This place was super cute, and the crowd was really nice!  I stuck out like a sore thumb, being pretty young and all, but we had plenty of good conversation with the other guests.

The room was smaller than expected, but very cute, and honestly I didn't need much space since I was out most of the day during my stay.  They have little journals in the rooms, where most of the guests write notes -- so cute to read them!

The breakfast that day was banana pancakes, scrambled eggs, homemade yogurt, ollalieberry jam, pumpkin bread, and fruit.  All SO good.  Thankfully, no meat.  Also, their wine hour is good -- baked brie and cookies -- yum!

If I could improve one thing, it'd be the tub.  I was hoping for bigger, and it could really feasibly hold one person.  We stayed in the Ollalieberry room.

My wife and I just finished our week-long honeymoon here and it was the best place we could have gone. Everyone was super friendly, very informative, and the accommodations were wonderful. The staff went out of their way to make it nice for us, as we were their only guests for two different nights. We stayed in the Creekside Suite, which I would recommend for anyone. The breakfasts in the mornings were excellent (they needed a dolly to get me out of the dining room), and the atmosphere was cozy and very homey. All in all, we could not have asked for a better place to stay, and we will be staying there again when we are up that way.

My sister and her fiance (now-husband) had stayed here for a romantic weekend. I guess one day at breakfast they were speaking with the owners about how they were looking for a place for their wedding in the area. The owners said that they have done weddings before and offered up the inn. Fast forward a year later and they had booked the entire inn for the wedding. The ceremony was to take place in the garden area in the back and the owners, who normally do not do dinner, had created a special dinner menu for the small wedding reception (there were about 20 guests).

The staff at the Inn were amazing! They were so accommodating to our group and so friendly. They were just lovely. Breakfasts were beyond delicious, the best I have had at a B&B. First morning we had eggs, breakfast potatoes, olallieberry stuff french toast, orange juice, coffee and fruit. The second morning we had an egg bake with jalapenos with ranchero beans and biscuits. They make their own granola and breakfast pastries.

The room was very nice. I stayed in the Cambria room which is downstairs. Room was large, with a very comfortable bed and a very large attached bathroom. Bathrobes, hair dryers, make up remover, q-tips, all the amenities that can be found at higher end hotels. Yes, there was a little noise the morning but that is to be expected from at a B&B. It should be said that everyone in our party kept commenting about how much they liked their room and was enjoying their stay. That is a testament to the Inn and it's staff.

The staff leave by 6:00 p.m. and give you keys for the front/back doors, so you are left by yourself. This actually worked out beautifully for the party. Since all the guests were staying in the Inn, we could all hang out on the porch or garden, without the worry of disturbing anyone. It made for such a fun weekend and my sister had the most beautiful wedding! If my fiance and I ever decide to do a weekend in Cambria, we know where we will be staying!

A perfect spot to come to unwind, regroup, refresh in a setting that was so inviting, relaxing, quaint, and tranquil.  The owners/staff at Olallieberry Inn were very hospitable and accommodating with helpful information and suggestions regarding their inn and area.

We stayed in two different bedrooms.  Both were quaint, well appointed, and comfortable with private balconies overlooking the trees and natural shrubs and each with a gas fireplace making our stay more cozier.

Breakfasts were wholesome, fresh, and delicious.  The wine hour was a wonderful time meeting the rest of the guests and swapping stories.

The body massage was wonderful in relaxing my tight shoulder muscles.  Love the heat pads to the back and later on the neck.

Easy walking to the main town of Cambria for additional dining and shopping.

A special treat to be had at the Olalieberry Bed and Breakfast Inn.

P.S.  Must confirm ID and verify password for free WiFi.  There are two sets and the pamphlet left in our rooms weren't quite correct.

    I wish I could give this place a 3 1/2 vs a 3.

Though I can see why others are a fan of this place.  Sadly, I'm not.

What others say are true.  However I have a few key observations which has set my opinion.

There are breakfast "shifts."  We chose the later breakfast meal time.  The food was absolutely lovely.  Very gummy yogurt, fresh made hot coco for me.  However, I didn't appreciate the feeling of being rushed.  I just sat down and barely started eating.  Sure it was prompt to take food away, but still, I wanted to take the time to enjoy my meal.  I didn't want to be whisked away, just because they were closing the kitchen.

Then there was the wine and hors d'oeuvres.  Ok, the time frame was short.  The selection was limited.  What was a bit annoying is that when items ran out, they didn't even bother refilling them.  The warmed brie had ran out, the fruit, and one of the yummy wines.  There was still 45 minutes to spare.

