I'm so happy that Travelzoo introduced me to this place. The signature treatment was fantastic, and not only that, it managed to get me out of the city. The drive down the CA 1 to Half Moon Bay was beautiful. I'll definitely be taking more excursions down to Half Moon Bay. Hopefully back to this spa as well! Normally-priced, it's a little pricey, but I think it will be well worth the treat every so often.

The spa is located in a great area right by the water, with a marina, shopping, and restaurants. Parking was not a problem at all. As another reviewer had mentioned, the entrance to the spa is a little confusing. I went through the Oceano Hotel and Spa reception area and had to ask for help, but the receptionist was very courteous and directed me to a door which led into the mall (I'm glad I asked for directions because I don't think I would otherwise have found it and end up wandering the hotel lobby for hours...).

The receptionist at the spa was the same one I'd arranged the appointment with. Both on the phone and in person, he was friendly, courteous, and professional. I failed to bring a printed copy of the Travelzoo voucher with me and he was beyond accommodating. We worked out how I could get them a hard copy of the voucher and I asked whether I should take care of it right away. He said not to worry about it, just relax in the waiting area and I could take care of it after everything was done.

The treatment included a glass of champagne, which I'm pleased I took before the treatment (I'll explain why in a bit).  I got to sip my champagne as I filled out the necessary paperwork-- which was just one page-- and wait for the masseuse.  The waiting room was very nice, cushy, and clean.  There were plenty of magazines and coffee table books to browse through as well, though I chose to take advantage of the free Wifi with my iPod.

The masseuse arrived in a timely manner and led me to a private room which, like the waiting room, was comfortable and clean.  I had initially requested medium pressure for the Swedish massage because I've never had Swedish massage before, but after the masseuse checked in with me, I requested to try firm pressure. That was much better, so in the future I won't be shy about requesting firm pressure for a Swedish massage. 30 minutes is pretty brief for a massage but this was a good intro to this style of massage.

After the Swedish massage was the facial treatment. I've never had a facial before, and this was very nice. I'm not really sure what she put on my face. There was very minor tingling, but nothing bad. And then she wrapped a warm towel around my face, which was fantastic. All in all, I'm glad to have this included in this particular treatment, but I'm not sure that I would pay full price to get the facial on its own. I'm fairly satisfied with my skin, so I don't really feel the need to pay lots of money for facials that I don't necessarily need.

Last was the foot treatment. It was AMAZING!!! There was a foot massage, and then she put something on my feet. I'm not sure what it was-- it kinda felt like warm petroleum jelly. It felt great though and it was even better when she wrapped my feet in warm towels. I'm fairly certain I fell asleep at this point... Definitely my favorite part of the treatment and the thing that I would certainly go back to Oceano for.

I should add that for some reason the power went out in the middle of my treatment in the whole spa and the rest of the treatment was done by the light of those LED candles. The masseuse was extremely apologetic, and threw in an extra hand massage and another glass of champagne (this was why I was glad I took my glass of champagne at the beginning-- the other ladies who were there at the same time saved their champagne for the end and probably only got one glass. Sweet! Free extra champagne for me!).  Quite honestly, the power outage did not detract from the experience at all, as I had my eyes closed most of the time and at some point may have actually fallen asleep.  But I think that it speaks volumes about the quality of service at the spa-- that they would go out of their way to make sure your experience is worth every cent you paid and more.  Hope I get to go back soon.

After purchasing a travelzoo special for their signature treatment several months ago, I decided to make the appointment.  It was so refreshing to call on a Wednesday and get the following saturday appointment so easily.

Once I got to the address I was a little confused as I did not see the spa; after calling, the receptionist explained the entrance was inside the "mall", (imagine my surprise!) I just drove over an hour from santa clara with some light traffic, for a mall spa (I hope not).

