I got the impression that Ocean World is a gift shop first and an aquarium second -- the gift shop had and overwhelming amount of knick-knacks and souvenirs that had little to do with fish.
That said, though, I really enjoyed myself. Though the aquarium was very small, the tour guide was an animal trainer who was very knowledgeable in his first-hand experiences. There was also a very impressive show afterward with a seal and a sea lion. -

Sometimes small-time offers some of the best times. Great little aquarium with a sea lion show! Fun!

We stopped at this funky little place while on a road trip returning from Oregon. Partly fun, partly cheesy and mostly educational, this place comes off initially as the attraction time forgot but becomes a surprise once you get into it. It's essentially a mini zoo for sea life. I think the place could use a little help. You can tell it had some bygone glory days but, my 6-year-old will tell you that it gave her a great up close experience with sharks --- she even got to touch a small one ---- and a chance to compare her wing span with a sting ray!

Very entertaining for about an hour, and a great place to take pictures. Our tour guide was funny and full of interesting facts I never knew. You get to pick up starfish and sea urchins and pet a tiger shark. You also get to view seal and sea lion training sessions.
The exhibit is on an old glass bottom boat that adds to the kitschy vibe of the experience. Great for adults and kids. -

This is a fun place to kill about 30 minutes. It is a bit of tourist trap, but the staff is amusing, the shark petting tank is neat, and the seal show is adorable.
Most of the stuff in the tide pool exhibit can also be found around the Battery Point area for free, but this a safer and easier way to play with sea stars and such without worrying about tides and sneaker waves.
We don't have kids, but we still found it to be fun. -

A bit of cheesy roadside attraction. About a twenty minute tour of an aquariam. It was neat to touch a shark, the kids especially liked that part. There is a small hands on pool and the kids also like that. The tour ends in the gift shop, so the kids will be sure to ask for something. Be sure to pick up the brouchure to get your 10% discount.
If you want to see a great Aquarium and are traveling north, see the Oregon Coast Acquarium. Much larger and you get to walk in a tube through the water with the fish all around you. -

A few years ago we took a trip to Oregon, and decided to make a detour on the way back to Sacramento.
The staff here are really knowledgeable about the animals and were quite entertaining too.
It's cheesy and small but great! -

Wow...this place is way better than it looks from the outside. It was a great stop and break along our 500 mile road trip. The 3 year old really enjoyed herself. You get to see the marine life up close, pet a shark and see a show by the sea lions all for a under $9 a person. Billy was a great guide and very informative.

We stopped off here on our way to the Redwoods. It was a small place but it was fun and fairly inexpensive. My 9 year old loved that he got to pet a shark there - which is the main attraction of this place. But he also enjoyed seeing the seals put on a little show.

This was a lot of fun! (Which is unexpected because it's sort of in the middle of nowhere.) I can't say I've ever petted a shark before, but I definitely got a chance here. The employees were very nice, the gift shop had a lot of great items, and the animals were great. The seal show was a treat, and it was wonderful watching the little kids touch the starfish and urchins. It definitely needed some renovated when we visited, but it's just a nice experience while driving about.

This is small town does under the sea world. Entertaining for all ages, touch a shark, watch the host talk with a crab hat and learn about the ocean surrounding the area. Definitely a highlight.

My lil 4 year loved this, she got to pet a shark and hold a starfish. The tour guide knew her stuff and it was a fun little tour. They also had a good gift shop, sure wish they sold real Coast taffy....
