Wow.  AMAZING pizza.  After eating it, I feel like I need to go back and drop all the other pizza places down a star.  Would you be surprised to learn I ate the Meat Eaters pizza?  Yes, it's a thin crust pizza, but it certainly doesn't feel that way.  Massive amounts of hearty meat on the pizza, so you can get filled up quick.

It's also a great value - $16.95 for a 14" pizza that could easily feed 2 very hungry gladiators or 3 mere mortals.

Sauce was a pleasant surprise, and the crust had a great crunch to it.  Now I just need some friends in Inver Grove Heights...

This review is for the lunch buffet.

Even though we work in Minneapolis some coworkers and I made the trip to Old World. One of my coworkers really likes the place so he convinced us to take a longer lunch.

We arrived about 12:15, the parking was a gong show, so I assumed it would be busy. I was correct. We got in line and waited only 6 minutes for a table. As we were walking to the table I noticed how full it was. I was expecting another gong show at the buffet. I was wrong. They kept the pizza well stocked, I never waited for anything. The people at the buffet were nice and orderly. Great experience. The pizza was delicious as always.

Our server was on top of it too. We always had full glasses.

Another great lunch. I will definitely be back.

I normally can't stand pizza buffets, but this is one I not only go to, but recommend.  They always keep the fresh pizza (and lots of different varieties) coming, and it tastes very good.  The sauce has a little kick to it, and there is usually the perfect amount of toppings.
They now not only offer the buffet during lunch, but at dinner on Monday and Tuesday nights.  It's not expensive at all, and the waitstaff comes around to clean away dishes, chat, and fill drinks at a very respectable pace.
I'm kind of sad that I no longer am close by during the weekdays to hit their buffet for lunch a couple times a month, but I'm sure my old coworkers are still going strong :)
Glad to have you in Inver Grove, Old World!

My family and I have been going here since they opened a few years ago. This is an AAA+ pizza buffet that offers a variety of hot and delicious pizzas, pasta, and a full salad bar. The chocolate chip dessert pizza is to die for! My grandkids love the macaroni and cheese pizza. They are very willing to make a pizza on request if it isn't already out.  Friendly and efficient staff. Nice atmosphere. GREAT VALUE!!

When we decide on pizza there is no doubt where it will be coming from.

I grew up eating Pizza Factory at 5th Avenue Plaza but it's not just nostalgia that keeps me coming back.  The sauce is really special, nice and thick with a good spicy kick.  Sausage is a family favorite that always gets rave reviews. I like to add mushrooms and onions to my half.

One variety I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews is the BLT pizza. If you like bacon (and who doesn't?!?) you should give this pie a try.  It's a thicker crust with a plain cheese and bacon base.  When it comes out of the oven they layer on shredded lettuce and diced tomato. There's some kind of mayo sauce on it too but I'm not sure when or how they add it.

I always order way too much... Gotta have those leftovers the next morning.

Cheeseburger pizza is the bomb!  pickles on a pizza never tasted so good!
this place loads on the toppings, extra-cheese is a standard, and it's the melty/chewy/yummy kind of cheese too!  Sauce is generously doused on each pie as well.
Excellent piping hot and just as excellent chilled, straight from the fridge the next morning.

OH YEAH!! As soon as it hit your lips, taste so good!! - Frank The Tank

Top 5 pizza places in the city. Great cheese, sauce(little kick) and crust. You know it's good when you have trouble finding a parking spot during lunch or dinner.

Also, I frequent the lunch buffet often, one of the better buffets around, cheap too!!

The Pizza was excellent!  I was surprised as to how filling it was.  They piled quite a few toppings on so their large (14" I think).  It actually would have fed our family of 4.  We took lots home and enjoyed the next day.  Nice family atmosphere.

They didn't have a very good beer selection though.  After hearing what was on tap and what was available in the bottle I decided to pass on the beer altogether.

We recently tried their Cheeseburger Pizza and their Meat Eaters Pizza and they were both EXCELLENT! The cheeseburger pizza has Beef, Dill Pickles and onions smothered with melted mozzarella and it was soooo good. And the Meat Eaters was so good too - Homemade sausage, bacon bits, pepperoni and Canadian Bacon - I just drooled on my keyboard thinking about all the yummy meat goodness.

We used to order in a "Build your own" fashion - but I think we will be working our way through their specialty menu now that we know the amazing combinations they have created. Ho Yeah!

    Best Pizza EVER!

Once again, I had a wonderful pizza from Old World.  This pizza never disappoints.  We've been eating this pizza since it was in the old location and called Pizza Factory.  Delivery is quick and the pizza hot.

The pizza is thin crispy crust and has the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce.  I've tried other pizza places in the Twin Cities and I always measure pizza by the Old World standard.

The new (not all that new though) jazzy location offers a pizza buffet for lunch and Monday and Tuesday nights for dinner.

This pizza cannot be beat!  I've turned many a friends into Old World Pizza lovers.