When I initially walked it I thought the mall so very cute and quaint.  It matched Half Moon Bay perfectly.  I found the hotel first and wanted to take a peak.  My intial thought was that it would be fantastic to stay here as the ambiance was very inviting, the front desk clerk then pointed back into the mall area and said the spa was a couple doors down...almost there.

The spa was very nice, and the staff were friendly.  I was walked back into the waiting room which was very colorful yet soothing.  After a couple of minutes Lillian arrived and walked me back to my  room.  The room was fantastic; equipped with a large personal shower and separate bathtub (better than Burke Williams rooms); complimented by a heated massage table.  Lillian explained my treatment and then gave me a few minutes to undress.

All three of my treatments were excellent. I was so relaxed and I loved the fact that I had one specialist instead of several, the experience was much more personable that way.  I was in heaven and wanted to go to sleep after my treatment, as it was so tranquil.  Lillian did a wonderful job and I hope to return very soon.

I hope they offer some more specials.

What a gem!  Had a couples massage with my sweetie today;  we started off with a soak in the big copper tub, it made me feel like a little kid to be in tub that deep, perfect for two - really great value ($25 per person).

The attention to detail at Oceano is meticulous, the reception area and lounge are as clean and well-appointed as a 4star hotel, real plants (not fake ones!) in all the rooms.  Nice heated treatment beds.  The place was empty on Labor day, the receptionist said that was odd but it's always a nice thing at a day spa, the area is family-friendly so I can see how it could get loud.  I'm really picky about where I get a pedicure, I would totally get one here, the chairs looked new and they had some fancy nail polish I have never seen before,  The vibe was really nice, not too formal and no upselling or pressure to visit again.

My massage was well timed, with a full head and foot massage at the end it felt more like 90 minutes, my boyfriend has some back issues and his therapist got right to it.

Massage was great!  I'm pretty sure I fell asleep.  I was in heaven.

Kelley's mani-pedi was awesome.  She gave *GREAT* tips on places to eat in town and was just a delight.  Thank you Kelley!

I booked a massage and brow and bikini wax.  The cool thing was that they emailed me a confirmation that listed the date, time and the names of the staff who would be performing my services and the prices.  I loved having the information at my fingertips.
I was impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the reception area of the spa.  Everyone I came into contact with was professional, well dressed, and polite.  The relaxation room and therapy rooms were peaceful and quiet, Tipawan was a skilled and sweet massage therapist, and Danielle did an excellent job on my brows.  She also made me feel very comfortable during my bikini wax.  I can't wait to go back!

I had bought the Signature Treatment through Travel Zoo and it was NOT worth the price. The treatment was suppose to include a 30 min massage, 30 min. mini-facial and 30 min. foot massage and glass of champagne. The staff took us into our room at 1:15 and completed all three treatment by 2:30. They shorted our treatment by 15 mins. I brought it to their attention but the massage staff came up with the stupious response -" the time includes drinking your champagne" and the front desk receptionist wasn't any more apologetic to the situation. The place is clean but the rest of the treatment was pretty weak.....there are alot better spas that would give you the time you paid for!!! They get you in there and then scam you!!!!!

Just a quick update to my earlier review.  I went to see Danielle for the Ocean Sea Salts manicure and pedicure and it was fabulous! Especially the pedicure. At 38 weeks preggers, getting my feet and ankles massaged with sea salts and lotions was HEAVEN. And I love that they use Sparitual polishes at Oceano - I think they're one of the safest non-toxic polishes on the market.
It's good to be local when it comes to Oceano!

My Fiance and I recently went the the Oceano Costal Spa for her birthday, and our experience was AMAZING.  It was seriously one of the best Spa Experiences we have both ever had.

We booked "The Signature Treatment" which included a 30 minute body massage, a 30 minute foot mask and massage, and a 30 minute facial.  We started the whole thing off with a 20 soak in the giant copper tub with a milk and honey tea bath.

We left after about 2 hours in pure bliss completely relaxed and refreshed.  We are going to have to make this a ritual....

    Highly recommended!  Check them out!

