At times they run out of my notepads which is very frustating. Why when I buy 3 or my items am I asked do I want a bag? Also I hate it when the cashier puts my receipt in the bag even when I have my hand out. Hello do you think my hand is out for a handshake? I seem to wait in line longer than I should.

I recently ordered several items online to later pick up at this store, but in the end, I didn't get the chance to go to this store and pick it up. Got an e-mail a few days later that the store had cancelled the entire order. I figured that it would not show up on my next monthly credit card statement, but it did show up.
After reading the other reviews, it is very clear that I am not alone in saying that this store is terrible.
Like one previous reviewer, I too will take my business to Fry's. -

For the blonde lady-straight hair that is a "manager" there, if I got the wrong post it notes ..fyi you aren't supposed to roll your eyes at customers and be rude about it.
Was shopping for my boss here, but I won't ever give them a dime. I would go to Office Max or Target. -

Not only do they mail out great coupons, they honor competitors' coupons! Hot damn! And you can get cool store credit for recycling your ink cartridges here. Score!
The missing star is for often not having things available that I consider fairly obvious, which necessitates a trip to Office Max or buying it online.
Otherwise, I'm there!Listed in: My 'Hood, Home Prep, Best Place to Shop

The store has a decent selection of office supplies. Not sure where the salespeople were since there were only 2 standing by the registers. I bought something but looking around if I had to return something I might be lost. I didn't find a sign.

If it was possible to give 0 stars that's what this store would get. Came on a weeknight to buy ink. The store had all of 5 customers so it wasn't crowded.
The bf decided to look at wireless keyboards. He found one that he liked but had some questions. After looking around for someone to help us I decided to go in search of one myself. I walked the entire store. No employees to be found. They were all at the register except for one guy who stood behind a counter so I walked up to him. He glanced up at me and looked me straight in the eyes but then put his head down and succeeded in never looking at me again.
I wasn't trying to be pushy. I even waited while he finished writing something down. His name tag said he was a "Department Manager" ---- thats how close I was standing to him. I stood in front of him for a good minute before he turned and just walked away. Without saying one word. I understand if you are busy Mr. Department Manager. But really you couldn't even bother to acknowledge my presence?
Needless to say, we didn't walk out of the store with a wireless keyboard. Kudos Mr. Department Manager on losing a sale and a customer for life. Above all, congratulations for being the worst customer service experience I can remember. -

Solid selection, decent prices, weak customer service.
I needed a few dozen three-ring binders, and I was pleased to find a nice variety at OD. I picked up three 12-packs of 1/2" view binders (the kind with the clear cover). They were $19.99 per pack; not too bad at all. For the ballerchief executive types, there's binders that cost more than $10 each, but low-end will do just fine for me, thanks.
Only one slow checkout lane was open, despite the line of three, four, five customers. Slowness was exacerbated by the customers returning empty printer cartridges for discounts. It's like using coupons, but way slower. I can't get too upset, because it's important to recycle. Not to mention reduce, reuse, and close the loop.
When I finally reached the front of the line, I wasn't offered any bags. (Seriously? Binders are heavy and awkwardly shaped! (Insert mom joke here. Your mom, not mine.)) I loaded the binders back up into the cart and made my way to my car. And... there's no shopping cart receptacles outside. Perfect. Walked the cart back into the store. Need... easy... button... -

This is one place I would not want to be in an earthquake. You sould see the way the boxes are stacked. This location feels more like a warehouse than a store, much more so than any other location I've ever been to. The reason for the above average rating is that I've always found the service to excellent here. The selection is something else.
Last time I went here I wanted recycled binder paper. They only had binder paper made from trees. So I went down the street and bought paper from the drugstore. That might sound silly, but I felt like I needed to punish the store that is supposed to specialize in office supplies for not carrying more recycled products. They do make it easy to find recycled products on their website... -

I had a bad experience here last night. I went in to purchase office supplies with awards points I had earned. At the register, my purchases added up to more than my rewards points. I said I would take out some items and get the amount down. The cashier said I couldn't do that because he was in the middle of a transaction. Oh come on. Now who can't fix a transaction? He was just lazy and thought he could bully me. I said no, he could cancel the transaction and start again. Of course this put him out since he did not get his way. And he was short with me and unfriendly after that. This is too bad since there are other staff there who probably are nice and who actually service the customer instead of themselves.

I have been a faithful customer of OD for years and buy all of my printer ink and paper at OD. Today I was in for a big and bad surprise. I ran to grab a few critical ink cartridges only to find they had all been replaced by photos of the cartridge and little paper slips. Take a paper slip to the cashier to get the real cartridge.
Why is this bad? I usually do an ink-run in less than 5 minutes door-to-door. Today, I picked my ink (little paper slips) and went to the ink depot cashier who called a runner to take the slips and go fetch the ink. In the mean-time, two other customers behind me in line (not buying ink) where checked-out and gone before the runner even opened the new ink cabinet. I walked out of the store before the runner had even grabbed the first cartridge. I am sure that Staples, OfficeMax or Fry's would rather have my business.
BTW, I have emailed customer service to complain. -

