for those who are waiting for their party/table. There also is a little bar area to the right of the lobby area.
When we got to our table, our waiter was really nice and attentive. Our food came out in a timely manner and he was able to answer questions we had about their menu items. Our salad/bread sticks came out and I'm a fan of their bread sticks. It's always nice and warm and soft. Their salad with italian dressing, i assume, is always good without overdoing the dressing.
I ordered their parmesan crusted tilapia that came with a side of angel hair pasta and veggies on top. The parmesan gave the fish a crispy crust and tasted great. After filling up on bread sticks and salad, the tilapia was light enough to not make me too full to finish my dish. The pasta on the other hand, was very fulfilling.
Left feeling like my belly was stretching outta my shirt just a tad bit. haha
Awww yes, the Palms Restaurant of Cerritos. A place to be seen at the city and as Vincent T. wrote in his review, a good place for people watching.
Going into this restaurant for dinner might required an early reservation or having people going there ahead of time for a table. For a large group, you can always expect a long wait as majority of the groups are families or for large business meetings.
Not much have changed since my high school days. It's still a pseudo Italian restaurant that dummied it down for normal American consumers. After tasting authentic Italian restaurants, this place's pasta sauce is too watery and over done on the pasta. The meat can be too hard and the complimentary bread sticks can be too greasy.
If you take away those factors, you still get a very hearty meal in a great setting. The ambiance of the place is very nice and soothing. The good thing about going to Cerritos's branch of Olive Garden over other Los Angele's Olive Garden is that the service is whole lot better and the people working here are more down to earth. It's a good appreciation of that and the with no snobbery involved.
My only concern about going here is that just as the previous reviewers pointed out that it's a long wait and that might attribute to the fact that three LONG BEACH reviewers are here at Cerritos. C'mon!! There's one in Torrance. Go there instead so that we can get to our tables faster.
But hey, this Olive Garden is better than Torrance and it might be a good call to come here instead for your faux Italian dinner.
3 and 3/4 for me. 2nd day back in California after my Kentucky Fried Trip, and 2nd day to a big chain eatery for lunch. I haven't eaten at an Olive Garden since... hmm... I'd have to say High School (and my diploma has had enough birthdays to get a driver's license now...) It was better than I remembered it. The breadsticks were hot, the bottomless salad was crisp, the service was attentive... The things that usually irk me about big chains didn't seem to apply this afternoon... plus I was starving. =)
We started with a Spinach Artichoke dip appetizer which was not great, but decent. For my main eats, I opted with a non-regular menu item which was "available for a limited time". Grilled Steak Caprese, which consists of grilled steak medallions drizzled with a balsamic glaze served over angel hair pasta with melted mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes in a butter garlic sauce. And they also serve my favorite Acqua Panna bottled water... Ah.... Sound good? It was. I finished it all, with loads of breadsticks and salad and waddled my way back to my office and battled the food coma demon for the next few hours before it was time to go home.
I am finally getting around to writing a review for this Olive Garden - hubby and I took Mom for dinner (actually, she took us, but we drove, to be precise). I had the bottomless salad and bread, and a glass of Pinot-Grigio/Chardonnay, my mom had cheese ravioli and salad, and Jamal had the Chianti-braised short ribs and risotto.
The good? The salad is always a treat for me, and since I am trying to eat so that my family and friends will see less of me by summer, it is also quite satisying. I did have a taste of my husband's ribs, and they were absolutely delicious - tender, and melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. (See the picture up top). The service is consistently good; the servers are cheerful and can take a good amount of kidding (courteousy of my husband); I will always champion a restaurant where the customer service training is evident, and at Olive Garden, the servers all seem to take customer service seriously. The restaurant has a pretty atrium setting, and intimate little areas around the center.
The not-so-good? The breadsticks were nice and hot, but a little tough on the outside, which was a little disappointing. My Pinot Grigio/Chardonnay had an absolute absence of flavor of any kind (oh, yes, I still drank it - but I would definitely not order it again).
A good solid Italian restaurant that is always a nice experience.
I agree with the review below me that Olive Garden is average. It's not the best Italian food out there, it's just okay. Big portions, so share.. good bread sticks as well. I've been meaning to try their Italian donuts, they look good! When I'm eating in the area, Olive Garden would probably be my last choice since there's other great places to eat (BJ's, CPK) around. It would probably be my last choice for Italian food overall. I Wouldn't go here on busy days either, cuz I know one time the wait was 3 hours!
