Late late night? Check.
Sushi? Check.
Delivery? Check.

That's all I needed to know.

Hey, sometimes you get a sushi craving at 11 PM, on a weeknight. What are you going to do? Go out? No! Call OH Fusion and have them deliver some delicious rolls and the salmon spring roll to your door. Grub hub makes it even easier!

-You get very good size portions and I thought the fish was good quality.
-Prices are definitely reasonable.
-Service is excellent. They are the nicest people.
-I'd recommend going on a slow night, like Monday or Tuesday. They kept giving my friend and I free platters of sushi since barely anyone was in the restaurant. Who can say no to that?! We also got free miso (that did not come with our order).

The music was pretty funny. It was a bunch of Asian covers of some random American songs. If you don't mind the music being a little bit weird, go there. The decor wasn't special at all. Just a basic, plain, kind of a darker little restaurant.

I say try it!

Late night sushi? OH hell yes!

There has been nothing but love between Oh Fusion and myself since they slipped a menu under my door last summer. After months of delivery, I excitedly made my first in person visit last week. The blink and you'll miss it location is cutely nestled a nose south of the Sheridan El station. On a Wednesday night, we found the small chic black and white designed interior empty with the exception of one other table. While the tables were relatively close to accommodate their peak service times, it was nice to have them unoccupied so as not to have intruding conversations within earshot.

For the first time, I did stray a bit from my typical ordering patterns. I've been on a boot camp diet, and this was my "indulgence" for the week. My two favorite rolls, the Sanfran (salmon, avocado, jalepeno, tempura crunch topped with homemade sweet sauce) and the Mexican (yellowtail, cilantro, jalapeno, avocado, and spicy mayo) weren't in line with my current dietary needs. I found the Mexican to be somewhat salvageable, and the kitchen was nice enough to modify a few things so that I could kill my craving without killing my progress.

I chose edamame and a few Mexican rolls minus the spicy mayo with scallions instead of avocado. With a little squeeze of the lime garnish and a pinch more wasabi in my soy sauce, the spicy mayo became a mere afterthought.

My gluttonous boyfriend was not nearly as health conscious. He ordered the Sesame Chicken, the Mexican, and (damn him) my completely off limits Sanfran roll. While it looked delicious, I definitely didn't try his chicken, and he finished his order without a complaint. The Sanfran roll was tempting, and when I spied an end piece that was disproportionally cut smaller than the rest, I slid off the tempura crumbs (and with that removed 90% of the sauce) and treated myself to a watered down bite of one of my favorites. Don't judge me.

Aside from making my dish healthy, Oh Fusion also did a great job of making the bill relatively small. Roll prices are $7 and $8 for rolls comparable to the Sanfran and Mexican and $5 and under for the likes of Spicy Tuna and California Rolls. They also run a daily customer appreciation special of 4 rolls for $22 making this a great spot for casual first dates that could go either way.

A note to those going here on dates: the bathrooms are single sex for the toilet only. The sink and mirror is unisex AND viewable from the dining room through only a beaded curtain so bring a pocket mirror if you want to give yourself a mid date once over in private!

It's OK. It is close to my house and has good specials like 2 for one Mondays and 50% off Wednesdays.

Pros:
Cute atmosphere
Close to my house
BYOB
Mondays and Wednesdays they have 2 for 1 and 50% off specials that make it really affordable
Service is good (you have to ask for your check every time but I'm OK with that - that way I don't feel rushed)

Cons:
Sushi is good, not great
Regular food is not good (except Pad Thai and Fried Rice, they are good)
Tables close together - be a size 2 or risk getting your butt in someone's soy sauce

Not a lot of cons really - if you eat sushi you'll be satisfied, especially on their special nights. If you don't well, consider Tac Quick across the street.

The potstickers were good but that was it. The Shrimp Shumai was fishy, the crabrangoon tasted fishy - and that means its not good. The Sesame Chicken was INEDIBLE. It was soggy and the sauce was disgusting. I threw it uneaten into the garbage. As a late night place to order from they suck. I guess they were on time.

I did not have the sushi - looking at the reviews maybe that is the ONLY thing you should order at this place.

We needed a convenient place to meet, sushi, non-sushi food for me, and not too expensive all in one place. Enter OH Fusion. It is a quaint little restaurant very close to the Sheridan stop - walk too fast and not pay attention and you'll walk right by it. There wasn't too much seating inside, but they had a cute little outdoor patio (and BYOB!).

Service was prompt and friendly. She was helpful in providing recommendations between the few dishes. At our table we got, California and a veggie roll and Sesame Chicken with noodles.

