A blast from the past! They do not make candy shops like this anymore.
They have a very helpful lady behind the counter that is knowledgable and provides wonderful service. The interior is the candy shop of many years ago! Excellent candy crafted by them in their cases at great price points. -

Interesting little candy shop that did not have the selection I was hoping for. The chocolate counter only has a limited selection and did not carry my favorites. I really like molasses chips and jelly chocolates which they do have jelly in sugar free (not my favorite). The other candy selection is decent and you can get some older candies here. I have found much better chocolate shops that are more homemade in selection.
I did get the three chocolates to see how they did. The pecan turtle was OK, but it had too much chocolate to other ingredients. The caramel was also lacking in proper flavor with the chocolate. The last one was a crushed up Oreo mixed with cream cheese and dipped in chocolate. That had a unique flavor but is nothing special so was really bummed. I might stop by again as it is a nice little shop but it is no real candy shop just a reseller of others candy and chocolate.
Once you find a real chocolate shop that sells seconds and great variety of hand dipped chocolate then you will know what I am saying. If you do want some older candies this is a great little shop, but do not expect great things from it though. I would have to say this is a 2.5 star place sadly. -

A walk back in time! Once inside this small cute candy store, you find that candy from your younger childhood days, like red hot tamales, pixie sticks and slow cows. They have collectible boxed sets and big suckers on a stick like I used to get at six flags every summer.
Towards the back of the store is an old soda fountain with ice cream and then a museum of sorts with wall art and posters. We even found some sugar free jelly belly assortment boxes, for under $4, not bad! -

I'm almost ashamed that I've never been here until my out of town guests referred me... Especially since this place has been in business since 1977.
Homemade fudge, classic candy (wax lips, giant jawbreakers, candy cigarettes) and a great selection of gourmet items like marzipan, chocolate cherries, chocolate covered orange peel, Bonbons, etc. Highly recommended, cute little shop with friendly staff. -

Love this store. They have candy that I haven't seen since I was a kid. Remember those sugar rock suckers? Man, I do, one of my favs. All differend sorts of chocolates and fudge. My favorite is the chocolate cherrys.Assortments of jelly beans and old school candies. Very friendly staff also! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

I love candy and Old Market satisfies all of my great candy store requirements:
- Great licorice selection (I tried imports from Finland and Australia)
- Nostalgic favorites (Super Ropes, Pixie Stix, Big League Chew, etc)
- Crazy chocolate covered concoctions
My favorite treat turned out to be the crunchy stuff (rice crispies, peanuts and pretzels covered in milk chocolate). I haven't been the worlds biggest milk chocolate fan of late and was really pleased with the great flavor of theirs. We went back the next day for more. -

We went by the candy shop in the old market to see what they had for selection. They do have a nice selection of hand-made chocolates and candys and a limited selection of nostalgic candies. The Mud Truffles were interesting.

one word... TRUFFLES! They are so yummy I could just eat them all day (but don't worry I don't). If you are a fan of chocolate then you will be a fan of this place. Good selection of candy you ate as a kid too. Love it.
