A very pleasant surprise. Being from Cali, I am spoiled with excellent Mexican food. But I thought I would give it a try since it is within walking distance from my hotel, Courtyard.

I ordered a chicken enchilada dinner, with a margarita, both were excellent. Sp good in fact I am heading back over there tonight!

Yummy! Amazing salsa and vegetarian selections. Plus they are locally owned, bonus!

This place is one of my favorites. Service is great, food is awesome and they have buy one get one deals in the Coupon Clipper magazine. They are a bit pricier than some mexican restaurants in the area, maybe by a dollar or two but well worth it. They are never that busy so I'm always scared they're going to go out of business. They are in direct competition with a 3 Margaritas across the street though so they do well considering it's more well known. After having a wonderful meal on the patio we went to the bar for a few drinks. The bartender was really friendly and made us feel at home. I grew up in Southern California and feel that I know good mexican food and this is it! Try the crispy chili relleno or any of the burritos. Yummy!

The food here is consistently good. The waiters are well informed. You can order as much spice as you like - the dishes come mild unless you say something. There's never a wait. I've been here a few times. The only problem I have with the place is that the noise level can get a little out of hand and it's sometimes hard to get the waiter's attention to get your check.

I'd been wanting to try these guys out for months. The smell of their grill exhaust, as I sit at the red light at the intersection, is maddening. Finally, I made it in for lunch with my boss.

It was a warm day, so I was in the mood for a salad. But, you know, a man salad, with meat and stuff on it.  I ordered the Santa Fe Grilled Chicken Salad, I think (I forget what it was called, but it had tasty grilled chicken on top). Wash it down with an iced tea (was working, after all), and I walked away a happy man.

I introduced all my employees to this place because, well, because I wanted to eat here and I'm buyin'.

I used to get this enchilada dish with 3 enchiladas, 3 sauces, 3 fillings.  1 ranchera sauce, 1 mole sauce, 1 cream sauce.  Mmmm.

Consistent quality, good prices, good service.

this was the dinner stop before we went to before the movies... Neither one of us had been here or heard of it. service was efficient and nice. Did not have to wait to long for anything. The food was not very good at all. You know when chicken is dry while still covered in sauce? Yeah my chicken enchilada was that way. The Chili Relllllllano was pretty good. not amazing but pretty good. The Carne Asada Burrito was a surprise. The beans they use have a lot of different types of meat... like sausage bacon... something that tasted like and looked an awful lot like a hot dog... It was not very good.... We didn't like it... the waitress did take it off the bill so no biggie. left hungry .... :(

Easily the best Mexican food we've had in the Boulder/Denver area. In fact, it's the best Mexican food we've had anywhere outside of LA.

The salsa you get with the complimentary chips is great, spicy and flavorful. For our mains we had the chicken tortilla soup and their sizzling chicken & beef fajitas. I wasn't a fan of the soup but my wife loved it and it was for her. The fajitas were artfully delivered on a sizzling cooking plate with a wooden base, which really added to the experience. And the meat, oh my god. Bursting with Mexican flavor and extremely fresh.

The waiter service was courteous and expedient. There's plenty of space, and a nice interior. A great place to go before catching a movie at the cinema across the road. Can't wait to go again!

Old Sante Fe was so-so. This is your basic Tex-Mex. Not too spicy or flavorful, but not the worst Mexican I've ever had.

The beef flautas are not really worth it. The chicken fajitas were OK, but not really that flavorful. The guacamole also wasn't anything to write home about.

It's moderately priced, and they seem to have a good happy hour. The service was good, and our waiter was very friendly.

All in all, it's not bad, but there are better Mexican restaurants in Lafayette.

When the business first opened they were so-so in my book and I continued to go to my favorite Mexican place in Lafayette.  After they closed I decided these guys another chance and am so happy that I did!  I apparently got to them when they were getting the kinks worked out and those kinks indeed have been worked out!

    The food:
Great soft rellenos and chile con carne that I would shank a man to get more of.

We recently tried their breakfast menu for the first time and they have a wonderful selection of both Mexican breakfast dishes as well as traditional breakfast joint dishes like omelets, waffles, and pancakes.  We had both Mexican and American dishes and they were both very good, better than the IHOP or the Village Inn can muster up!

    The service:
I really like a place where I feel remembered.  When we get there one of the two regular waiters knows that we drink iced tea, knows we drink a lot of it and keeps our glasses full, and always asks us if we want the chile con carne!

    The location:
Luckily they are in walking distance (uphill and a little distance but I have to do something to work off happy hour!)

So we found this deal on a coupon site that gave a us discount off a restaurant site, that ultimately gave us a discount off the food at this restaurant.
The key was using the full of the coupon. We had to get a bill that exceeded 35$ that excluded alcohol. It was tricky as the prices here are actually really low. I could only find one meal over the ten buck line. Fajitas. So that is what we got. Ultimate fajitas, and dessert. Lets just say that we had a bunch of leftovers and were stuffed to goodness.
The fajitas came out sizzling with chicken, ribs, steak and shrimp. Tons of shrimp, chicken and steak were great and the ribs weren't too bad. It was a feast. We both ordered fruity margaritas, which turned out to be great smoothies, not so much on the alcohol side, I guess if that's your goal, fruity goodness without inebriation then YATZHEE.
The one lacky of a full fledged 5 star rating is the service. The waiter we had sorta disappeared for 20 or so minutes. Which was fine by me till we were ready to order dessert and head out.
Anyway, this place is really cheap and nice, but so far the service hasn't been great. Alas, I will return as the food was too good to pass up again.

I hate to do this but, I think it is only fair to spread the word....I ate hear a few years ago and decided I never needed to go back. I could have a better meal at Qdoba. So, I have not been in years, however, I did speak to someone who had recently eaten here...he shared with me the story of 2 different groups who had eaten here on the same day right around the holidays who ended up with food poisoning. The common element in everyone's meal was meat. So something that day was obviously not prepared correctly. I thought I should share this since it is something that is important to know when making your dining decisions.

This was okay Mexican. I got the Mexican sampler for $10.99. Taco, enchilada, burrito, and rice&beans. Their chips and salsa were tasty. Hubby got steak & eggs at 8pm on Friday so they are good in my book if hubby can find decent non-Mexican on the menu. I will go back!  I had two pretty decent Sex on the Beach cocktails as well.

Lunch today - started with tortilla chips and bean dip. Have never had a bean dip before as an app and was very surprised.  Very good appetizer. Moved on to tortilla soup and chicken quesadilla. Tons of meat in the soup and quesadilla - left feeling very full. Couldn't finish any one item as portions were very hefty. Bring your appetite!!! Would like to give a 3.5 but will round up to a 4 since I can say I will definitely be going back. Enjoy. . .