This particular store isn't worthy of the Office Depot Logo. The selection is quite limited here and over priced. I was hoping that they would carry better selection of products. I needed a specific kind of folder and office depot was the only place I could think of buying it. I was surprised at how expensive it was and there were no alternatives.
This store seems really cluttered. They really need to redo the merchandise display and re organize the store.
Also the Womens public restroom in this particular store had no soap. I was uber grossed out by this because I needed to wash my hands. Luckily some smart employee left a bottle of disinfecting wipes as an alternative. -

I hate coming to this Office Depot store, but I got no choice... it's the closest to my work place... and everytime we need any office supplies -- like at this very moment -- our ONLY source is this Office Depot :-(
Most of the staff here doesn't have Customer Service... none at all... and it's really a frustrating experience. -

Good selection, cold and spacious. Gets busy and many school items run low, fast. I believe they do deliveries to offices for bundles and bundles of items. Good calculator selection... for anyone who wants to take a gander at them!

I got here really late for Black Friday, and of course they didn't have any of the items that I was looking for, but lo and behold, they did have a demo HP computer, which was almost identical to the one that I had ordered the nite before online. I spoke with Dee, the manager there, and she told me that she would let me have it with an additional 10% off the already 10% off sale price, just because there was no keyboard/mouse. Deal. So in the end, I scored it for about $320 less than what I was originally going to pay for a new one. Dee was very helpful and cordial, even in the midst of being pulled in different directions by customers asking her questions. I was pleased.

I agree with the Yelpers who say that this store does not have the most logical layout and that it can be frustrating trying to find someone to help you locate something. 3 stars for that. But, I do give an extra star for the fact that they graciously price-match their website. I walked in with a printout showing a particular item's price on http://officedepot.com was $19 instead of the $34 in the store. They overrode the in-store price and gave me the online price. Very nice. Do some homework ahead of time and you'll save some loot.

I've been coming here for years buying small things and visiting Raj at the shipping desk for my UPS needs. One night I came in to ship off a package and no one was manning the rear counter (printing and shipping desk)--and the manager on duty told me to come back the next day because no one else in the store at the time knew the log in to ship out UPS packages. Last time I checked, Managers ran stores while department heads ran the departments--and managers should know how to log in a silly UPS/Pitney Bowes machine--and if they don't they need to cut costs and fire them. If you see Rick, the manager there don't bother asking for help as he won't be too useful. Trust me.

I had the most frustrating shopping experience of my life at this location a week ago, and that's saying a lot!
It is of modest relevance to my review that I was there at about 7 PM.
I always have a hard time finding what I want. I don't know whether it's because they move stuff around or just haven't bothered to put up the signs describing what's in each aisle.
I finally find what I want and head up to the cash register. There's one cashier checking one guy out with another guy behind him, so I am third.
When the guy ahead of me begins what must have been an incredibly complex transaction, along comes Rick the manager and another cashier. Rick is breaking down packaging a few feet away from me, and the cashier is drinking an orange soda, occasionally pressing a button on the other cash register to see what time it is.
The cashier actually doing something has to go in back. Rick continues to break down boxes. The other cashier fidgets some more.
The working cashier comes back. Rick continues to break down boxes. The other cashier fidgets some more.
Now, perhaps five minutes after Rick and the other cashier arrives, the first cashier has to begin examining some piece of paper closely, and I've had enough. I put down my purchase and ask the fidgeting cashier whether she would have been able to check me out if she wanted to do so. Oh, yes! She puts down the soda, mumbles something about cash, and logs into the cash register. "Never mind," I say.
So far, this is just an annoying visit to a store where I already know that my business is not really appreciated.
Rick is still breaking down boxes, so after ascertaining that he's the manager, I ask him why employees just fidget around when there are customers who actually want to buy stuff. Rick's response: "She's on lunch." On lunch at 7:15 PM at a store that closes at 9:00 PM, OK.
I point out that because I didn't know she was on lunch, I got rather frustrated that she was standing around doing nothing while I waited. Maybe, I suggest, employees who are not able to help customers should not be on the floor? Rick issues a devastating response: "She's on lunch!" Oh, that explains everything!
With the Obama Zeitgeist pervading my consciousness, I try to turn this into a teachable moment. I carefully ask Rick if he understands why customers become frustrated when they are waiting in line while employees are either doing nothing or breaking down packaging. Rick ponders this for a moment, looks me in the eye and says "No."
OK, fair enough. That actually does explain everything. This is one of those stores where the employees believe they are doing you a favor by letting you buy products you could buy just as easily in dozens of other places.
It gets worse! When I got home, I used Office Depot's website to relate my experience. One week later, no response. I didn't expect to get anything more than a form letter apologizing for my inconvenience, but I got the same brand of customer service I got from Rick: none.
By Grabthar's Hammer, I will avenge myself! I will never go to Office Depot again. -

I just had the best customer service experience at this location. I was helped by Dave. Dave was helpful, professional, competent and cheerful. Dave made my merchandise exchange a breeze. Dave gave me helpful advise and information regarding my new purchase. He also helped me select an ink cartridge replacement in a sea of boxes. At the end of our exchange, Dave carried my heavy new item, a shredder, out to the car for me. Excellent customer service all around!
