New York, NY
If you're driving down the Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway in southwestern PA, chances are you will drive through Ohiopyle State Park. We stopped quickly to take some snapshots of the Ohiopyle Falls, where the Youghiogheny River takes a twenty-foot fall.
Ohiopyle has a lot of recreational opportunities throughout the year such as hiking, white waterrafting, bike trails, fishing, camping, and skiing. About 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh and 3 hours from DC. -
Review from Steve M.
This place is great to bring the family to. Between the hiking, rafting, and biking trails there is more than enough activities to keep people busy. This time we chose to white water raft down the middle Yough which is the laziest of the rapids. They obviously are in a bit of a drought since parts of the river were only a foot or so deep. We will definitely be back just probably not until next year. There is some local hotels near by but I am not sure I would stay at them since they looked a little sketchy.