I expect more from a top rated B&B.  Especially since I've experienced better service at other B&Bs.

Nonetheless, it was a lovely place.  Cute rooms.  A lovely evening sherry. Service was alright.

I really wish there was so much to Olallieberry Inn!!

My now fiance, booked us a room at the Olallieberry for our engagement weekend and we were not disappointed. Marjorie was incredibly helpful to him in the planning process and did everything to reassure him that all the details would be tended to and they were!

Everything about this special place is true. It's quaint and charming with some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. But what's make the Olallieberry Inn a step above is everyone's attention to detail and the true warmth they feel about their visitors.

I hope we can make this our special get-a-way for years to come as it will always hold an amazing place in my heart!

This was our second night of our amazing anniversary/birthday weekend, and since we stayed at J Patrick the first night, why not finish the weekend with another B&B at the Olallieberry Inn!

For years, we have driven by this place, and I always say, "Please can we stay there next time?!"

The place is so quaint and cute looking from the street, and definitely has the same look on the inside!

I was stoked that Dan let me FINALLY make a ressie here!

We were shown around the house, and were led up to our room, the Olallieberry Suite of course!

So cute!  I absolutely loved the bathroom!  So old school and romantic!  Not much to look at in the room, but really, you're there to relax and there is no need for distractions in the room.

We headed down to wine hour, were there was one other couple partaking in the garden, while we were up near the wine :) :) :)

    Great nibbles and drinks!

This was probably the most romantic I have ever been on a trip with Dan.  Skip down if you don't want to read it ;)....I felt bad that my hubby had no TV the entire weekend so I decided to make up for it.  I drew a bath and put the provided bubbles in the tub, and had him soak for a while, then I washed his hair! Not sure why, but guys LOVE having their scalp massaged!  I then gave him a nice, soothing massage, and he was out in no time! ;)

Breakfast....WONDERFUL!  We were the first couple down, so we sipped some coffee and nibbled on their homemade Olalliberry Danish...Oh so Good!  As people started to arrive, we were given fresh  cut fruit, with Olallieberry yogurt, and granola. Our main dish  was a little different....we had an egg casserole with ranch beans served with tortillas and salsa.  It was pretty good!

I loved the atmosphere of Olallieberry Inn!  If you're ever looking for a relaxing spot, I definitely recommend this place!  What a wonderful end to our weekend!

This is my FAVORITE Bed & Breakfast EVER! The property is darling and the owner's are such a delight.

We stayed in the Angel's Nook, and it was perfect. On the small side, but everything was just right. It had a bathroom with a tub-shower, and a fireplace in the room.

At 5:00pm they have wine & hors d'oeuvres in the Main House with all the guest. My favorite was the Phillo Wrapped Baked Brie with Olallieberries & Chipotle, to die for; they sell a recipe book that I regret not buying.

Breakfast is either at 8am or 9:15, and it's THEE BEST BREAKFAST EVER! You'll dine with a few other guest that are staying and everyone is so friendly.

Our 1st morning: Olallieberry Stuffed French Toast with Home Fries.
Olallieberry Yogurt with fresh fruit & homemade granola. An array of teas & coffee. It was just heavenly.

Our 2nd morning: Larry's Beans & Green Chili Souffle...and their homemade HOT SAUCE, the best! (I love extra hot). Freshly baked banana bread to go with all of the yummy dishes they spoil you with.

We didn't want to leave.    The Sunrise Room WILL be the next room I stay in.  Absolutely adorable!  Balcony, fireplace, King sized bed, and plenty of room with an attached bathroom.

If you're on your way to Hearst Castle this place is a definite must stop for at least a few days.

What can I say...this place is great....GREAT!!!  I stayed here two nights over valentines weekend.  Be advised that this place does not have an TV or radio.  Cambria is a very charming place and this inn is towards the end of the town, but everything is within walking distance.
Breakfast both mornings was so yummy!  The people that run the place were very friendly.  Also It was my boyfriends birthday and they surprised us with a small cake in our room on arrival.
Oh and I have back problems....this bed was probably the best sleep I have had in a looooonnnggg time!

To start things off...THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!

My girlfriend and I just spent the weekend here and fell in love with it. The breakfasts were amazing! They give you a ton of food, all home made, and totally delicious. They give you a choice of an early or late-morning breakfast, which is very nice. The owners/staff were very nice. They are always calling you by name and make sure that anything you need is taken care of.

We had only one beef with this place. We stayed in the Santa Rosa room. Our room had a detached bathroom down the hall; it's the only room like that. Having a detached bathroom wasn't the problem. the problem was that the bathroom was attached to the dining room. Imagine waking up, going down the hall, and staring at a group of people who are eating breakfast as you're about to go into your bathroom. You look like crap after just waking up, it's great! Next time we'll have to stay in a different room.

