Love the always honest advice I get from the sales guys here, especially Jared and Elise. I've bought many parts both elsewhere online and in store and the pricing is almost always similar. Their service department does top notch work on my Jeep, whether it's a suspension upgrade, CAI, etc I always love the final product.
See you on the trails SD!

It's all about Jared and how he treats his customers, or let me state more accurately, who Jared is as a person.  A great guy who really knows Jeeps.  I have to say that if not for Jared, I would have gone with an ORW competitor before I chose to spend thousands of dollars at this establishment.

I have been to the San Diego ORW store several times over many years and would like to share my customer service experience with you.  In June 2011, I came into ORW to lift my 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.  I purchased a lift kit, new shocks, new tires, as well as other parts that were required to make the lift possible.  I also paid for the labor to install and remove all of the parts on my Jeep as required.

I have a business background and part of it being a Contracting Officer for the U.S. Govt, so I went to 3 different off-road shops prior to giving ORW my business.  In the end, ORW gave me the best bang for my buck and matched their local competitors price thus winning my business.

After making an appointment, the work was completed in one day and the work was done properly.  If you are serious about getting your truck or Jeep lifted, I recommend that you give ORW San Diego a call and give them the opportunity to give you a quote.  They are a great group of guys, and they really know what they are doing.

P.S. Thanks SD Jeepin' for my discount ;-)

I've tried just about every offroad parts store in SoCal and Jared at ORW-San Diego is the best. Jared is great and will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. The service department is run by a thorough mechanic (Bill) and there's a great Asst. Manager in Ryan if you do have any problems.  If you need Jeep or buggy parts; hit up ORW in Kearney Mesa.

Walked in Monday ready to spend $1000 on lights for my truck...
6 employees behind the counter, 2 customers in the store, not one of the employees acknowledged either of us...
Way to to guys with your "customer service"!
I will be sure NOT to shop here again.

Stellar service by Jared and the rest of the crew at ORW!!! Let me just say that they went beyond the call of duty to get my JK riding tall and proper.

I would not trust anyone else than the guys at ORW for modifications on my ride. Kudos!

I ordered a lift kit from another shop and brought it to these guys and they were happy to apply it. I ordered wheels and tires through them as well, everything went smooth. If they don't have it, they'll order it, and that was my only remote disappointment which wasn't really their fault was that the American Racing Wheels I ordered were on backorder. However, Junior, one of the employees made stuff happen so they got to me and put on my truck a lot sooner than later.

Junior, the guy I dealt with was super knowledgeable about all things Toyota, parts and pieces of lifts etc.

Not a BAD shop.  They've got a larger selection of in stock items than other places.  They also match the price of their competition which is cool.

What I dont like about this place is that they're always trying to get you to buy more or go bigger.  They dont have your best interests in mind, they have money on their mind.  If you're the type that wont settle for anything but the best, they'll be okay for you, but if you're a broke ass like myself or are just watching your wallet, forget it.  There's better deals to be had at 4Wheel Parts.

I stopped in to inquire about a few things on my Ava, they knew what they were talking about and were able to give great recommendations. Primarily on exhaust, they actually told me where to go to get it done and they were dead on.
Store itself is clean, well laid out and lots of O/R supplies/parts/accessories right there no ordering.
Pricing seemed right for what they have not over market value.
Staff is good spirits and as stated knowledgable.
Recommend checking it out if you are an off road enthusiast, or just want to add a something extra to your toy

It's always hard to find a good independent service mechanic that will do the job right the first time. ORW is great alternative when compared with dealership, specially when work being done has to deal with suspension and performance 4-wheeling.

This had been my 3rd time using ORW service, each time, they were able to identify the problem immediately, based on staff experience working with various 4-wheel vehicles; whereas the dealership was not able to identify the problem. After the work is done, they even throw the old parts in the back of the truck so that customer can actually see how bad the old parts are.

I have had 3 trucks lifted by ORW Kearney Mesa. They have done an excellent job every time. I shop a lot online, so I research before I buy a $3000 lift kit and the best legit price that I find is always higher than what I pay at Orw.

I had my first truck lifted at 4 wheel parts and I was not happy.  The alignment was never good after several times driving all the way out there and the price was not competitive so I became a customer of Orw.

I should have listened to my friends before coming here but I did anyway. I ordered two new rear Bilstein shocks fro my SUV and they were the wrong ones. The ones I had put on were for regular cars, not heavy SUV's. The people at ORW insisted they were the right ones because that is what their computer told them. I called the Billstein factory and read them the part number and the factory indeed said they were the wrong ones! Go figure. I went back to ORW and they did some research and what do you know, they also agreed they were the wrong ones after their mechanic took it back in the shop and said they were too long. So I had to wait another week for the right ones to get in and I had to call them everyday to see if they came in even though they told me, they would call me. When I brought it in, they said I would have to wait all day for a one hour installation! They were booked up all day. I told them that is not an option since they screwed up and was told I would be first in line. They also tried to charge me more money for the heavy duty shocks that was ordered wrong the first time. After arguing back and forth I finally got what I wanted with little repect. There are many more off road shops in the area and I will never do business with ORW ever ever again!

They say they match prices... but they lie! Told them i found a set of tires i wanted for 40 dollars cheaper each and they said they couldnt go that low and the other store must have a different distributor... uh yah think?

Everything is literally hundreds of dollars more than anywhere else. They know a lot about cars and trucks so its good to go in and ask them questions but they're pretty pushy about upselling.
If you've got cash burning a hole in your pocket you can buy your stuff there, it must be that their distributors are expensive because i just don't think anyone would mark up stuff that much.
Some of the guys are clueless but a lot of them are actually pretty nice... and it's not the employees fault that any lift you buy there will be 2-3 hundred dollars more than anywhere else.... Also i hear their installation is top notch but it is also overpriced, 300 bucks to do a ring and pinion when i can have a factory mechanic do it for 200.... yeah ill go with the factory mechanic.
I asked them if there was a bench rate, told them i have a toyota pickup, they said no because its easier to have the truck on lifts so they can work on the R and P at chest height. A toyota 8" has a 3rd member that the R and P comes out with it, therefore they will be working on it on a bench anyways.... i laughed pretty hard at that, some "off road" experts they are :D
Also the guy said they don't take pictures of the wear pattern for the drive and coast on the rings for you..... how do i know it was set up right then? And i asked them If i was gonna have it done if they could write down the CBPL and the shims it took and a few other measurements (i may be dumb but im not stupid) and they said no...
The factory mechanic i talked to said he will show complete pictures of wear pattern and proof that its my diff its a picture of, as well as CBPL and all other measurements as well to ensure i'm satisfied.

BUT MAINLY my buddy was gonna return his compressor he thought blew up (he bought it a week ago, 30 day money back guarantee), it ended up working just had a reset on it... anyways back to the story.
The guy told us there is no way we are getting our money back we will have to pay to get the higher end compressor they now have... seriously? he tried to get the manager because i seemed kinda pissed about this as i should (but I maintained politeness) but the "manager" was taking a personal call and couldn't be bothered. Apperantly things written on their official documents mean nothing, the compressor ended up working when hooked up but i will never shop somehwere that writes something down on a piece of paper and doesn't stand by it, pretty sure thats illegal ORW.
Anyways he told my buddy "you're stuck with it" even if we just didn't want it anymore (he bought a better compressor at an off road parts store so he didn't exactly want this one anymore... but he ended up giving it to me in exchange for some cage work so it was a win win).
