OK another place where you can meet an old Texas Pirate and never even know you were meeting one. The owner Stu Wells assures me he's not a Pirate but I've seen Him In action buying seafood from the local fishermen and he Is ruthless at the bargaining table. The result is very competitive prices on seafood PLUS you can eat here or buy the stuff raw and take it to your condo to cook it.. (why smell up the condo)
Stu just updated the patio and the plans for the future include a second story deck for a harbor view.
He also added Beer to the menu so if the crowd gets rowdy you can drink a few beers and rowdy right back ,
Clean rest rooms and Salty decorations . You can even buy shells and souvenirs here. Thats about all you can ask for without a cover charge. -

I've had better seafood at Long John Silvers... for much less money. Where do I start?
Fish Tacos! They advertise it like it's an item they have pride in, but ughhh no one would have pride in these. It's fish in a flour tortilla with lettuce and shredded cheese. An insult to fish taco connoisseurs everywhere.
Prices: The appearance of this place makes it look like the tasty fried-fish, hole-in-the-wall secret honey spot we see in almost every small tourist town. Neither the prices or the food match up. We paid over 100 bucks for 6 people(including kids) and walked away both hungry and unimpressed.
Service: They display signs everywhere that "parties of 6 or more have 15% gratuity added." Which must of meant to them that since we had six people, they didn't have to worry about quality service. For a $20 tip in less than 45 min of work, you'd better shine my shoes, brush my teath and comb my hair. The fact that we had to even ask for drink refills or lemons voids any thought of additional tipping. I was tempted to put on my "A-hole" hat and argue the auto-tip. These folks seemed to be too eager to close-up. We weren't customers to them, but rather an inconvenience.
Take my word(and read my other reviews to see that I'm a very generous reviewer.) Don't eat here! You'll thank me -

Staff was friendly and welcoming. That's a plus and a rarity in Port Aransas. Shrimp in the case looked a little sketchy to me, but of course it was Sunday afternoon.
My wife wanted scallops anyway. Again, I am not sure these are local. They came frozen with a promise that they were still very fresh. And actually i found that to be true after we cooked them up. Probably some of the best I've had.
There's a menu, but we didn't try any food. There seemed to be a lot of fried offerings which I would have been down for and some beers of course. But my wife was in charge! The place was kind of divey and I think I could have enjoyed an hour or so of drinking there. I was in that kind of mood after the disappointment that was Moby Dick's.Listed in: Port Aransas the tourist trap

I've been buying seafood here for years long before they had a restaurant. The prices are probably not the cheapest in town but oceans always seems clean and isn't overtly fishy smelling. Which I know may seem strange if your in a place that serves fish but that tells me the stuff they have is always fresh. With many places to buy fresh seafood oceans of seafood should be at the top of your list.

I ate here last week while on vacation. I was not impressed with my food or the price. The service lacked a lot as well. I ordered a fried shrimp basket and there was no difference in taste between the fries and the shrimp. As one review said, it was ran by teenagers who were all hanging out at the table next to me having a good time. It was right at 20 dollars and I had water to drink. I thought that was kinda high for such a small place. I visit Port A several times a year and i think ill avoid this place.

Ugh. I can't believe we decided to eat here. Worst decision ever. The neon orange exterior should have caught our attention (in fact, I think now it's screaming "DO NOT EAT HERE"), but our sunburns must have exhausted our brains to work at half capacity......and we somehow decided after driving by that we would try it for dinner.
Poor decision.
The place is tacky, but not in a cute, endearing, or fun way. It's just tacky. The employees all appear to be about 16 years old, and had about as much customer service skill as a empty coke can. One employee was even smoking a cigarette right by the window where the food comes out from the kitchen and ashing into a nearby trash can. Hmm.
We sat ourselves, and immediately noticed that this place had ZERO atmosphere and seriously needed some music playing. The restaurant only has about 10 tables, and we could hear every word spoken at any given table. It was uncomfortable and awkward.
We were starving, and ordered immediately. Then, the long wait began.....15 minutes passed, 25 minutes, then it was 45 minutes. Mind you, the restaurant wasn't even full, and we were still waiting. We all ordered fried fish or fried shrimp, so it's not like they were having to do any serious or difficult food preperations for us back in the kitchen. In the 45 minutes we were waiting, no waitress had even come by the table to refill our drinks. So we finally asked, and the girl said she'd check. She came back about 10 minutes later to inform us that out food was "being plated" and would be out in 5-10 minutes.
About 15-20 minutes later the food FINALLY arrived (making our total wait time after ordering over one FRICKIN hour...ugggghhhh)
The only redeeming factor is that the food actually was pretty good. Then again...make me wait an hour and I bet anything would have tasted like gourmet fine dining.
If this is the best Port A has to offer for seafood, then eat a burger at Whataburger....I'm sure we just picked the wrong place. -