And there will definitely be a next time. You owe it to yourself to stay there. Do it, come on, do it!

We've been here 3 times. The rooms are clean and comfortable. If you're staying in the old house be sure to stay on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor was quiet. Our room on the first floor was noisy.

The breakfasts are outstanding. For example, starters of homemade, warm muffins, fresh fruit salad w/ olallieberry yogurt. Then pumpkin pecan pancakes and a side and optional topper of warm carmelized apples w/ more pecans. They serve fresh squeezed orange juice. The only drawback is that their coffee is not great.

The staff are warm and helpful. A great B&B experience.

We got married here and it couldn't have been more perfect! My new husband and I had dreamed of a small, intimate wedding weekend where our respective families could spend spend time with us, get to know each other, and celebrate without the chaos of a big event.   And our weekend was exactly as we had hoped.  Marilyn, Marjorie, and Larry were incredibly gracious hosts who were so accommodating to us, our family, and the vendors that we had hired to help us (florist, hair/makeup, coordinators).  Marjorie created a delicious reception feast for us: hors d'oeuvres (including her famous olallieberry bars), fresh mixed greens with olallieberry dressing, tender and juicy tri-tip, seasoned potatoes, veggies, and freshly made dinner rolls still warm from the oven.  Larry made sure the gardens were perfectly manicured and full of summer color for our special day. And Marilyn (my main point of contact leading up to the wedding)  was -as always- so incredibly sweet, supportive, and easy to work with for both me and my coordinators.    The entire support staff was awesome and genuinely eager to make our event perfect.  My wedding day was beautiful, blissful, and  completely stress free thanks to the wonderful staff at the Olallieberry Inn. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

Definitely 5 stars.  Alan and I started a count a few years ago of how many B&Bs we've stayed at over the almost 30 years we've been together, updating it every time we stay in a new one.  This is number 58.  The main house was built in 1873, making it 135 years old this year.  We stayed in the San Simeon Room, which is on the first floor.  Right outside our door was a table w/ sherry and glasses.  In our room was a king size bed, an armoire w/ great storage, boasting a rod, drawers and shelves.  There were two bedside tables w/ additional storage.  There was a surprisingly comfortable armchair and a little bench w/ a woven cane seat that sometimes served us as a computer table.  If there was any lack in the room it was of a proper computer setup but that's really not what's paramount in a B&B.  The bathroom had a sunken tub.  Not a fancy-schmancy one, but a plain old deep bathtub sunk into the floor.  It had a shower and the bath faucet was this cool ski jump shaped jobbie that sent out a fan shaped stream of water.  There were three grab bars strategically placed so you could get in and out of the tub safely.  When you're my age, that's important.  I don't think there was a single level floor in our room.  The house had settled comfortably in its old age.  It was wonderfully comfortable.

So that was our room, but was made it solidly 5 stars was our charming hostess, Marjorie, who has a gift for gathering people in and making them feel at home.  She also has a solid, trusty staff to help her.  There is a large gathering room where breakfast was served and people could hang out and visit.  One long table can seat up to 8 people and when there are more than that another table is set up.  There are 9 rooms.  I'm not sure how many there are in the main house, maybe 5 or 6, and there's another house in the back which is smaller.  In the afternoon there is a repast, more extensive and finer than that at the place in Pacific Grove, although I did like the Merlot in PG a little better.  There are what they call tomato shooters, which are tasty little crackers w/ cheese, Gouda and a little mayonnaise on them.  There was an artichoke & cream cheese spread on crostini, a plate of crudite, one night a baked brie en croute w/ olallieberry jam, another night a molded cream cheese w/ olallieberry-chipotle sauce over it.  Interesting, unusual and tasty stuff.  That was served on the back deck, which had a variety of chairs, tables and benches where people could gather comfortably.  One of our great pleasures is meeting an ever changing group of new people.  Some we connected w/, a few we didn't, but it made for interesting conversations.  A few people had never stayed in a B&B before and it was fun to watch their delight in the experience.  Several couples were celebrating events like birthdays, anniversaries or just surprise getaways.  Because of its location on the Central Coast, people came up from the LA/Orange County area, or down from the Bay Area, although several were from out of state and a small number were from the Central Valley.