My fiance and I are getting married next weekend so I wanted to book us a spa day to relax and unwind before the big day! Oceano staff was incredibly helpful and polite from the very beginning. We did the private hot tub/steam room for 1 hour, followed by a couples massage session for 50-minutes. The private room was SOOO relaxing and romantic. It was a great way to unwind so we were really lose and relaxed for our massages. Brenda and Sean were AMAZING. My fiance had Brenda and said it was okay. She worked out some of his knots in his back really well, but it wasn't as "mindblowing" as I describe my massage from Sean. He paid attention to the areas I mentioned and really stretched out my hips (I'm a runner and have terribly stiff hips).

Lunch at Crab's Landing to top off the afternoon. Oceano was FABULOUS from start to finish!!!

Bought the Travel Zoo spa day coupon. Was told by staff on phone that discount packages were booked every weekend until August. She failed to realize that the date I asked for was a weekeday! Hint- If you need business then good customer service is always helpful.

Spa looks great inside however hotel/mall construction was right outside the door of the "relaxation room" and the  sauna, spa, and locker room area was closed/broken.This wasn't mentioned when booked.  Actual treatments were great but the "spa day" experience was not fulfilled.
Feel a little scammed by promotion and status of facilites.

Make sure you get the bathtub you want. The metal one in all the pictures is only available in the couples room. Instead you get a bit larger than a hotel-size plastic tub. Not worth $40. This spa seemed very high-end in decor but average in service.

I have to say, I visited the spa again a couple of weeks ago.  Before I had always been pleased, however this time I have two issues.  My masseuse this time was... hardly there, barely made any progress in loosening up my tight shoulders and back.  Almost scared to put some muscle into it.  Secondly, all of my local friends have raved how they get the local special... well - this is the second or third time I've told them I am local... and no discount!!  What - I have to BEG?  Sorry - I've sent many friends and clients here... no more!  Last - they could not fit in a much needed manicure on a weekend?  There was no one else there... they just did not want to be bothered.

It's a little strange staying there if you're not there for a wedding (not near town, many rooms look out onto a parking lot.  But rooms are nice, spacious.

I had an EXCELLENT deep tissue (really deep, the real thing) with Sean.  I highly recommend him.

Okay, from the moment I walked through the double doors and after the couple's massage and facial--I totally enjoy it. Shannon, the massage therapist was thorough and incredible and Katie customized a perfect facial for my sensitive skin. I'd drive back here for sure!!!

The appointment process was relatively easy as they were able to give me an appointment when I called the day before for the exact time I requested.  The facility overall was very peaceful and tranquil.  However, there were no showers readily available prior to the appointment.  There was one shower that they informed me could be ready for me after the spa treatment unlike other spas that might have showers for before and after.  The waiting room was also nice, but the private rooms seemed to have thin walls (at least the one I was in).  During the treatment I heard voices from the staff down the hall.  The massage I received from Shawn was exactly what I asked for from a pressure perspective (swedish with a bit of deep pressure).  The pricing was a bit high for a 30 minute massage ($65 for the sweedish and they tacked on another $10 for the deep tissue).   Overall I would return to this spa if I visited this area again.

Yes, it was a bit pricey compared to what we are used to but we were celebrating our 12th anniversary so we splurged and it was awesome! Actually, we saved a bit of money because my husband and I had a couples massage as part of a "getaway package" with the hotel. Our therapists were Shannon and Gina. The pressure was just right and if it weren't, I would have felt perfectly comfortable voicing that. I was impressed with the heated massage table and the extra pampering they did. Both of us absolutely loved it and were pure jello- in such a great way- when it was over. The aches we walked in with were gone. The whole staff was welcoming and the room was gorgeous, too!

Very nice, serene and peaceful.  A great alternative to the Ritz down south, and very comparable in terms of surroundings.  It's also easier to get in and out of.  I had a great massage by Shannon.  Would give 5 stars to be given a robe and if they had shower facilities.  But I'll go back again.