    Nothing more to say.

Really good pizza, but if you have kid's that don't like things even a little bit spicy, just be careful.  Their sauce is really good and tasty but spicy (at least from a kid's perspective).  Highly recommend this pizza.  It's great.  If you want VERY similar pizza with a good tasting sauce that isn't spicy, try Angelo's in South St. Paul.

But this pizza really is GOOD!

    Holy crap.

Let me tell you what's the greatest thing ever: Putting dill pickle slices on a pizza.  And that's what Old World Pizza has done.  They have a "Cheeseburger Pizza" which is ground beef, onions, and fat, juicy dill pickle slices smothered with mozzarella.  My god.  The sauce was extremely flavorful and kind of spicy (and may be one of the greatest pizza sauces I've ever had the pleasure of tasting).  The crust was pleasantly thin (and not cracker-thin) and sturdy.

I think that Old World Pizza just goes to show that you can get amazing pizza ANYWHERE--even in the suburbs of Minneapolis.  You don't need to be in Chicago or New York to get a flavorful, innovative, perfect pizza...you just need to find the right place.  And Old World is that place.

Seriously.  Pickles!  You should try it.

I adore this pizza. The feel of the restaurant is like Godfather's but, you know, not terrible. If you're there in time for the buffet, DO THE BUFFET. I used to take extra-long lunch breaks for this place. My acquaintances would have it delivered and, honestly, I used to think they were idiots with no taste due to their fetishization of crappy Chinese food. Then one day I had to choose between Old World and Applebee's. It became a part of my "Fuck Yeah, It's Friday" ritual, which would entail: Old World pizza; liquor store run (there's one in the same strip mall).

This place is a standard for a lot of local families. They have a good lunch buffet with lots of different kinds of pizza and a salad bar. The pizza is tasty. Crust has a nice crunch and the toppings are generous.

I ordered two pizzas from this place based on the amazing reviews here.  I'm dumbfounded...this was truly terrible pizza.  Some of the worst I've ever eaten.

Way too much cheese, overly spicy sauce, and the best way to describe the crust - tough.  It was actually hard to chew.

Old World Pizza offers great pizza and great value.

The buffet is the best way to experience what Old World has to offer because it gives you a chance to sample some of the offbeat toppings like pickles, sauerkraut, and mac and cheese.

I haven't had a bad pizza from this place.  The sauce is spicy, the topping are generous (maybe too much so - a large can last me three to four meals), and the ingredients are top notch (especially the cheese).

Service is great for dine-in; delivery is always prompt.

Best pizza in Inver Grove Heights.

A great place to take kids, friendly service, consistently good pizza.  Love their sauce, just a tad on the zesty side, but not over the top.  Try the Cheeseburger Pizza!

I've been going to old world ever since it was the old pizza factory on the border of SSP. This is some of the best pizza you will find in the metro. It's not really comparable to a place like punch, which is awesome by the way, because they are two different styles of pizza. If you want a full figured pizza this is the place. They introduced me to my new favorite topping, sauerkraut. It sounds weird but it's awesome. My standard pizza here is Canadian bacon, jalapenos, sauerkraut and pineapple on medium crust. I wouldn't suggest the buffet, the quality of the pizza is definitely not the same as if you were to order off the menu.

Old world pizza is a great pizza joint. While only some of their pizzas stick out as amazing (mac n' cheese, pepperoni, cheesy bread), everything is consistent and solid. Go for lunch and enjoy their cheap lunch buffet; it's the best deal in IGH! Stay away from the pasta, though (mediocre).

Good pizza and a fresh salad bar at a great value!  I got the buffet to experience a bunch of different pizzas and I enjoyed them very much.  I can't say it was the best pizza ever eaten, but still very good!  I like the spicy sauce.   My favorite part was the salad bar though - lots of toppings and everything was really fresh. The servers are constantly refilling everything at the buffet and salad bar, no scrapping the last bits of carrots at this place!!  Service was friendly and promt as well.  For sure check this place out!!

Formerly The Pizza Factory, it is just as good as I remember it with the same great  pizza and owners.  I scarfed down a lot of this deep dish delight at my great aunt's birthday for lunch and was stuffed well into the evening.  A crispy crust, fresh toppings, a zesty sauce, and just maybe a bit awall with the cheese which is nevertheless excellent.  The Hawaiian was wonderful with fresh chunks of pineapple and tender ham.  The "garbage" pizza was different with tender, greasy sausage, peppers, and the kicker,! sour crout; imagine that . for a pizza.!  The pepperoni was wondergful with pepperoni that was not terribly greasy.  The everything pizza was sublime with a generous hodgepodge of sausage, musshrooms, peppers, onions, and ham.  I cannot comment on the restaurant itself and service itself as we had it delivered to her nursing home.  So, for excellent pizza at rock bottom prices, Old World Pizza cannot be beat.  Keep up the good work guys.!
