Odessa is the ultimate diner in NYC, hands down.
I have been coming here for years now and have NEVER been disappointed in the food or service.
Whether you stop by to eat at any time of the day or get delivery (super fast), you will not be disappointed.
Quality food at incredibly reasonable prices will keep me coming back for a long time.
Most Important fact(well to me)... they will make you any drink. I had been searching the east village for a Pina Colada who would have thought I would find it here at Odessa?
Not me... but it happened.
Now one may think mixing a Pina Colada with beet soup and stuffed cabbage would be bad, but you aren't me and feel free to order something else.
I've never had the non-polish food on the menu: Blintzs.. perogies... etc. so I can not be a judge of anything other than that... but the food I have had has been great. Including and not limited to the Sweet Potato Perogies.
The one negative I have is: I am not a fan of their sauerkraut. Sorry. I said it, not a fan.
When you aren't sure what you're in the mood for and want something you know will satiate and not let you down... go to Odessa.
If all dive places were this good, they would call them something else. You might here a song from a musical, followed by MJ, followed by House of Pain while you dine. However, you won't care. You also will probably have been drinking.
I love a lot of the food, but I usually will order the sweet potato pierogies or the cheese blintzes. Both are very good. From what I gather from those I've dined with, the other items on the menu are pretty good as well.
The waiters are very friendly, encourage drinking, and the food is served pretty quickly.
Also, to note, they have really good pina coladas in an odd twist. I would never have pegged this place to even have them available, yet be good.
On a side note, I left a jacket there, thought it was lost, came back a week later...they still had it.
If you know you are eating at a dive and can enjoy the atmosphere, you will love this place. If you have been drinking prior, you may decide to never leave.
After a handful of good experiences at Polonia, right around the corner on 1st ave, I decided to spread the love and hit Odessa.
Like another poster wrote, this is a real diner. The food will not blow you away, but the quality is good, fresh, and cheap. I had the breakfast special: 2 eggs anyway you like 'em, toast, homefries (the soft but crusty burnt kind with some peppers for good measure), coffee, and a small juice....$4! Add a buck for bacon (3 generous strips) or sausage.
I sat at the counter and got good friendly quick service. While waiting I checked out the full menu and noticed:
- they are open 24/7
- they serve bfast all the time
- they deliver
I'll def be back to try the pierogies and kielbasa dealy.

Basically, I can't come visit the city without a trip to Niagara followed by a visit to Odessa.
I have spent many nights (mornings?) in its cozy booths, devouring disco fries and (also fried) pierogies.
While they're not the best pierogies I've ever eaten, they certainly seem like the best at the time. I'd also eat there sober, though I never actually have. So take that as you will.
Staff is friendly, service is quick. It's a must on a night out in the Village.
Perfect for what it is- quick breakfast and suuuper cheap. Friendly and attentive service. open 24 hours. done.
Now this is a story
all about how my life
got twisted upside down
and id like to take a minute
just sit right there
ill tell you how i came to know
of Odessa Diner
In west Astoria
hungry and laze
on the couch
i spent most of my days
chilling out, maxing
and relaxing all cool
munchin on snacks
and a bottle of O'doul's
when a couple of guys
they were up to no good
decided to burn down the diner in our neighborhood
i wanted more than a bite and my girl got scared
she said were going
with your auntie to the Odessa Diner
i whisted for a cab and when it came near
the license plate said fresh
and had dice in the mirror
if anything i could say that this cab was rare
but i thought nah, forget it
yo homes to East Village
i-pulled- up to Avenue A
i yelled to the cabbie yo home, smell you later
looked at my kingdom i was finally there
to chow down on the french toast, at the Odessa Diner