I am not a sushi person, but I was told it was a good 4 stars but just not "quite there." Also, it was a little hard to eat for the chopstick challenged and might have been better if cut a little smaller to avoid it falling apart, but the presentation was good.

The sesame chicken was mighty tasty. Instead of rice, I ordered noodles. I assumed that they would be below the chicken (and have some of the sauce), but they were just out in a bowl and then started to stick together which was a bit irritating. I love Asian noodles and was a bit disappointed. The noodles were ok and I don't think I'd pay the extra dollar (also dislike the price upgrade to get noodles instead of rice).

I had made sure that the chicken wouldn't be too hot or there wouldn't be hot sauce... and yet drizzles on the plate for decoration, etc was the hot sauce which I got a taste of. That was an unpleasant surprise. Plus, the sauce was drizzled around the plate so you had to be very careful not to place your fork in it because it was a bit messy. All in all, you can't beat a $12 dinner with tax and tip!

Bottom Line: I wouldn't trek across the city just to come here, but if I was in the area, I would gladly eat here again. [If I could, this would get 3.5 stars.]

How does this place have 4 stars? The rolls were not cheap but they weren't expensive either. Until they came out and I realized they are the smallest rolls I've ever had in Chicago. All the standard rolls are only 5 little pieces (at most places you get 6) and the $13 dragon roll looked like a standard roll at any other Chicago spot. Pathetic. Miso soup was just ok. And it's not even like the neighborhood is so trendy as to warrant low return for average price.

They do seem to have a good lunch special so if I ever come back it will only be for that.

I found OH Fusion online as being one of few close sushi places that was open and delivered for lunch on a Sunday.....So we figured, why not try it out. Also decided to order here due to their chinese dishes since the husband does not eat sushi.

Food ordered:
Sushi Grande: Combo of 8 sushi pieces, california roll and miso soup
Mongolian Beef
Chicken Fried Rice
Another Miso Soup
Crab Rangoon
Edamame (got this for free w/coupon and order of $20 or more)

The review:
Sushi was ok. A couple pieces of fish didn't smell too fresh so I threw them away. The california roll was average, it's hard to mess that up.
Miso Soup was good but not great.
My husband's mongolian beef smelled RANCID. It was quite nasty. Just the smell when we opened the plastic container made us both sick. We didn't even want to risk eating it. We did call the restaurant and told them about it, but didn't bother for a refund since it was only about $7.
Luckily the fried rice was good and with the good crab rangoons, my husband was able to fill himself for lunch.
Edamame.....also average.....not much involved in this dish.

Overall..........We survived lunch, both were somewhat satisfied to not be hungry........but not going to be ordering from here again.

Out with the old (Katachi) and in with the new (OH Fusion)!

I was never a big fan of Katachi, so the semi-recent introduction of OH Fusion into this fabulous strip of BYOB places tickled my little fancy.

Seating is limited, but their outdoor patio adds some extra room. Quite stylish in that whole "Ikea meets Asian restaurant" kind of feel, which I dig. Clean, and that's what really matters. Dark woods, printed chairs, funky little plates...all the makings of a fine little meal between friends before scampering off to see Billy Joel/Elton John. Perfecto!

Thai + Sushi (hence, "Fusion")

I had the Larb Chicken Salad (a bit salty, but good), miso soup and tuna, yellowtail and seawood sashimi. I left pleasantly full, and though the quality of all the dishes were quite good. Their menu (which reads backwards, you'll see what I mean) has all the staples and some inventive little things thrown in for good measure.

Service was excellent, and they were quick to uncork our bottle of wine. Glasses all around, plates whizzing to the table...all well done, and I am thrilled that sushi has been added into the "under the Sheridan el tracks" mix. :)

Prices are inexpensive: Around $15 per person without tax/tip.

For reference's sake, here are the other BYO options within one block:
TAC Quick (Thai)
Pizza Rustica (Pizza Italian)
Also a decent liquor/wine store under the tracks!~

Rumor is this place is "late night?" Is that true?

Just had delivery. Ordered the following:

Yellowtail Nigiri - excellent
Chicken Larb - excellent
Chicken Panang - excellent

Hubby had:

Regular Fried Rice- very good
Kung Pao Chicken - very good

Delivery took less than an hour and was served piping hot with all the usual accoutrement (forks, soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, chili paste, chopsticks, etc.)

Excellent Asian Fusion from a delivery perspective. Quite yummy.

