I love eggs benedict and tend to over praise them. That's not going to happen here because this was the worst eggs benedict I've had. Perhaps I've been lucky and spoiled. The two poached eggs were well cooked, but there was too much avocado whose consistency didn't create a contrast with the eggs. The hollandaise sauce looked and tasted like lemon gravy. Although the nut English muffins were very good on their own, when covered with a sun dried tomato pesto, eggs, and avocado, the muffin was completely lost. I liked the potatoes, but I also like onions. If you don't like onions, be careful.

My girlfriend had the BBQ chicken omelette. When she asked me to finish the three-egged monster because it was twice as much food as she could eat, I refused. It wasn't worth eating because the BBQ sauce was too sweet and that's all I could taste. The construction of the omelette was disappointing. The cheese was tucked to one side and the eggs weren't integrated with the ingredients but were pancake-shaped scrambled eggs laid on top of the goodies like crust covering a blueberry buckle.

I see that they're trying to do more than IHOP and appreciate that. So it pains me to say that their gallant attempt was a misfire.

We had a late Sunday brunch at the Omelette Parlor, and it was everything I was hoping for.  Immediately offered coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice as soon as we sat down.  Great selection of omelettes and other breakfast fare.  Most of the food comes with hashbrown-like potatoes, which are very tasty, and the omelette and Egg Benedict we got were also really nice.

Service was great, though the food took a little long to come after we ordered.  Parking can also be irritating around that area, but there is a long strip of paid parking behind the restaurant.

Great classic, Santa Monica breakfast joint.

    Clean, simple breakfast/lunch menu.
    Maya Sonrisa omelette, was ok.
    2+2+2 is a great deal.
Oatmeal comes in a huge bowl, perfect for a rainy day.
Cheeseburger hit the spot, with a side of avocado and BBQ sauce...yum!

Love the decor, beach history, antiques and the patio takes you to a tranquil place.
    Service is friendly and swift.

    Will be back for more.

I LOVE this place! The Cali Benedict is amazing, I always get it with the sauce on the side because they just dump sooo much of it on. To be honest I have not been able to order any other dish but I do take bites of friend's dishes when I go and I have to say that I haven't tasted anything I didn't like. I have taken numerous friends, my cousin, my boyfriend (all though he isn't that into it) and even my parents here. If you love breakfast food you must try this place!

Holy omlettes! This is the place to go all out if you're in the mood for some eggs. The space is adorable (it doesn't look like it's changed since 1977 and flaunts parts of its history with photos on the walls) and has a great neighborhood/family vibe. I love that there are some non-traditional plays on egg favorites and can highly recommend the BBQ chicken omelette (because really, who doesn't need some with their eggs) and the Sexy omelette (it's got chicken, mushrooms and oodles of cheese).

We arrived just before 2:30, when they close.  You have to be in the door by 2:30 and we promptly received service.  I had to get an omelette, obviously.  For $11, it was more food than I could ask for.

On another note, Arnold the ex-Governator used to eat here after working out.  Yes.

I have been going here for fifteen years and I never grow tired of it. They have a great back patio for a leisurely breakfast with friends and a nice counter in the space next door for when you are dining alone. You can go as evil as you want with eggs benedict or waffles or as healthy as you want with egg whites and turkey sausage.  I particularly like The Merlin and the BBQ chicken omlettes.  The home fries are always my favorite part of the plate as well as the apple butter. Portions are huge so if you are not a big eater, share with a friend. I always leave here jacked up on caffeine as they are so great about keeping your coffee cup filled. This is also one of the few places I will order orange juice as it is top notch. If you are going on a weekend go early as the line can get quite large once the westsiders wake up at 10 am, pull on their skinny jeans and slip on their Converse.

Their wheat nut English muffins and potatoes leave the greatest impression in my heart.

Loved the Merlin with spinach, mushrooms, and Swiss. I swapped for egg whites only and it was still rich and filling.  They don't skimp on the stuffing!

Didn't like the BBQ chicken but I was warned to stay away from their chicken omelettes as they can be dry.

Patio seating, diner style, and breakfast bar seating as well! Only a block away from the Sunday farmer's market, and 2 blocks from the beach.  A lazy weekend paradise.

I am always excited to go to places that have a healthy options. The Omelette Parlor is one of those. Went here today for breakfast with a friend. I had the Gold's Gym Life style Plate which consisted of 4 egg whites, 4 slices of french toast and chicken breast. I sub the chicken for turkey sausage and you can also sub french toast for oatmeal. I just felt like being a little naughty today and  enjoy a little french toast and turkey sausage. :)

Everything came out perfect and in excellent timely manner. Egg whites where tasty, fluffy, dry (not smothered in butter/oil). No butter! YES! **happy me**! I didn't even have to ask. French toast was probably dipped in egg beaters but I didn't ask. They where not greasy, big, nice and fluffy with powdered sugared very lightly sprinkled on. Perfect balance. Turkey sausage was tasty and not greasy. Also I want to add their portions are big so if you have a big so if you have a big appetite you will be happy, if not be prepared to take some food home.