I'm a very sub goal person, so, I'm the kind of guy that randomly at night feels like eating pancakes, or it's Sunday in the afternoon and I need some french toast because it's my day off and that's why this place is really good.
The space itself is very big and the staff is very friendly, they smile at you, small talk and fast orders. Now, the food itself is good, I mean it's nor gourmet nor cuisine, but it doesn't fall in the junk food category, everything is fresh made. Very tasty and it's breakfast all day man! ALL DAY! That's is VERY good!
I figure if there's a benevolent god of dive bars, he used his divine wisdom to craft this place as an answer to my dive bar prayers. I cannot be more clear that the bar side of Odessa is not wonderful or terrible, but a perfect zen ying yang balance of both at the same time.
The walls are wood paneled, adorned with truly bad art -- think 1970s paintings of ships and Grecian vistas in the original frames probably from Zayres or something. The lighting is so perfectly dim that you can move about without falling on your face but can't see the 29 years' worth of dust that probably covers most of the decor. The seating is mostly red booths that appear to be of the same era as the art, complete with a pimp booth in the front window. Service is brusque but effective and satisfactory. Christmas lights are above the full bar, diner stools in front of it and appropriately hipster bartenders behind it. The music, at least during my visits, has been cheesy 80s pop, adding to the overall feeling of 'If I didn't know this was 2009, I'd think I just stepped into 1982.'
As for the food, I have never strayed beyond the pierogis and frankly, probably never will. These are delightful -- the sweet potato disappointed a bit--they're not bad, just not as good as I hoped; but cheese, potato and spinach were all outstanding. My braver (and twice as Polish) friend will vouch for the sauerkraut ones as well.
I think Odessa is great but can say honestly that if you can't embrace and love the mostly unintentional kitschy badness of it, you will probably not like it. Which is fine. More pierogis and vodka crans for me.

Though its name is, obviously, Russian, and so are some of the offerings, the restaurant seems to be owned by Greeks.
Nonetheless, this combination diner, restaurant, bar and offbeat hangout
had the best Hallah French Toast I have EVER had in my life.
I can say this, because I have usually had no other choice but to make my own, in order to make it the way that I like it. Golden on the outside, and melt-in-your-mouth soft and moist with egg and milk on the inside - and sweet. But not so sweet as to prevent me from dousing it in a ton of maple syrup which just amps up the taste of the french toast and the extra crisp bacon I ordered with it.
The bacon itself was a marvel. Four or five huge strips of crisp, well-done-to-perfection (the fat rendered away) salty and crunchy goodness - a divine counterpoint to the sweet, moist challah toast and sweet syrup. I can also say - without qualification - that this was the best bacon I have had in years. Most of the time, when you order bacon well-done or crisp, it comes back burned, or chewy. Not here.
I ordered from the brunch menu and all of the items included a bloody Mary (or choice of other drink or beverage).
A note about the Bloody Mary: especially when served during brunch, you can expect the usual: a little bit of vodka with a generous amount of Bloody Mary mix. Again, I was totally surprised about how strong it was. More surprising, when I ordered a second drink, was that it was only $4.00!
The menu, which has almost anything you might want in a diner or deli, also has pirgogies, blintzes, wraps and Italian pasta dishes (a bit odd, but I saw someones plate and it didn't look half bad) is very extensive.
The couple behind us -who looked like college students on summer vacation - were enjoying a burger and a 'special' of avocado-salad- platter of humongous proportions. They were very happily digging into their food and left with tremendous satisfaction on their faces.
The Sunday brunch specials were mostly 9.99, and my portion was so huge, I honestly couldn't finish it. (And, if I were not very hungry and it was not so delicious, I'd say it was big enough for two).
I can't wait to come back here to try some of their other dishes. But, honestly, I think this is going to be just my official spot for French Toast, from now on. I love to explore, but once I find something I love, I tend to to be a 'repeat offender.' This dish qualifies for indulgence, if not outright abuse!

Our group of 6 came to this place after an E-Hustle! show...after we ordered with the waiter, another waitress comes up behind us and starts asking how the food was...I said great, if we had it already...she goes, you haven't gotten your food yet? PA? WHAT THE $&#^? Get them the food, they are hungry...then she said to one member of the party, "why are you looking me up and down? My face is up here baby! Then I saw her face for the first time...whoa...I am gonna divert my eyes back down to what I was looking at before, along with all the other guys in the group because it went from a got milk commercial that would warm one's heart to halloween in cuba...oh lordy...
Then we realize that she is holding a guest check and money because, well she isnt just any waitress...she is a fake waitress..this chick is a customer. Why she is at our table wildin out, I have no idea, but she was drunk and really aggressive. It made me quickly think to myself, micheal jackson is a real messed up individual...first, he goes and becomes white, leaving thousands of black micheal jackson impersonators without jobs...then he goes and stops singing, leaving the people who could play in thriller on broadway without work. Yep, I am gonna hold my tongue about where I think Micheal Jackson can stick it...though its somewhere that the sugar sunshine bakery don't shine my friend.
So our food comes. I ordered a burger. I got a burger. I also got some pathmark onion rings but, they were indeed onion rings. So i am eating my cheese burger and I say to myself, how nifty, two puffy buns. I look at another burger...how nifty, to flat buns. Then I realize, they gave me two tops and another person two bottoms. WOW. So it wasnt a fatal mistake but it was pretty serious. I was sesame seed rich for the night!
Then Micheal Jackson's gift to the recession, busty zombie, came back and was with some other drunk friends. One was kinda cute, but she was obviously a member of Monsters, Inc., so I told the guys in my group to be easy.
So three stars, cause Odessa might as well be a theme park. food, breasts, monsters...I wonder if they are interested in Franchisees.

