As other reviewers have noted, this place used to be occupied by a Hawaiian BBQ shop that was so barren, my ex and I thought it was a front for money laundering. Oishii, I'm happy to say, is no front. It is a wonderful teriyaki shop, and a blessing to Greenwood/Broadview.

Oishii's owners have done a great job converting this dingy store into a pretty, clean storefront. The woman at the counter (I regret not asking her name yet) is always delightful and prompt. My teriyaki takes about 10 minutes each time I go, no matter how many or how few people are there. It's worth it, each and every time. Their chicken teriyaki is splendid. Their brown rice was somewhat soupy the first time I tried it, but they apparently worked out that kink; when I had it yesterday, it was moist without being soggy, with a slight crunch and a nutty flavor.

I've gone to Oishii repeatedly, and will keeping coming back even though I now live closer to Northgate. They're worth the short trip.

The teryaki was a little too salty but the rest of the food is damn good!

Especially when your looking for that type of food on a sunday.

Nice big menu, cheapish food, good service, they give you watermelon at the end of a meal.

i am really not sure what all the rave reviews are about. i live walking distance and was looking forward to this place opening. the prices are ridiculous and you can order mori sushi delivery for cheaper. the portions are small and they take forever to make food. the teriyaki is sub prime.

the people who are working there are sweet but it really doesn't make up the difference. i really wanted to like this place.

I live within walking distance of this place, so I was more than happy to try it as soon as they settled in due to the fact that I despised the "Hawaiian BBQ" place that was previously in the building.

Let me just say THANK YOU to the owners for bringing some good food to this neighborhood. Selection is usually pretty grim unless you want to walk/drive a bit. The first time I went, I tried the Teriyaki which was good, but prefer my teriyaki sauce to be a bit thicker (theirs is very thin). My wife tried the yakisoba, which admittedly neither of us cared for, but the 2nd time we went we were very please with the Sushi offerings.

The place is sort of an all-in-one of Asian cuisine as well...and I appreciate that. I like being able to get Sushi and General Tao's chicken in the same order.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the staff is super nice. Very friendly and talkative! The dining room is also surprisingly clean, complete with widescreen HDtv on the wall. On top of it all, you get a free can of soda with all main dishes and the price is comparable to other restaurants, so it really does come off as free. It could be because this place is so close to me (and sushi that I can walk 2 blocks to get is just TOO awesome), but I really enjoy this place.

Give 'em some support so we don't have to end up with another Northshore BBQ!

Edit: I have to add...these guys are so nice that they read my yelp review, recognized my name, and offered to make thicker teriyaki sauce just for me simply because I expressed that I didn't care for the thinner sauce that they serve. This is above the call of duty as far as I am concerned. I am adding a star.

Because there are literally a million - give or take a few hundred - teriyaki places in Seattle, new places really must find their own niche in order to survive. I think Oishii Teriyaki has done that.

It almost seems a tad nicer than your typical teriyaki place. I just got take out but I noticed others in the restaurant were actually dining on actual glassware!  The place was recently renovated and it feels very nice, clean, and spacious.  The sushi bar wasn't in yet but will be placed on a nice granite counter top. I look forward to giving their sushi a try once they get that part in. They also offer a lot more than teriyaki - with other popular Japanese dishes as well as quite a few Chinese dishes as well.

The S.O. and I shared their curry special and their teriyaki special w/ gyoza.  The curry was just ok - not a whole lot of flavor. However the teriyaki was very good. The rice was perfectly cooked and the meat was nice and tender. The gyoza was also very crispy and the sauce was nice and tangy.

I'm looking forward to trying their other non-teriyaki stuff. And also their service was great and the prices were VERY reasonable. I think I paid $12 or so after tax for our two meals.

I'll definitely be back to Oishii!

Best spicy chicken in town.  Saucy, with carrots, onions and zuccini thrown in to boot.  Could have used a little more rice, but I'm nitpicking.  I've been all around the Greenwood, N. Aurora, Broadview area and I haven't had teriyaki that tasted this good.  Keep it up!  The place is clean, the people are nice and cheaper is not always better.  Even with teriyaki.
We need more places like this around town.

Seattle needs another teriyaki place like a crack whore needs another hit.

ANY HEW...   After the renovation of the old decor, the new decor seems to be much brighter with the light green walls, the flat screen TV, the sushi bar, clean floor, the dining tables and yes, plates and metal utensils.

The menu is your typical teriyaki place, but this place also has some Chinese dishes as well.  It's funny though, Koreans operate this place, like many other teriyaki places.

I stopped in to checkout the new space, and I liked it.  Much cleaner than it's predecessor, and having a TV may help bring in people.

Anyways, the lunch special this day is pretty sweet deal.  A nice portion of chicken (tender and tasty), two scoops of rice, a small cabbage salad (basic), four gyozas (non impressed) and a can of soda all for $6.95. My only complaint, the sauce is a bit sweet for my taste, nothing a bit of Sriracha sauce won't fix.

I imagine that they have a different lunch special each day.  Most dishes range from 6-8 dollars, with Bentos under 10 dollars.

Finally, like other places, they have a punch card type system to earn a free meal after ordering 10 meals.

I'll certainly be back, as it's taste good and is reasonable!

Oishii Teriayki & Sushi is located in the same spot that North Shore Hawaiian BBQ use to be.

They have a parking lot right next to the restaurant which is nice. It's usually easier to get into the parking lot going West on N 105th St.; sometimes if you are going to the East on N 105th, you will face oncoming traffic going West to turn into the parking lot.

The interior of the restaurant is better kept then when it was North Shore Hawaiian BBQ. They have a TV mounted on the wall for sit down dining.

I have only been here once and I had the spicy tuna roll and teriyaki chicken & beef combo. I enjoyed the spicy tuna because it wasn't the mayo paste sauce that some sushi places use on spicy tuna rolls. That was a BIG plus for me. The teriyaki chicken & beef combo was also very good and they gave a good portion of food. Very filling. I also got a free soft drink with my meal; not sure if this is a regular thing or just something they are doing now since they are fairly new.

Overall I would go back again because of the spicy tuna roll, portion of food, and quality. Although, I do know that some new teriyaki places do give favorable portions when they first open up and then later on they tend to decrease the amount, so I won't be surprised if the quantity of food is less down the road.

Sorry, in a rush and I wanted to review this place, so not too much detail and not sure if all of it made sense. Definitely worth checking out though.