Tonight I worked late. I really wanted Sushi the only places I could order from were either here or Nan's according to grubhub. I decided no way would i spend money on NAN's and ordered from here.  Order came extremely fast.  What I did not expect was someone like Bobby Lee from Mad Tv as my delivery guy. He waved at me happily the entire time i walked to the door. Then thanked me about a four times and proceeded to hug me. Food was good.

Delivery driver is the reason I'm giving such a high rating.

Very Friendly.

This review is strictly based on delivery.

I found Oh Fusion in my desperate attempt to get teriyaki chicken in my tummy without having to go out for it. I was disappointed looking at the menu to find that the teriyaki chicken and stirred fried rice were separate orders. I'm spoiled and had always had the two together. I sucked it up and got the teriyaki as well as the stirred fried. My order also included plain rise and miso soup. I was also delighted by an online special that they had! If your order is over $20 you get a choice of having three FREE spring rolls. The spring rolls were delicious, and very springy...haha.

Now on to the food I actually paid for. The teriyaki chicken was so-so, definitely not the best at all. The stirred fried rice wasn't spectacular either but good nonetheless. I had to pick through the mounds of tomato they included in it before I could get to the rice. I have never had stirred fried with tomato or cucumber in it, so that was interesting.

I'm still slightly intrigued to go to Oh Fusion and find out what the food is like when I sit down and order. I'll update when that happens. In the mean time if I get an urge for teriyaki chicken again, I'll find another place.

The food is nothing spectacular. When you get a craving for an Asian food they got the general basics covered. I gave this place two stars because they deliver late. It loses the other stars because of this:
We found a used band-aid in our food. In the middle of eating, my friend spat out something from the seafood fried rice. What we saw was a piece of used band-aid. Which means someone got a cut or something on their finger, put the band-aid on, and cooked the food without putting gloves on which is really unsanitary. We threw the rest of the food out, and I called the restaurant to inform them of this. they offered a credit for the dish but since I won't be ordering from here ever again, I said no. So be aware. Their kitchen probably isn't the most sanitary place.

Yay! I am a fan, but I have a few qualms.

The Good:
1. Outdoor seating is always a huge bonus!
2. Lunch Specials! OK prices, good food. Appetizer, Soup or Salad, and and Entreet between $7 and $11
3. The appetizers - The crab rangoon and the gyoza were awesome!
4. The sushi itself was great. The fish wasn't chewy. Great texture and taste
5. Thai Iced Cofee
6. Service was delayed at first, but good once we ordered. We even go to make a couple substitutions because Octopus and I don't get along!

The OK:
1. $11 for a lunch special is a bit much, but we did get good sushi for he price.

The Bad:
1. The seaweed on the rolls was inconsistent. One piece was great and the next was so chewy it was inedible. Yuck!
2. The sushi didn't stick with its rice well at all. I'm still an amateur chopstick user, but you would have to be a pro to get anything to stay together at OH Fusion.

We'll be back and hoping for some better seaweed. We may even be back after 10pm when prices are even better than lunch special prices!

This is based on a 2 a.m. delivery experience... I ordered garlic fried rice with shrimp, and shrimp tempura...

While there were some nice things about the food, they didn't come close to outweighing the problems -- hence the two stars.   First, delivery took a while... which I wouldn't have minded except the food arrived cold and the tempura was soggy.  Then, I was excited to try the shrimp garlic fried rice, but the shrimp was SO dry and overcooked.  As I was staring at it wondering how it could have been cooked so badly, I noticed that THE SHRIMP WAS NOT CLEANED OUT.  I had completely lost my appetite by that point, which was fine since the rice was completely bland and had nothing in it except some radicchio and carrots piled on top.

Not a fan... I mean, it could really be that the items I ordered were like the WORST on the menu and everything else at this place is great, and it could be that they were just having an off night and that's why it took so long to be delivered, but I don't feel like giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Ordered carryout for dinner and I have to say I'm very happy with the new addition to the neighborhood.  The staff was really friendly- my food wasn't ready yet so they actually seated me and brought me water...most places will ignore you or look at you like a leper while you are waiting.

Ordered some spicy tuna rolls and the pad thai.  Yep, completely safe choices but that's how I roll when checking out a new Asian place.  The pad thai was a tad sweet for me but it definitely passed the pad thai test.

I can't wait to go back the next time I work from home as it seems like their lunch deals are great.  $7 for an app, soup, and entree?  The prices in general are beyond reasonable.

There is outdoor seating and it's BYOB...perfect for the summertime.