I've been this place several times and never knew what's called.. their food is just alright.. breakfast all day long.. typical late night hangout.. sober up spot..usually these spots full with people with characters.. if you are drunk.. fun to join them.. if you are sober.. fun to watch them.. entertainment is the KEY here
Honestly if you want some real food.. so many places on ave A serves better. but if you never been here.. wants to experience the "culture"... be my guest!

I went back to Odessa yesterday for something that wasn't breakfast for once, and I figured that I should echo everyone's praise over the amazing pierogies and kielbasa. I got the combination ($8.50) which comes with a heaping pile of sauerkraut, four pierogies of your choosing, and an enormous kielbasa. It's an insane amount of food and its absolutely delicious. Go eat it, now!

For what it is, I guess it's a hot spot... everyone always talks about Odessa like it's they're favorite spot in the east village. I guess it has that 24hour-late-night-save-my-drunk-ass allure that keeps em coming back.
I'm not much of an american breakfast guy, but I do like the french toast here, passably... Also the waiters are characters. They seem like they've been around longer than time itself!
Ok, I guess I like the character of the place, and the drama, am just not really a big eggs + bacon fan...

I love Odessa.
Let us not confuse the diner with the cafe. When i say i love Odessa, i love the Cafe... the dimly lit ambiance, the friendly wait staff, the stuffed cabbage and peirogis to die for.... and a full bar of course.
This place, cliched though it may be, is my favorite spot n NY. I will gladly take people there at any time. Not just taking advantage of its 24 hour facilities. I go for brunch too.... though i might add that the dark lighting makes for better evening feel.
Do not hesitate in going... you will love it.

Beef Pierogis & Apple Sauce for $4 @ 2AM just because. No problem.
Stopping here on a rainy day for some inexpensive diner food can be a wise choice.
They didn't have bananas or strawberries last time I needed my french toast & fruit combo, so that was a bummer.
Overall, decent food, less than average price.

if we're lazy to cook, this is our go-to spot for a quick, cheap breakfast. the customer service is always on point... friendly and genuine. the food is food. average. sometimes better than average.
for me and the hubs, it's our favorite nyc diner. think seinfeld. this would be the monks equivalent.
you can't go wrong with:
the 2 egg special with challah bread
challah bread french toast
bacon, egg and cheese on an english muffin
at night, the other half turns into the craziest 70s bar you've ever seen. and they're always shooting films in there. definitely a quintessential east village joint.
Menu, service, and decor just like every other greek diner. The food is cheap and servings are large. The standard cheese is american, which I really dislike but that's not their fault.
The servers are very friendly, and get the fourth star for letting my friend use their outlet to charge his phone, having a clean bathroom, and giving us accurate and clear directions. These are the things which make or break a diner.
I Wanna Me Some Odessa!
Odessa is your perfect late night, dark, laid back & low key, dive bar diner! Let me put it this way... it's the perfect spot to meet up on a creepy first Internet date. I'm joking, but I'm not joking. (lol)
I come here once in awhile at night when I don't feel like being bothered, want a low key meal and good convo with a friend or I want to hide from my zillions of "in crowd" friends in the city when I'm not feeling my best.
This is plain and simple, a dive bar diner! But I love that honestly. I also do NOT come here for the food but they have great perogies & sweet apple blintzes. I never came here during the day, nor have I honestly wanted to see what this place looks like in the daylight. This is a great night time, late night spot!
Once in awhile you'll catch a couple of lonely cuties sitting at the bar, and they have a not so bad music selection. One night I heard some great James Taylor hits and then the next song after that was "Today was a good day" By Dr. Dre. It's a funky mix, just like the lower east side is! Check it out if your walking around one late night on Avenue A. ;o)

Legendary spot in the East Village. Been coming here since '95, mostly for the atmosphere. Spinach perogies are recommended--and coming from Manitoba I know a thing or two about perogies. It's been my experience that if you take care of the bartender he'll take care of you. You can come here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but it's most fun to be here after midnight with the people you really dig.