Overall, food was yummy and I will be back soon with the family. I am dying for my husband to try the waffles since he loves them.

For a place called the 'omelette parlor', this better be the best omelette I've ever had in my LIFE. FALSE ADVERTISING OMELETTE PARLOR!!

It was a fine omelette, as omelettes go. But I like my omelettes fluffy, and with the ingredients nice and integrated. Not a flat omelette with tomatoes, spinach, and feta sprinkled over the top? They didn't even put them IN the omelette?? The saving grace was that precious apple butter. And the orange juice, which was impossibly fresh.

The seating is cute though, and there are amazing pictures on the walls of LA in the early 20th century - definitely makes the place feel legendary. (unfortunately, the omelettes were not.)

There are other santa monica spots that will provide you with the bomb sunday brunch you've been looking for. (aka huckleberry. santa monica farmers market.)

What I like about this place..

Great outdoor patio-Good for lazy Sunday brunch :)

Good breakfast spot, something for everyone. Lots to choose from...

    What I ate...

Huevos Rancheros-this was tasty! 2 eggs over easy sitting on top of corn tortillas on a bed of black beans with fresh pico de gallo. Ooh when the yolk oozed out and mixed together with everything it made for a delish sauce!

Breakfast burrito-This was a GOOD sized burrito and was quite enjoyable

I've had omelets here before and they were pretty good but I think that I'm more of a scramble girl so be specific to make sure you get what you want...

HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY: their potatoes were sooo yummy and had a nice crust to them. This time they made it extra special

Like other people mentioned, coffee was eh...but overall I was a very happy camper!

    See ya soon!

Hit or Miss. Today was a miss so 3 stars for average food and prompt service.

Food: We ordered the Surfers Omellete, Monrisa/Reynaldo Morales Omelette, California Benedict, and real coffee. BTW, the menu on the site isn't updated.
Downside: The eggs on the California Benedict were overcooked and the real coffee was watered down. I would give the California Benedicts another try though.
Upside: Huge portions and good potatoes. Did I mention the location is great! You can definitely walk off your brunch and visit a variety of boutiques.
Tip: The decor is old school cute. I would suggest to sit outside because it is slightly stuffy and warm inside. There may be a wait but its worth getting a whiff of fresh air.

I like the atmosphere in this breakfast spot,  it brought up my rating.

However, I didn't really care for the food much. I ordered the two, two, two. Two eggs, two french toast, and since I's eating vegetarian I opted for the potatoes to replace the bacon.  The potatoes were good, but the eggs were average and the french toast was overcooked. The coffee was okay.

It was not unique, it looked like something that I could have made at home and tasted like it as well.

Aye.. can you say expensive?!  I kind of expect to pay a lot of money for food in this area, but I got an omelette, some juice and some toast for $15 plus tip!

The omelette was good.. I'll give it that.  I got the Greek Omelette PACKED with black olives, feta cheese and tomatoes.  Maybe too many tomatoes... but still it was a good and I enjoyed it as a good breakfast.  The service was on par, and I really liked the back patio.  If you're looking to splurge on breakfast, I think this place is a good fit

i love love love eggs! so naturally, i love omelettes. My friend and I came here on a fluke after attempting to go to world cafe which is closed indefinitely. So I had the omelette with the italian sausage in it. It came with a toasted bun with jam and potatoes. My friend is vegetarian and had a waffle with banana nut topping. She seemed to really enjoy the waffle.

My omelette was pretty good, but a bit on the bland side. I used a lot of ketchup and tobasco sauce. Their fresh squeezed OJ was better than the omelette.

Service was excellent. We got seated outdoors within 5 min and our food came out pretty fast. The outdoor area was nice..they had a tarp up so it didn't get super hot.

Big ups for the lighting-fast drink service. We were seated for no more than 30 seconds when someone came by with coffee and OJ. Why doesn't every diner do this? Also, ketchup and Tabasco on the table so neither you nor I have to ask for it. Service overall is friendly and quick.

Charming, old-school interior space from the 20s or thereabouts which means the booths are a shade on the cozy side, but the ambiance is nice and airy. Dig the vintage panoramic photos of the nearby beaches of yesteryear.

I don't know why you'd go to a place called Omelette Parlor and order anything else. Crazy Jack, a fluffy three-egg affair with bacon, avocado, and alfalfa sprouts and--you guessed it, Jack cheese--is a crazy amount of food. It's enough to share, or maybe skip dinner the night before. Comes with delicious O.P. homefries: thinly sliced, brown and crispy, and homemade apple butter to go on your whole wheat English muffin.

If I lived in Santa Monica, I'd go every weekend.

