If you're looking for the best tamales in town (and you're on the east side) Olgitas is where they're at. We always known it as "the tamale factory," but I'm sure they make great stuff other than handmade tamales.

Although, I might be a bit biased. My family has been coming here for literally generations. Ever since I can remember (three decades in my time), we always got two batches - one regular and one spicy - for Christmas breakfast when we're in town visiting my grandfather. In fact, I actually went to the molino for the first time with my mom to see what it's like. I was always told it was a  "tamale factory" so I always thought it'd be a ... well, a factory - with conveyor belts and hispanic Lucile Ball type ladies in hair nets. But no. It's your run-of-the-mill, San Antonio family-owned corner shop that's been around since the Alamo. The owners asked us where Jo Anne, my grandmother, was. We told them she passed away some years ago. Apparently they heard all about me. It was interesting to meet these strangers who know our family so well. Anyways, they looked to me to carry on the tradition of getting the tamales every Christmas.