Its not the best food but it is "Italian".
I mean the fakest Italian around but eh...
GO BREAD STICKS AND SALAD!!!
I only go around for that....ohhh and the smoked fondue.....yum
2 words...... NEVER AGAIN!!! I got the most basic of basic dishes which was a chicken fettuccine alfredo, and I think it was the worst pasta I've ever had. The sauce was disgusting and clumpy.... Ohhh dear.. just thinking about this place gives me chills.... YIKES!
I love this place!
so today i took my kid to chuck e cheese afterwards went to eat at the olive garden. i havent been there since i gave up meat so i ordered my usual zuppa tuscana and bread sticks. so my wonderful server bring out this wonderful smelling soup and piles on some grated cheese for me. as i was about to eat i yelled out OH NO! OH CRAP! THIS HAS MEAT IN IT!
so the server jumped he was like " um is it lent? are you muslim what is it?" i laughed so hard . i told him i just gave up meat (thanks to a peta video) he was so concerned he hurried and pulled it form in front of me and asked me if he could get me anyting else. so i asked if there was anything vegitarian friendly so he came back with a bowl of minestrone soup wich was excellent but had too many beans.
so once i was done with my soup he asked me if he could get me anything else and i told him a whole bunch of andes and he came back with 9 of em wich is a lot in comparison to 2.
thanks so much too bad i forgot your name!
they have chocolate martinis!!!! sooo goood!
SAVE YOUR MONEY & TiME, go somewhere else.
I've gone to atleast 3 Olive Gardens and this by far ruined all my respect towards this restaurant.
It's dirty and the hostess was incredibly rude to me and my guests. She rolled her eyes at me and made undervoice remarks when she was seating us after our 1 hour and 15 minutes wait!
I found it incredibly stupid of her to make us wait for that long when clearly they had no other guests to attend to while her & another host (who she probably has a crush on) continue to carry on with their meaningless conversation while me & my guests wait.
Carrying along the bad service came bad meals like completely undercooked steak and completely drowned and salty mussels!
For THAT price, I don't think I've gotten my money's worth!
The waitresses were siding with the hostess by completely ignoring our table and would take forever to re-fill our drinks.
Do yourself a favor and just stay away from this foul-employee-over-charging restaurant!
Came here for a President's Day lunch. Had no idea how crowded it would be. I guess everyone else thought it would be a good place to meet up for lunch on their day off, just like us.
We waited in the bar for our seat, drank a little lemonade, and were seated within 20 minutes.
The food was good (soup, salad, and breadsticks). The company was great. The ambience was lovely. We sat in this atrium-esque room with plenty of trees and sunlight. It was perfect.
Afterwards we headed on over to the Lazy-Boy Gallery. Hey, we didn't have to work and it was a good way to work off some of the lunch we ate before heading back home.
Decent place to eat. Not the best Italian food I've ever had, but not the worst either. If you like pasta and cheese, then this is the place for you. I really like the potato sausage soup, so their soup and salad deal isn't bad. I actually make this at home on my own though, so I don't come to eat it here that often. Downside, there is ALWAYS a line here. They are super packed all the time. It's quite crazy.
I'm in a wheelchair, recovering from a stroke. This visit was on a Wednesday, around 8:00pm.
There are two handicapped space, just to the left of the front doors, so access was easy. However, despite being midweek and well past normal dinnertime, the wait for two of us was still 25 minutes.
We were able to get a table before passing out from hunger. My friend had angelhair pasta with marinara sauce and I had the seafood alfredo. I would have ordered the seafood portofino, but it comes with clams and mussels in the shell and I'm kinda one-handed, due to the stroke.
We had the standard garden salad with breadsticks, topped with lots of freshly shredded mozzarella cheese. Our entrees arrived quickly and we ate it all up. It was very good and very filling.
Too bad I didn't save room for dessert. The tiramisu looked delicious and so did the gelato.
This Olive Garden in Cerritos is always packed. If you come any night after 6 p.m., you are bound for a at least 1 hour wait or maybe longer. I will write about one particular bad experience that makes me weary of this place. I went with a roommate from out of town staying in Cerritos. We decided to eat at Olive Garden because they had this deal for unlimited pasta, soup, and salad. The way it worked for the pasta is that you could choose any type of pasta, pasta sauce, and meat. When we got our food, my roommate got the food without meat. To our surprise, the food came back within 10 minutes. I had suspicion that meat could be cooked that quickly. To my suspicion, my roommate was throwing up massively due to Olive Garden's negligence in cooking the meat properly. He went to the doctor and was diagnosed with food poisoning.