I'm staaahhvin ova heeeyyaaah!!
So after flying the Virginal American skies for a very long 6 hours with no working TVs or the ability to order away from your seat (booo, this is the whole reason I fly Virgin America), my friend and I were what notable physicists like to refer to as, fucking starving.
After sitting through traffic out of JFK and finally getting to the hotel, checking in and then flopping down on our beds at 1am, we needed some grub. And some late night grub at that. And so, remembering the tasty late night wing delivery dining from my last trip out here, I jumped on Foodler and searched for Atomic Wings only to find, Wah wah, they don't deliver to our SoHo hotel. Boooooooooooooo.
We then enacted Plan B and called down to the front desk and asked if he knew of any late night delivery places for wings. He then told me to come down and check out their huge menu book. I did and pulled 3 places with wings on the menu and went to it. One was closed, the other we missed by 5 minutes as the delivery cutoff and that left Odessa.
My traveling companion was dealing with a pretty fierce migraine at this point as well, so the amounts of comfort food also listed on the menu sounded hopeful. And so we ordered the following: An open-faced hot turkey sammich with cranberry sauce, a pastrami Reuben and of course, the Buffalo Wings (cuz we had to, sheesh.)
After about 45 minutes the food arrived and it was a truly happy moment. Finally the grumbling in our tummies would be silenced! We divvied up the food and realized they didn't bring both Sprites, bummer, but they did bring all the food and boy was it tasty. I don't think I've seen a Reuben of this magnitude on the West Coast for a very long while and it was poetry. Seriously, this thing weighed more than my handbag!!
As for the wings, i have to say, I wasn't really impressed. They weren't the wings we were looking for, so I definitely wouldn't order them again. But overall, Odessa, with her home cookin and late night hours, definitely hit the spot and lulled us into a sweet food coma as we watched Oprah and yelled at the TV.
Ahhh, traveling :)

East Village A-list.
Last week I ate here twice. The burger was canonical, delicious and cheap. Deluxed it with fries for a price around $6. Good fries.
On the other visit, I tried the chicken strips with honey mustard. These were not perfect. The crispiness of the breading, temperature of the meat, and portion size were all just right. The problem was that the underlying meat was cut across the grain, resulting in a tender without real structural integrity. I believe part of the appeal of a good chicken tender is the way the flesh tears into strips. The tenders at Odessa break lazily into chunks.
Despite this issue with the chicken grain, I give Odessa my full endorsement. As with any diner, you have to figure out what's good and what's just alright. The burger alone was enough to justify several return visits. I will continue to explore.

when you think it's a good idea to order the pierogies for delivery at 4am in the morning...it's not.
they film stuff inside a lot, and i'm convinced it's where half the dead bodies are found on law&order.
Odessa . . . I love this place! It's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. If you want to go to a dark, cavernous dive whose decor hasn't been updated since the 60s, have a drink or a snack in the bar area and enjoy the low key scene -- it's one of the few places that isn't inundated with obnoxious weekend crowds and it's somewhere to hide if you must, in fact, be out in the East Village on a Saturday night. But if you've already drank away most of the evening and you're now craving that winning meal of mozzarella sticks, a burger with fries and a slice of pie, go to the brightly-lit, senior citizen-inspired diner area and chow down. The wait staff are nice, the menu is expansive and you and your late night self will be taken care of, stat.
I hope Odessa never, never closes. It's open 24/7 and always willing to receive you with open arms. I've had many a late night fried food fest there, as well as plenty of hungover Sunday morning egg breakfasts that I didn't pay more than $5 for. Sometimes you just need somewhere to go that isn't all clubbed-out, music thumping, neon lights and see-and-be-seeners, and Odessa is it. You get something a little bit rugged and real, not virally marketed, overhyped, blogged about or trendy -- a comfortable vestige of the past. If I had one bad thing to say about Odessa it would be that the food is really nothing to write home about -- I'd give the food alone 2 stars -- but that's kind of the point. It's acceptable diner fare and their prices are so low that your wallet will barely notice you've spent any money.

The Odessa Cafe is like a mangy mutt--it hasn't been cleaned in a while, seems neglected, and is not the most aesthetically pleasing, but is completely endearing nonetheless. Stiff drinks poured by friendly bartenders, accompanied by kielbasa and pierogies when drunk muchies hit (there is an Odessa kitchen open 24 hours--sometimes in the Cafe, and all the time in the adjacent diner), all dirt cheap, have won my heart.
Just avoid the bathroom if you can--that puppy could really use a bath.

