Q:
Is valet parking a must? Can I park my own car instead giving to a valet parking attendant?
A:
We were there in June of 2021, and the valet offered to let us park the car ourselves. We just let the valet do it, because it was more convenient.

Oheka Castle is a part of History. We've eaten here before and it was fabulous. We were also to a wedding here which was everything you would expect.
In fact when my oldest daughter was getting married I lobbied for Oheka Castle.
So we decided that since we loved it in the past we would go again. It was actually out end of year company dinner, and since real estate is our business I thought this would be perfect.
Well something was just off on this night. For starters Valet parking directs us to enter through a side entry. Now you have to know that the main entry is stately, a real grand entrance with a double staircase up to the restaurant.
Ok we follow the directions and enter as instructed, but we're in a hallway with no one to greet us. After meandering through the hallway we find the elevator and travel up to the restaurant.
Next we're seated in the restaurant dining room. Kind of an overflow room, tight and quite noisy. All down hill from here.
We place our drink orders and appetizers. The drinks took exceptionally long to come and wait staff doesn't take our dinner order until after the apps come out which means we had to sit with menus on our laps.
I will say my app, oysters Rockefeller was very good, but tiny oysters, about the size of a quarter.
Finally our main entry arrives. Two members of our party ordered fish which was very undercooked on one and undercooked on the second.
They take it back but it's MIA for about 10 minutes. In the meantime waiters keep trying to bring other diners meals to us.
Finally the bill. After I ask for it takes quite a while for them to bring it.
Unfortunately a dis's appointment on this night.
I do want to love Oheka Castle and I will try again hoping for a redo of the first time we were there.
But my policy is if I give you a second chance please don't blow it because after that I won't come back.Helpful 13Thanks 4Love this 6Oh no 3 - Susan S.Syosset, NY10702Apr 18, 2024

This review is for the restaurant:
We came here for brunch. The food was good overall, but the expertise of cooking something to your specified liking was missing, especially for something simple. For example, I ordered avocado toast with a poached egg and requested the egg be cooked over medium... it came out fully boiled. My husband and sister-in-law ordered burgers to be cooked medium-well and the meat came out well done; however, the truffle fries were amazing. My sister in law ordered a drink and didn't even drink it because she didn't like the taste. Obviously the views of the castle were beautiful and you're paying for the experience, but the food was pretty basic from what we experienced. There were some other people in the restaurant whose dishes looked great with large portions, but I can't attest to the quality of the food. I would probably be back for the experience and to try something different, but I wouldn't bank on excellent food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 136292446Jun 27, 2023
Beautiful establishment. Grounds are immaculate and it's so interesting with all the art. Was there for an event and the service and food was on point. The ladies room needed servicing is my only suggestion.

Beautiful venue! Grounds are so clean. Lots of history here. The rooms are outdated but pretty. No mini fridge in the room. Bed is somewhat comfortable - wasn't bad but wasn't good. They have valet parking but you can also park yourself if you want. The castle also does tours. Very cool and interesting to learn! Recommend!! The restaurant is closed on mondays...bummer. Went on Tuesday instead. Pricey but delicious. Our waiter was nice but wasn't good with refilling water. Water should be an automatic thing to refill. Had to ask twice. All dinners were yummy and so was dessert. Would go back for a special occasion.