Oceans of Seafood is kind of hard to miss when you're driving down West Cotter in Port Aransas. You know, it's the one that is BRIGHT FREAKIN' NEON ORANGE and has big black letters screaming at you about how FREAKIN' DELICIOUS its seafood is.
Oh, yeah... THAT one.
Anyways, this place truly is pretty damned delicious. Once again, like many places in Port Aransas, it doesn't look like much--but the food will surprise you! It is a seafood market/restaurant--which is nice because you can not only eat the amazing food they have inside--but take some fresh seafood home for the road. The market itself isn't too large--but their shrimp sure are! I was surprised to find some of the biggest and best-looking shrimp I've ever seen inside their chests. It's just too bad we came a little after lunch and they were all sold out of fresh oysters!
The food here is cheap, tasty and relatively fast. You seat yourself, and the place just SCREAMS small-town atmosphere. The service is pretty horrible, but the food makes up for it pretty decently. Great place to stop and have a bite for lunch. The seafood--as you might guess--is extremely fresh. I had the fried fish and oyster basket, and it was insanely fresh. The fish were moist, flavorful and white. The oysters were to die for. The seafood gumbo was unique--it had lots of flavor, but was unusual because it was chock-full of tomatoes and corn and not as much seafood as one would expect--but still was somehow pulled off well.
Best part is--it was cheap! Plan on spending about $25 a couple.
Not the fanciest place in town--but definitely a "must stop" for any seafood lover. Probably one of the best lunch spots in town.
....guess that's why they got the place painted so bright. ;-)Listed in: Big City Flavor in Small Texas…

I was totally underwhelmed by this place. The seafood gumbo was bland and too thin, and our grilled amberjack was a little fishy tasting. Nice folks, and the service was decent, but the food is completely forgettable.

I almost hate to even say it because I don't want everyone to know, but this place has the best damn shrimp poboy ever created. And it's consistent - I went a year between having one and it was still fan freaking tastic. I ruined my younger brother on it who came for a visit and now will not eat anything else.
I guess I should clarify - it's not a traditional poboy and is called a hoagie - but the perfectly breaded shrimp, sweet crusty buttery bread and seasoning look like a poboy, so I'm running with it. Either way, totally delish. And the gumbo's not bad either. -

This was by FAR the worst service I have ever received in Port Aransas! We came in with a party of 12 on a Saturday night and was told they couldn't seat us all together. No biggie, we would just split out group into 2. The waitress started moving chairs and this old man came over and told her we couldn't all sit together. Then, half of our group left because the waitstaff acted totally put out by having to seat all of us (paying customers). We ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters and 3 orders of crab jalapenos. After an hour, we still didn't have our food, we were told there were still 5 tickets ahead of ours before we could even get our apps. Mind you, there are probably only 10 tables in the whole place and by this time, there was one party outside and one other table seated inside. I have no idea how there could have been 5 tickets still ahead of our being that we ordered an hour earlier. The old man was a jerk when we told him we were going to whataburger instead. It was obvious. I have never been treated so awful at any restaurant. We ended up eating at dairy queen and the service was a million times better! One of the staff was even walking around playing with her belly button ring. Absolutley disgusting. I would never think about stepping foot on this property again!