Please don't confuse the diner with the next door cafe of the same name. This diner is fantastic. So perfect for after partying til 4am in and around the Lower East Side. When I was growing up in the area it was called the "Lower East Side (LES)" but now it's the "East Village" thanks to the douche bag hipsters (no apologies). I digress. The diner always has available seating and the wait service is pretty great. Please, for the love of god, try the fried potato pierogies with an extra side of onions. Phenomenal. If you have room for more, your typical diner breakfast is always great (pancakes with bacon, eggs, bacon & home fries, Belgium waffles, etc.). Also fantatic for brunch.
Three stars because I am really confused right now. This place is a diner?! I didn't so much as see a waiter or get a menu when I came here one regular Saturday night. The bartender was awesome and the drinks were delicious and cheap. I am most definitely going back here to try the food.

Odessa is an Eastern European diner-type place in the East Village. It's been open for about 50 years, I think - and until Christmas Day of 2007, I hadn't eaten there since moving away from the East Village in 1982. Their menu is *huge* and the prices are very reasonable. I didn't think the food was memorable, but it was certainly decent. Portions were adequate and the service was good (a little brusque, but also very prompt). However, our server let us sit there for about two hours because they didn't need our table (we were a group of five people). The other nice thing was that we had a window table in a sort of alcove and it was a sunny/cool day; very cozy. Odessa is open 24 hours/day.

One of the others in my Holy Trinity of pierogi-centric late night dining. Veselka's the other one, and Kiev is just a memory. I find the pierogies here to be equal in quality to those at Veselka, and at least in the past you'd get a couple extra for the same price. Of course, a long time ago, Odessa wasn't open as late and has gotten a pretty big makeover, but I still love it. This is one of the many reasons I desperately miss living in the city.
This place is great to have in the neighborhood - this is the only true diner place that I think the east village has. There was one on 2nd ave but it closed and is now a Korean restaurant. 7A and Sidewalk are not diners - they are restaurants with simple food (good but simple). Odessa serves anything from pancakes to sandwiches to burgers to pies. The prices are very very affordable and diner-appropriate. The service is quick and fairly attentive when you need something. With the current economy I don't know how they can afford to keep prices so low. They also deliver, which I like. The food is good and portions are huge!
If you're in the mood for diner and you don't want to drive outside the city to find a good one this is your place.
This is a review for ODESSA BAR (next door to the diner).
Awesome little bar. A great spot to come get a drink in a cool little dimly lit booth and at the same time get some grub.
Recap: Fun cozy booths, good prices, good ambiance, good food.
- neighborhood staple
- not particularly great at anything but not terrible either. . . much like type O blood
- the menu can be a bit intimidating, especially for an indecisive person, as it is quite extensive
- convenient if you're wandering over from Odessa's bar counterpart, which I believe closes around 4am (it's been a while)

I've successfully escaped from hangover world many a times in this time capsule of a diner (be sure to dine in the section with the retro decor, not the modern diner look).
I don't know much about this history of the East Village, but this place feels like it's been there forever and hasn't changed one bit. The section with the retro decor comes replete with fake-wood paneled walls, with flea-market oil paintings hanging here and there, under a ceiling resembling a maroon shag carpet. There are a few booths along the side wall across from a simple bar, above which the stars of classic hollywood preside in old glamour shots.
Usually, I come in on a Sunday afternoon for a hangover recovery brunch. Around 3pm, Odessa's is relatively quiet. The late sun illuminates the haze in the dim room, giving it a lazy, sleepy feel. The music mix of 80's and 90's freestyle hits accentuates the retro atmosphere, and adds a feel-good, relaxed vibe.
I always get the lunch special, a menu with a couple dozen dishes that come with coffee and a screwdriver or bloody mary, all for around $10. If it's quiet, you can take your time, read the paper, and let the coffee and alcohol slowly re-energize you and push away the headache from the previous night. The food is pretty good for diner food - try the pierogies combo platter - and the service is always friendly and welcoming Sunday afternoons.
I once spent six hours here, eating and drinking, talking with friends, and just relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. Very chill. At a certain point though, the retro section stopped serving food and became a bar for the evening, at which point we all slowly got up and went home, our stomachs happy and our spirits rejuvenated for another night out.