What I like best about OH Fusion is the outdoor seating. It's close and on a summer evening it's a nice little place to BYOB and just chill out. It's reasonably priced too, but the maki seems to be a little skimpier than most places. Otherwise the only issue I have is that they charge extra for ginger and even though they obliged my request for "no wasabi" by not giving me the green blob I dislike so, they drizzled a wasabi sauce all over my plate (which I excitedly mistook for avocado sauce).

I had a very nice Friday night dinner experience here with my husband. Here's the beauty of the whole situation: we live near the Sheridan Red Line stop, so after trudging home from the city with laptops in tow, we got off at our usual stop, popped into Sheridan Liquors (very nice wine selection for a hole-in-the-wall bottle shop) and crossed the street to go to OH.

If you need to relax (and I work in corporate PR. I do need to relax), OH is one place to do it. The decor is IKEAed-out (and happen to love IKEA design), the background music is low, non-obnoxious house music (not as monotone as techno, not as singsong-y as dance music) and it's small and candlelit. Emphasis on small--you probably can't seat more than 30 in here, but I like it. Adds to the atmosphere.

Food was much better than average, but I give it 5 stars NOT because it's the best sushi is the city, but because the overall dining experience was tops.

Have yet to visit the actual restaurant, but this place is the absolute tops when it comes to delivery -- quick and open into the wee hours of the morning (late night menu items are all $10 or under).  Ikura salmon is all sorts of amazing, and I don't believe there is a place in the city with nigiri as reasonably priced as it is here.

Solid.  Just solid.

I was here the first week it became Oh and a lot of the same people seem to work here from when it was Katatchi. The decor is stark white now but the music is about the same - an eclectic mix of occasionally inappropriate electropop/hip hop. Katatchi had decent food, and was sometimes all you can eat for a decent price. Oh however, IMHO, has gone down in quality quite a bit. The text in the menu is filled with classic engrish and the introduction is priceless but the content of the orders is questionable. Imitation crab comes with most of the sashimi/sushi specials. Our food - a mix of rolls and sushi - was very mediocre. On a second outing to Oh I had some much better specialty rolls but some pretty horrendous soup. Food from the regular kitchen is pretty average fusion and isn't bad.

The late hours are inconsistent. I've never actually seen it open at 4 am and we've tried to go a couple of times. The biggest upside seems to be the price, which is very reasonable, but if you're wanting some good sushi, I'd recommend going elsewhere.

This is why you need to go to OH fusion: it's open from 5pm - 4am!  Instead of the typical drunk food of El Palmar, Bacci's, McDonald's, and Taco Bell, OH caters to taste buds that beg Japanese fusion cuisine around 2am in the morning.

Right off the Sheridan Red Line, OH is your neighborhood sushi joint that's open in the middle of the night.  I've had midnight sushi cravings, so I'm glad that this place opened up nearby my apartment.

I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Don (which is tempura-battered fried shrimp and veggies on top of rice) from their late night menu - it was delicious but I did have a couple hang-ups about it.  The shrimp portion was small - like only 3 shrimp - and the rest was a generous portion of fried veggies.  It was great - but they could have upped the shrimp count.

Now the tempura is served on a bed of white rice...plain white rice.  Make sure you have some soy souce, hoisin, and sriracha sauce on hand - your gonna need it.

The order also comes with a choice of an appetizer (crab rangoon, vegetable roll, gyoza, or edamame) and a choice of either miso soup, cucumber salad or seaweed salad.  I had the gyoza and miso soup - both delicious and satisfying.

The entire meal was great and I will come back soon to try the sushi.

I NEVER go to a restaurant two days in a row, but I am now admitting to the public that when it comes to OH Fusion, I won't turn down a lunch opportunity.  I was happy to see the old Katachi Sushi turn into this more "hip" Thai/Sushi joint with late nights (see below for exact hours).

It's about time the Sheridan/Irving area gets a decent and reasonable lunch place to dine.  OH has $7 lunch specials ($11 for the sushi and $9 for teriyaki lunch specials) available everyday from 11 am to 2 pm and get this, DINNER SPECIALS at the same prices available Sunday through Thursday 10 pm til 2 am!  What is this, Minneapolis with their late night Happy Hours??!!  Heck when I can save money, I'm all about it!

The food is delicious and served on adorable dishes (see my profile business photo for proof).  The deals come with the following choices:
1-Gyoza (my recommendation similar to potstickers), Vegetable Egg Rolls or Crab Ragoon
2-Cucumber Salad (again my favorite with its sweet sauce), Tom Yum Soup, or Tom Kha Soup (I think that's the third choice)
3-An entree either noodles, rice or sushi including one meat (Chicken, beef, tofu or vegetable).

