You know, John P is right. So why did I give it four stars? Well, the Olive Garden here has some pretty good food (even if it's not REAL Italian) for a moderate price. Pasta dishes are nearly always piping hot- you have to blow on your food sometimes to cool it off. The servers are quick, come to your table multiple times, and you're able to get in and out in a decent amount of time (that is, if it's around lunchtime; expect a wait if you come in the evening). The atmosphere is almost always cheery and loud, so I suppose it's Italian-like in that light.
Until 4 PM they have the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks deal for 6.95$. I adore the salad and breadsticks so that rocks for me. They try to cater to those on a the low-carb or low-fat diet with options that are a fraction of their counterpart. Yeah, that's not very "European"...but it's Olive Garden (and it's America)!
This place is nearly always packed in the evenings, and the before-dinner bar draws a big crowd. There are several large tables that can seat big groups, and I've even been to a surprise birthday party at Olive Garden.
Overall: It's a great place to go if you just want good food, and not so much of a wonderful thing if you want authentic Italian.
Safe place to eat in Bakersfield. I would not go here, but it is the same as any other Olive Garden.
So impressed with this place! It was sat. night and expecting a LONg line which there was. I was hungry and little patience but we asked the mamager for some bread sticks to tie us over the wait which he graciously gave us with cheese sauce for free. He even asked us if we wanted anything to drink like tea!! (You just have to ask). So nice of him and told us that when we're here, we're family. The waiter was kind, food was hot and bread basket never ending. HIGHLY reccomend. Of corse it's nothing like going to Italy(been there) but it's fun to munch on carbs and sip nice wine at the Garden.
Olive Garden is to Italian what Sizzler is to steak.
Food = not so great. Staff = very nice and attentive. I didn't really like the food here, I took it home and gave it to my dad. The soup was pretty good though and so was the salad. I guess if you're in the mood for those two things, go for it. Although to be fair, it was probably just the dish I ordered because my boyfriend really liked his meal.