First ever Olive Garden I've been too.. and my main course was actually the "Create a Sampler Italiano" from the appetizer selection.
Very good.... It was cheap and filling. Now I took a few pasta off my friends plate, and the pasta wasn't all that bad. But then again, this was years ago.
Almost every time I've gone here there was a wait on weekends. Even though I try to stay away, this might be my father's favorite non-Chinese restaurant so he tries to take me here on my birthday. I think I only like the breadsticks and salad. My mother always orders the soup to save money. The people watching sucks.
As far as Olive Gardens go, its just like every other one I've been to. Gets a little packed on weekends.
What the hell is the matter with me? It is for certain that menopause has kicked in with a vengeance because I ate the hell out of some Olive Garden. I never eat like there is no tomorrow but, I think I've reawakened some dormant taste buds now that I've put aside a few vices. Oh no, I didn't totally quit them, I'm waiting for them to like me again. I feasted on the 3 choice appetizers; chicken sticks, fried ravioli and fried zucchini. I tried a new wine because the name was cool. Shiraz Black Swan. Way cool. The cabernet, not the chardonnay. Only Holly and Vincent T could tell you if it was a wise choice, but I liked it. It would have been great with a few fruit slices in it like sangria. What? Oh yeah, that's the otha restaurant . The waitress carded two young ladies at the next table and I was a bit miffed that my friend and I weren't carded. Oh yeah--that menopause thing. I guess it shows! The new Asiago Chicken was totally succulent even though I've always questioned anything hidden under a bunch of cheese. My friend said the herb crusted salmon was delicious and she had some left over to take home. There is nothing new to say about the corporately identical never-ending salad and bread sticks. They're good, nuf said.
I ended up feeling like a total sow and had to unbutton my jeans as soon as I got in the car. Uuuugh I hate eating 'til I can't move. It's sooo uncomfortable. Plus I had to fart and couldn't because I had a passenger and well, that's just rude.
I was too uncomfortable to paint, so I kicked back and watched the Charlie Brown Halloween special. Damn...how long has this been showing every year? I watched when I was a kid, I watched it with my son and hopefully will watch it with my grandkids. I used to think Lucy was so mean. Now I see that she was just priming us little girls on how to deal with the dumb men that were sure to surface as we aged. You see what happened to Sally didn't ya? She believed in Linus' dumb ass dream until the end when she finally had to go off on his ass. You have to watch cartoons closely, they are written by adults, you know. Sally missed out on the tricks or treats AND the party and fun because she waited around on a stupid m'fucka. Yeah girls, can you say it hasn't happened to you? Go Lucy!!
I'm sorry, but Olive Garden food is just gross.....I know a lot of people like it, but I don't understand how they pass off charging that much money for untasty food. Go to East Side Marios instead, better food, less costly.
I don't know, man.. I just like Olive Garden. I think it's the salad. It's simple, always fresh, good dressing. I usually don't like a whole lot going on in my salads, so this works. Just don't come here with a headache. We walked in right after I developed a random brain ache. There's all kinds of clapping going on. I don't know anyone that comes to OG for their birthday, but it was a very popular celebration location last night. The place is busy and therefore loud. Plus clapping songs. Plus kids. Plus people drinking too much Sutter Home white wine. It's a lot to handle, even for an $8.95 never ending pasta bowl. The food isn't anything to write home about, but I don't go to OG to delight in their culinary accomplishments. I go because I want cheap noodles and am too lazy to look up where to eat on Yelp.
Our waitress was very attentive and talked to the Gentleman Friend like he was retarded. At the end of the meal she showed him how to sign the credit card slip. "Here is where you sign your name. And here you just put the total." -Which is funny. He speaks English, he doesn't drool, he ordered his own food and everything. Either way, she just assumed he was stupid. He thinks she was weird. I think she's very intuitive.
this location has the worst customer service. and that's why i gave it one star. if there was half a star, i would've given it that instead. i love OG food...and have been to several locations....and it's not like i've only been to this location once or twice...i've given this loc several chances and they've all been really bad...the waitress/es take forever for anything and are rude...and so are the people that seat you.