I am quite picky when it comes to the Pad Thai sauce but OH's is OOOOHHH so good!  It does come with tofu in addition to your meat choice so just a heads up.  But their tofu is also the tastiest I've ever had.  It almost tastes like buttered eggs.  Just know that they give you chop sticks but don't feel bad to ask for silverware since everything is slippery.
Something interesting is that their Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew has no heads but just the stalks.  One last thing is DO NOT leave without eating their Sweet Potato sushi rolls.  I'm not usually a fan of true seafood sushi but enjoy the California and Avocado rolls, but now since discovering the Sweet Potato Rolls, I'm in love!  Get out to OH and take advantage of their outdoor seating patio with their BYOB policy.  For all those people who love to party hardy, they're open until 2 am Sunday through Thursday (and 11 pm Friday and Saturday) just for you!

i am surely happy that this place exists...i mean, you can get decent asian fare brought to your door at 1 AM on a monday?!!? that alone is worth four stars
however, based on the food ive had, i have to take one star away based solely on the fact that my chicken satay was pathetic, and my pad thai was sub par, at best. i used to live in southeast asia, and have been searching for the satay i remember, but is seems that unless i make it myself, it might as well be a leprechaun riding a unicorn.
i will say  though, that the japanese fair is quite good, including tasty gyoza and quality sushi, especially for the price.
so, if youre in the mood for some inexpensive asian grub late at night, check it out

Update: They seem to have resolved the issue with cutting the sushi pieces well. Give this place a try. It is reasonably priced and good sushi. I tend to like the nigiri more than the rolls, and the crab rangoon and Tom Yum. Go when you can eat outdoors, since I think they may have some A/C problems right now.

Update: New additions to the menu include some Thai dishes. The two things I tried, Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup, are both excellent!

Update: The taste of the sushi is good, but they do need to work on cutting the pieces better. The pieces were often not smooth and did not look attractive like other sushi does.

The place has been redecorated since it was Katachi and is very nice and relaxing. Normally they have music at an OK level, not loud, and not techno (PLEASE keep it  not loud and not techo!) . The sushi pieces are decent sized, and you get 2 pieces, so the prices are very reasonable. Good fish quality. Once I was there and there was too much rice on the sushi pieces...but normally it is not a problem. The crab rangoon is very good.  Miso soup is good but could be hotter.
Service at the restaurant is great, especially the waiter named Jack, who is wonderful. Having BYOB is great. I would give this place a try if you haven't been there. Reasonable prices, good sushi, and good service, for a relaxing dinner out.

YUM!  This place is SOOOO much better than the last place that was there.  I went here on Thursday night with two other people.  We brought our own wine...definitely a plus.  Then we all ordered miso soup, I split some sushi with one person and the other got the chicken teriyaki.  I got the sushi grande (8 pieces and cali roll) and then we got the mexican, crunchy roll, and the dragon roll.  Well needless to say, it was all fresh and delicious.   Plus, my boyfriend is a chicken teriyaki nazi and he really liked it, which is good because pretty much everywhere we have went...has been sub par.  Anyway, the service was good, they were on top of water and asking how everything was.  We actually were sitting outside because it was nice out.  The inside area looks so much better than those blue walls the last place had.  I think I read a review on here that its the same people...if thats the case, I am surprised.  I ate at the last place and it was gross.  This place's quality is much better.  Who knows, I could be fooled.  I will be going back!  Plus, the total bill was like $52...nice...!

Just got food from Oh Fusion. I am impressed. My food was, dare I say, cute? I got the late-night fried rice special, which includes soup (I got miso) and an appetizer (I got three gyoza), for $7. The soup was teeny but good (and was basically a freebie, since you are getting a decent-sized entree).

I am picky about Asian food. Everything that arrived was cooked well and there weren't any pieces that I felt were unappetizing. It wasn't "gourmet.," but for $7 after midnight, I was pleasantly surprised. The delivery person was nice, too. And they actually followed my request not to include plastic utensils or napkins (and no, they didn't just forget to include them -- I saw my request written on the order.)

I will be keeping the menu that came with my food, and ordering from them again. They deliver till 4 AM!

I remember the pieces of nigiri being a little small and not cut the way I'm used to (they were a little more square/rectangle-y/not cut on the bias, but it was legit and they deliver til 4 AM, PEOPLE.  On a late bar night I'll give this place a fuzzy 5 stars (and offer the delivery guy a shot of Jameson).  I remember liking the specialty rolls.  VERY reasonable prices.  Hurray!
