My parents and I came here to celebrate my birthday. I personally chose Old Navy Bistro--partially--to see if it lives up to the hype.

Food: Honestly? The food was good, but it was certainly nothing to write home about. My clam chowder was perfect - neither too creamy nor too thick. My parents' French onion soups were very much enjoyable, and I didn't even mind the big glob of cheese that simply added to the overall fat content of the soup. On with the entrees... I found my Mediterranean Chicken to be rather bland, despite the enticing description on the menu. I could not distinguish the feta cream sauce from, well, your typical cream sauce. I'm not sure if the couscous were supposed to be as chewy as they were, but they were delicious so I'm not going to complain. My mom's pasta bolognese, while flavorful, could use a little bit more salt. The same applied to my dad's lemon caper chicken. I ended the meal with the complimentary birthday dessert: bread pudding. A tad on the chewy side once more but satisfactory overall. Again, good, but I've definitely had much better bread pudding at Martini in Columbus. Despite having said all that, I think I'll have to come back on a weekend to check out their brunch buffet.

Service: I'm not going to lie. Our server was polite, gracious... and pretty darn attractive. He had a million-watt smile which won the hearts of the much older ladies at the table next to us as they called him over and proceeded to grill him about his age and so forth. It was quite an amusing sight actually, and I couldn't help but chuckle as I saw the poor fella turn different shades of red.

Ambiance: Simply stunning. The view of the Maumee River (and the option of dining outside right by the river) makes this restaurant a great date spot, IMHO. People clearly come here to enjoy the river view and the atmosphere. Of course a stroll along the river is a must following your meal :)

Let's see... it was 4th of July, and we came to the docks to watch the fireworks.  Old Navy Bistro looked pretty decent with a decent wait time.

I have to say, I agree that this place is overpriced and the food is pretty mediocre.  I chose the Orange Ginger Chicken salad... It was a bed of iceberg lettuce with "stir fried veggies" (which honestly, as an Asian person, I think were boiled), topped with deep fried, battered pieces of chicken that were "glazed" with some bottled Sriracha sauce that I'm sure they're trying to pass off as their own special Asian creation.  But no, I know better and, for a couple bucks, you too can own your very own bottle of Sriracha in your fridge too!   Nice try though.

The husband ordered some cut of beef that he neither complained nor raved about.  The only memorable thing about it was the small corner it occupied on that great, big, white plate... a garnish of something or other to conceal the vast empty space would've been nice... though I don't think it would've made the steak taste better.

Overall, the food was meh and our bill was more than I would've liked to have paid.  Might consider stopping in for lunch if we ever have out of town guests, because they still have the view as their saving grace.

Yet another restaurant that spends their money on the decor and real estate expenditures, and skimps on the food quality.  It's unbearably expensive, and it's just not good.  I'm not going to label this place with too many adjectives, but if I had to choose three they would be
1 - overpriced
2- mediocre
3 - dissatsyfying

If you take a trip down to the docks, go to zia's.  best italian in toledo.

My first impression of Toledo is not all that great.  Cleveland seemed to have a few people out and about on Sunday, but Toledo looks like a ghost town.  When in a foreign land, rule of thumb = consult Yelp.  This place got good reviews and looked like it was in a decent area.

I walked in at around 6 pm on a Sunday night.  The place was nearly empty.  I figured, I'd try a few things because I hadn't eaten all day.  I tried the navy bean seafood chowder.  As a chowder, it was good, but it definitely did not need the navy bean.  The navy beans added nothing in terms of flavor and provided a strange texture to the chowder.  This was followed up with a house salad.  Meh pretty much encompasses my feelings towards this dish.  The house salad consisted of lettuce, radicchio, craisins, and onions in a balsamic vinaigrette.  The balsamic vinaigrette was pretty inconsistent with very little flavor.  For the entree, I had the cajun salmon.  It was essentially salmon on top of wild rice and pine nuts.  I feel like I could have made this whole dish at home (and that's really saying something).  The cajun portion of the salmon didn't taste like anything.  The most flavorful part of the dish came from the craisons on top.  The wild rice was inconsistent, crunchy in some parts.

The service was top notch, but then again by the end of the meal, I was one of three tables in the whole place.  The restaurant does have a nice view of the water, although Toledo's skyline is not much to look at.  There is outdoor seating, but the beginning of winter is probably not the best time to enjoy it.  For those of you familiar with DC and Northern VA, this place is designed like Clyde's.

Conclusion:  I spent the evening driving around and there really did not appear to be very many places better than this one. There are also two other restaurants in the same complex which probably should be tried before this one.   If you happen to be in this area, this might be one of your best bets for a decent meal.  Granted, there's a plethora of Church's Chicken.

If you like beef, this is where you'll find it.  It's located on The Docks off of International Park.  The restaurants located here are all very exceptional.  I love the New York Strip here, they make it so tender and well done doesn't mean burnt to a crisp.  The only time I was disappointed with this place is when I ordered the steak tips.  There wasn't alot of flavor and somewhat tangy.

They accomodate groups really well also.  We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff was really good, we had over twenty people and they handled it with ease.

This restaurant has a great location, especially being able to sit here at night on a clear day.  They have great windows.  It's kind of dark in here, but I guess its the price you have to pay to get a better view of the lights glistening on the water outside.  It's romantic.

Great Beef!!!

The menu is very good and they do offer seasonal fish and seafood dishes that are very good.  Try the outside dining if the weather permits.  A great view of the river and Toledo Skyline.

Very good food in a nice atmosphere.  The Cousino family did a nice job on this place but I always preferred the Cafe Chez Vin to this one.  Probably one of Toledo's better restaurants overall, and very well placed for downtown diners.

Not vegetarian friendly. Most places have at least one good veggie dish, (how hard is a cheese ravioli or a nice salad) but Navy Bistro's idea of fine vegetarian cuisine is unseasoned steamed veggies. The view of the river is nice, and meat-eaters seam to enjoy this restaurant, but I will never eat there again.

A very nice place to eat.  The view of the river and downtown is probably one of the best in the city.  The resteraunt shows this off too.  Very well decorated.  The serice is good and so is the food.