Oh, Odessa... You are always there for me, day and night, when the diner food cravings hit.
Like last night when I had dinner plans elsewhere but was canceled on at the last minute... And by that, I mean my friend backed out of plans an hour after we were supposed to meet up. Brutal. (Yes, I was ditched! Can you believe it?!)
So, it's 9:30 on a Sunday night. I'm all alone, feeling rejected, and oh so hungry. And there you are, with open doors, welcoming me in and filling my belly with a delicious comforting feast. I went with chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese with tomato, and fries. A classic. And you always get it right, Odessa. Consistent and loyal to the end... unlike some people!
But I'm not bitter about getting ditched or anything. Well, maybe a little. But at least I'm not hungry anymore.

Fantastically cheap. I endorse the breakfast special, you end up paying like 3 or 4 bucks! The food is pretty good too, definitely a great value. They won't keep you waiting for long after you order. Sometimes it takes a while to get the waiter's attention, though, but that may just be a Sunday morning thing.

Although not the cleanest place, and i am being kind, it has great prices and fills the void left by Teresa's move. The potato pancakes were yummy, and the blintzes were more than adequate for our
breakfast. The barley-mushroom soup was poor-- don't try, don't try!
The service was fast, very polite, if not so clean. We look forward to
returning for our Eastern European breakfast.

Odessa is a strange place, or places. There is the standard brightly lit diner side and the darker bar/diner side. They are separate places joined only by the kitchen. I can't say that I prefer one to the other because even though I've gone there so many times over the years I can't really say I like it. Their menu is huge to the point of being ridiculous. It's better to me a master of something, than a Jack of all trades.
Their breakfast is just okay. You can do much better by walking over to 2nd Avenue and eating at Veselka. The Burger here is nothing at all special. Their spinach pie tastes like dish soap. I usually eat here when others that I know are. I've rarely walked in on my own.
They do have one thing that I like very much, the Chicken Bronco Sandwich. This is a grilled chicken with caramelized onion, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, etc.. HOWEVER it is not on the menu at the diner side. It's only on the paper menu at the bar side. I spent a while one day insisting that I had seen a sandwich, that I couldn't remember the name of, on the menu next door. They insisted that the two menus were exactly alike. Finally I went next door after they refused to check and brought them back a menu that had Chicken Bronco on it. They just seemed pissed off about being wrong, though I got my sandwich.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that Odessa sucks.

The prices are OK. Not "screamingly wonderful" as some reviewers may have made them out to be, but reasonable (as in, I got out of there for less than 12 bucks).
I ordered my old standard, the cheeseburger. When I got it, the burger was open (that is, it wasn't compiled as a sandwich). Normally I appreciate this, as it enables me to remove what belongs in a salad and not a burger, but here it only proved to confound me, as the cheese was melted not to the burger but to the bun. And it was that horrid "cheese-food" plastic wrap kind. Yuk-a-puk!
That being said, I liked their fries. But I will not be returning unless someone invites me.
Hangover Helper.
The eyes crack open as if they were sealed shut with sticky dried soda. Consciousness. The first sensation is the parched mouth. Dehydrated. Then comes the Indian War Dance in your head. Hurtin'. You catch a whiff of your immediate atmosphere and wince. Stinkin'. You glimpse yourself in the mirror, stop, take a closer disgusted look. Puffy.
Sound like you? Well Odessa is just what you need friend! Why, no tonic, no syrup, no elixer, no powder, no hair-o-the-dog has the curative effects of breakfast at Odessa. Step right up hungover hipsters and order up a plate of eggs and kielbasa, pierogies with sour cream or apple sauce and a blintz. The unique amalgam of protein, dairy products and greases has been known to the ancient Ukranians for generations as the perfect cure for the morning after. A people as hard drinkin' as any the world has known are wise in the ways of bucking up bombed Boris with breakfast so he can beat it to the barn and bring in the bulgar. Yes friends, for just $7.95 (prices may vary) you too can take the cure, fill your belly with the goodness of the steppes and be on your way.
Please folks, do remember to shower first before coming down.

I'm pretty sure this place is Ukrainian, although it has been called Greek, Polish and Russian in other Yelp reviews. Wherever they're from, they have perfected the New York diner.
I usually stick to my diner staples:
Eggs & potatoes
Club Sandwich
Chili con carne
All are superb here. This is my favorite place to go for brunch on the weekends when every other brunch hotspot is ass-to-elbow (is that the right expression or did I just make that up??). Tables o'plenty and nice eastern european waitresses poised to take your order.
Freaking awesome!
