10 reviews for Old Navy
I went in to look at skirts.
I walked out with: two sweaters, a sweater dress, a pair of jeans, and a skirt. (At least a skirt was on the list somewhere!)
It cost me: less than $150.
I won't comment on Old Navy as a whole because, honestly, what's the point?
*But* I really liked this store. It was easy to get to, well stocked, clean, and the employees were nice. Major props over the Cambridgeside store.
Not a huge fan of their clothes, but you sometimes luck out and find something you need/want here.
Also sometimes you find something along the lines of a gift for someone who has a dog or cat.
The clothes aren't the most durable but - you get what you pay for...
Yeah, I shop at Old Navy. What's it to ya?
I'm a college kid on a budget. As much as I'd love to be a designer label whore (and I kinda already am, when there's a huge sale and the money tree in my backyard decided to grow some greenery) and have beautiful couture clothing, I can't swing it. I need a sugar daddy.
So, when I need some clothes, one of my stops is Old Navy. Yesterday I came out with 3 button-down shirts (2 long sleeve, one short) and 2 skirts (one black superhigh waist vintage-esque pencil skirt and one charcoal gray superhigh waist vintage-esque pleated skirt--I need professional clothes for a fall internship). I brought 10 things into the dressing room and came out with 5. Yup, a good shopping day for me!
The store was surprisingly clean for a Saturday afternoon (it usually looks like a bomb has hit it), I waited in line for like 5 minutes to check out, and 2 of my shirts were on sale without me even knowing! Score!
Quality of the clothes isn't bad, sometimes their sizing is a bit strange (especially in their dress pants, I have to go up 2 sizes! WTF!), but they always have GREAT sales and good basics to throw an outfit together. Some of the stuff I question but if I question it, I don't even try it.
Yeah I was here, you probably saw me grabbing ten polo shirts when they were 97 cents each right? That's right so what! I also got some jeans for 10 bucks and a hat for like 3. With all the money I saved I went to Foxwoods and played craps all night until I had enough to buy my boat so now I save at Old Navy AND I'm a Captain in the New Craig Navy. Captain Cappy the pirate who saves. So judge if you want to but I look goooooood on my poop deck.
So bite me.
It's Old Navy. What's to say, really? Basic stuff, reasonably priced, that does NOT hold up after a few month's of laundering. But their clothes aren't meant to be worn that long, anyway. It's really a "disposable clothing" store. Hey, at least you will always have relatively updated clothes, since you'll have to replace them very frequently.
UPDATE: I've had an epiphany about Old Navy: Their clothes fall apart WAY TOO FAST. The collars stretch out and the clothes shrink horribly. They are simply the SHIT. They don't last well even after just a few launderings.
I am taking away two stars: They now have one star, so there!
I'm kind of embarassed to admit that I occasionally shop here, but they do have good deals on basics, like tank tops (2 for $15). Actually, that's all I really buy there. Tank tops and maybe some stuff to wear to bed.
Like everyone has already said, nothing holds up, so buy only 'disposable' type clothing here. If you are on the bigger side, you'll have a huge selection to choose from since they seem to only stock XL and up. I know that they have some smalls there, but they sell out quickly. What's even worse is that Old Navy is in on the whole vanity-sizing scam, so a small is more like a medium or occasionally even a large. Regardless, I still feel like an idiot trying on XXXS pants.
Old Navy may not be the coolest kid on the block, but they consistently offer cheap, cute, moderately durable clothes. I've been stocking my work wardrobe with Old Navy for quite some time now, and occasionally I'll see a shirt, hoodie, tank top or bag to snap up for after-hours wear. Plus, you can't beat their 2-for-$5 flip flops in virtually every color of the rainbow. They're also really good about returns, but that might also be because I'm anal-retentive and tend to keep receipts and tags of anything that is suspect. So to summarize, if you're looking for cutting-edge, hard-to-find gear, Old Navy is not the best place. However, if you're looking for affordable basics and the occasional cute trendy item, it's the place to go.
A very big old navy but never had my size... WHY????? Size seems to start from XL in this place...
I pass by this Old Navy at least four times a week, but I find myself going to Cambridge if I actually want to buy something. Why? This location is always packed with people and the clothes are never available in a decent size. My trip always goes like this: Ooo cute shirt, does it come in a small? Nope, we have L, XL and XXXL. Damn. I'll go to Cambridge and buy it there...
this is a rather big old navy, but it's often pretty picked through. they dont have jewelry either. but great for cheap basics, or really trendy items that you don't want to drop big ones on.