Unusual was that cooking classes were offered Wednesday and Thursday nights.  Mostly locals, we guests were welcome to join the class.  We didn't, but one couple did the first night and another did the second.  Both loved it, as did the rest of the group, judging from the enthusiastic laughter emanating from the kitchen.  This doesn't happen often.  Usually classes are held on the chef/teacher's large boat in Morro Bay.  The second night Marjorie scored me a freshly made lemon crepe and it was to die for.  We'd set up the computer in the gathering room (one of our compatriots had dubbed it the Internet cafe when she and her partner had set up hers across from ours) and were catching up on Yelp and other fun stuff.

Breakfasts were great and varied from day to day.  Consistent were cereals (Alan liked the granola enough he bought some to take home), olallieberry yogurt to put over freshly cut fruit, home made pastries (Marjorie made small fresh olallieberry danishes one morning that were so far from the bloated crap available from the big box stores it was as if they were unrelated), and freshly squeezed orange juice.  Coffee and teas are served.  One morning there were ricotta pancakes w/ olallieberry and maple syrups and a lovely vegetable frittata.  Another we had Southwestern eggs w/ both a mild salsa and a spicy chipotle sauce, both homemade.  Today we had pumpkin pecan pancakes w/ roasted pear/pecan topping and heavenly light scrambled eggs w/ a sprinkling of herbs.  You get the idea.  We'll be back.

    WOW!

    The Olallieberry Inn is beautiful!

What an amazing experience. I was brought here for my Birthday and it was a wonderful surprise. When we arrived we were invited down to have the 5pm wine & hors d'oeuvres. This was nice because you got to meet other guest, on our second night we met a lovely couple who just arrived for the first time, we had so much fun just talking during the 5pm hour, we ended up having dinner and then going to see a live band play. The hors d'oeuvres were delicious.
We had the pleasure of having Marjorie and Dirk as our host and they took such great care of us, answered any questions and even helped us book our day at Hearst Castle, you truly feel like family when you are here as they are genuine and caring about the best things to see and do while you are in beautiful Cambria.
Marjorie bakes delicious treats day one was scones , day 2 cinnamon rolls. Dirk is a master at the salsa and the hash brown eggs and that's just a few of the items we enjoyed, oh yes and the olallieberry yogurt and granola, mmmmm.
I bought one of the cookbooks and I'm so happy I did, We have made the olive tepanade, almond pate and the salsa, we eat it with everything!
I can go on and on about how wonderful the Inn is and the wonderful people who made us feel like family.
We stayed in Angels Nook, the rooms are beautiful, the gardens and the sounds of nature relaxing, the Town friendly and we will be back as soon as possible!
Thank you again Marjorie and Dirk for everything, we will see you again soon!

They're great. The place is very cozy and clean, and has a nice little garden with a ton of different flowers. Right next to all the shops and restaurants, and the food is definitely not overrated! Marjorie and Marilyn helped me plan my engagement, from suggesting a location to helping with the room. Really sweet people who truly like to host.

This was our second visit to the Olallieberry Inn. The staff, Marilyn, Larry, Marjorie, Dirk and Margarita are all such wonderful host's. Any request is taken care of quickly and always with a smile. The breakfasts are incredible. Everything is freshly made, from scones to Danish to even the Granola. My favorite is the fresh fruit, Olallieberry Yogurt, and the granola on top. The different egg dishes they make are just wonderful. The staff is incredibly accomodating. For our breakfast on Saturday, one of the guests couldn't have onions which were in the egg dish. Without missing a beat Marjorie asked the guest if he would like scrambled eggs and provided them very quickly. We love the outside area, the gardens are beautiful and the creek below is so peaceful. It's a perfect setting for the Wine and appetizers that are served at 5 PM. I would prefer a better wine, maybe a good Pinot or a Zinfandel which Paso Robles is known for. The appetizers are outstanding however. We stayed last time in the Angel's Nook, while very cute and cozy it was a bit small. This time we stayed in the Sunrise Room and loved it. It is roomy and has a nice sized private bathroom as do most but not all the rooms here. Next time we are going to try the Creekside Room if available if not the Sunrise Room. We prefer the smaller house to the main house, it's quieter. I would strongly recommend to have Marjorie give you a massage. She is by far the best!  I will always book a massage with her when visiting.

Not sure where to have a meal, just ask. The staff is full of suggestions and will also make a reservation for you, mentioning if it is a special occasion. This place deserves 10 stars.

On our trips up to San Francisco twice a year, we always stop halfway and stay at Olallieberry.  It's like home away from home.  The rooms are cozy and romantic, the wine & hor d'oeuvres are fantastic, and the breakfast is simply delicious.  Marjorie makes you feel like one of the family.  This is really a very special B&B; one of the best we have ever stayed at.
