Q:
Does odeum automatically charge a 20% gratuity? I asked because my buddy just told me Odeum charges him 20% gratuity just for 4 ppl
A:
It's still 20% for two people, and the service is not worth it at all.

I don't know why we've never been here but, wow was it good!
Everyone was so kind. I just loved our waiter, he was so full of life and made us smile.
The food was some of the best we've had in a long time.
Hubby had the ahi and I had the skirt steak, then we finished with the butter cake which was amazing!!!
Can't wait to come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - domenic s.Gilroy, CA8381Feb 4, 2024
Food was average for the price range. Odd design decisions - combo fine dining/modern loft style which was dissonant. It was loud when we went (bad acoustics). Service was adequate.
It's a fine little treat once in a while. Manage your expectations and you'll be satisfied.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cole K.San Carlos, CA4223Jan 4, 2024
Enjoyed a nice lunch at Odeum. Food is very well flavored with very good presentation. Service is excellent from all staff members. I really like the casual and elegant dining experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant and will come back given the opportunity.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Pete S.Atlanta, GA8315Apr 21, 2024
Odeum has always been our favorite dining place and it just keeps getting better. Staff, service, food, all top notch. This morning at brunch I think I had the BEST breakfast burrito in the SV. Sal is an amazing proprietor who keeps it all on point.

The service is horrible. We waited for our main entrée at Valentine's Day, and never got it and walked out. This is the third time I've gone back and experienced the same thing.
This used to be my favorite restaurantHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 1, 2023
Ambience is pretty nice however If you like dining in somewhat tight quarters this is the restaurant for you. If you don't I would recommend asking to be seated outside. The timing soup to nuts was pretty good. If I could make a recommendation for consideration. I would be mindful of the incessant asking if each utensils, dish and glass could be cleared was definitely a bit overkill. This interrupted our date night from beginning to the end. This made our dining experience feel hurried up. I understand tables need to be turned over on a Friday night but this was too much.
My 69.00 New York steak said Prime however I could tell the quality was a lower grade cut of beef as I had mouthfuls of gristle at times. My husband had Alaskan True Cod he loved it! The crack bread was also delicious! Dessert was yummy.
I strongly recommend the LUISIANA BUTTER CAKE.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 31, 2023
We celebrated a birthday in this artisan restaurant.
The weather is nice here in Morgan hill. We sit outdoors, the sun is perfect, the staff has helped moving the heater next to us as it's a bit windy.
There wasn't many crowd in a Sunday morning but enough to feel the vibe.
We ordered a hummus - the bread is so crunchy though soft, sprayed with all kinds of spices. Even before you eat it, you can smell the lighted based spices and their mixed aroma. This dish has opened up our appetite perfectly to welcome the next few.
The main dishes we ordered are grilled chicken souvlaki as well as the signature odeum gyro. The chicken has a good balance of nutritions with grilled vegetables and every ingredient preserves their own taste while creating an amazing mix with each other.
The gyro came with lamb, potato, tomato, red onion, arugula, yogurt and feta cheese, interesting mix, the lamb was very tasteful, the arugula salad is very fresh and a great balance. it's so huge that we have to Togo it in the end.
The dessert was on the house, it's a strawberry pudding with cinnamon, it was a great surprise, I like the mixture of fruit sour and dessert sweet.
The experience is definitely great, with the staff attentive to you.
I would like to try their dinner menu next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 20, 2023
Had a great meal here during a road trip. Coming back for the food!
The restaurant was crowded, and the service was good although I felt the hostess was a little snooty at first But she warmed up.
The restaurant is spacious and has a quiet back area along with a noisy front.
I'm looking forward to making this another stop on another road trip soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Denise f.San Jose, CA307143Aug 1, 2023
We were very excited to celebrate a special occasion as we'd heard some good things about this restaurant. The ambiance is nice. Eclectic decor and a good vibe. Service was good, very friendly staff.
Two people in our group ordered the special lamb shoulder. It was so overcooked one person sent theirs back, which is not something we do easily. They couldn't cut into it with their knife. The server graciously replaced the dish. The second one was better but overly seasoned.
I ordered the sea bass and it was completely burnt on the bottom. At first I thought it was charred but this was well past char. It was simply burnt. Additionally it was very salty. I wasn't able to eat it and was surprised the server didn't ask me when he saw my food was virtually untouched.
My daughter ordered the gnocchi which was not cooked through. She wasn't able to eat it. Again, the server boxed up the food without inquiring why it wasn't touched.
So much of the food was bad, and this place has such good reviews, we wonder if someone in the kitchen was new.
A disappointing meal.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - C G.Morgan Hill, CA13215Jan 2, 2024
Attended the Odeum New Year's Eve dinner for the 3rd serving and was highly disappointed in all aspects. Reservation for third seating was supposed to be at 9:45 but they were running about 30 minutes late and had no coordination of who would be seated when. The advertisement was $150 per person for a "5 course Chef's Tasting menu" but we were given menus with only 4 courses. The music was way too loud to enjoy conversation and the food, for being a chef's tasting, was mediocre at best. Service was sporadic and they brought out the next course before finishing the previous. We left at 11:30 to go home and enjoy New Year's instead of continuing to endure a very bad experience. Done with Odeum after this debacle.