We ate here twice and thought it was great. The food was good with large portions and maybe pricey but isn't everything in California? I enjoyed the tall ceiling and interesting decor even if its not my cup of tea, I mean it beats the usual "chain store plastic decor" by a mile. Really I would stop there again anytime, and the only thing that left me kind of scratching my head was the seating in the place. Technically in a restaurant you figure they would want comfy seating. Here in the the center are wood benches that are uncomfortable (rigid) with little room, and the only other choice were these chairs that I also found okay but un-relaxing. I did not see what they had outside in the back. Those were the only two choices I noticed.  If I sound like I straining over gnats, keep this in mind. In all the restaurants I eaten in I can't ever remember thinking about the seats.

I'm not usually one of those people who go back to a restaurant time and time again...but somehow Omelette Parlor has got me hooked! Oh no!

My main reasons I keep coming back:

    Super cute decor
Old country style with the cutest wooden booths inside and then a nice patio outside. The middle row is the funnest part of the place to sit. They have these elevated green decorative wooden booths made for 4 with lights strung up overhead. The patio is pretty big and you can literally sit wherever you want. I would choose a spot under an umbrella though...there is powerlines running across the back of the patio which attracts lotsa pigeons, who have no problem with dropping a gift onto unsuspecting diners.

I love brunch food! Anytime of the day!
They have a wide selection of brunch and lunch stuff. Pancakes, omelettes, burgers, sammies, etc etc. They have a burger lunch special for 7 dollars during lunch which is always a nice fresh option. Of course most times I get something in the breakfast area. They have a different special pancake each day, which are hugee and chock full of whatever ingredients it is that day! The omelettes are huggeeee and so fluffy and tasty. I never ever get omelettes because I feel like most places don't make them any differently from what I can do at home. The breakfast quesadilla they have only on Fridays is gigantic and easily stuffs two people! Their food isn't the best ever ever, but its pretty good and done well.

    Good friendly service
I usually end up getting the same waitress who shows up smiling and carrying a pot of coffee in one hand and orange juice in the other. The people who work here are very nice and always smiling.

    Frequent customer card
I love a place with one of these! Haha it makes me wanna keep coming back! I'm just such a sucker for these!

I just like coming here about once a week or every other. The decor is so cute and the food is done well. It's home style cooking that they've kept appealing to everyone but is also a step above what you could whip up in your own kitchen. Or at least not without a fully loaded refridgerator and lots of time in the morning.

I've been here several times, and usually sit inside (which can be a bit cramped). On this visit, we were seated in the outdoor patio in back. The heat lamps were in full force, turning a gloomy Saturday morning into a blistering sauna, so be prepared if your internal core tends to run on the hot side.

I ordered the eggs benedict, and it was merely average. I've had better luck on other occasions with the oatmeal, but I always had a hard time justifying paying Broadway prices for rolled oats.

Parking in this area is horrendous, so unless you're lucky enough to snag a metered spot, your best bet might be to try one of the neighborhood side streets.

    -Great customer service
    -DELICIOUS apple butter
-YUM YUM YUMMY pancakes. You have to go during the week because each day they have a special pancake. I love the peanut butter chip ones :)
    -AMAZING omelettes!

I love the super cute atmosphere of the diner, it feels like you're back in the 1950s in Santa Monica. They have really cute decor and pictures that make you feel like you're a part of the Ocean Park family.

They have a really big patio in the back that is perfect on a nice spring morning and a good place is you have a larger party. Great place for a Sunday brunch!

The waffle (note singular use of the word) was tasty.  just the right amount of chewy and crispy.  A ton of strawberries and whip cream.  The only drawback was that for $9, you only get one waffle.
The Huevos Rancheros was also good.  Ingredients tasted fresh.
The french toast was a little heavy, should be a little lighter.
The omelette our table ordered was average at best.

    The service was ok.

    I am Hanz...and I am Franz...together we're here to PUMP YOU UP!

What can I say...I am a sucker for the Golds Gym at Omelette Parlor!

Came here with my friends Thomas and Rico this morning because Thomas was craving Omelette Parlor. It was Rico's first time dining here. Yes, I ordered the Golds Gym with The Works Oatmeal (raisins, bananas, strawberries, and walnuts). Was bummed because they didn't have strawberries today, so I asked for blueberries instead. Thomas ordered The Works Oatmeal. Rico ordered The Hungry Surfer Omelette. For a treat, I ordered a Cinnamon Roll.

We all enjoyed our food. Rico was quite fond of his omelette and he fell in love with the apple butter...yet another person hooked on OP! Thomas couldn't fully enjoy his oatmeal because he's doing the Daniel Fast, so his oatmeal had to be enjoyed sans sugar and milk. I positively relished my breakfast.

The cinnamon roll was truly to die for! I mean, the frosting was perfectly drizzled with generous pieces of caramelized walnuts. The outer ring of the roll was slightly tough, but after that, man it was oh soooo moist and cinnamony! It wasn't gooey like a Cinnabon, but I think I actually prefer it served the way OP does now.

A helpful tip: When you order Oatmeal with The Works, you will get really, really full and hardly have any room for anything else. If you choose to take the oatmeal home, ask for another bowl and put some of the oatmeal in it. I say this because when you have leftover oatmeal with all the fixing, it tends to turn into sludge!

I've been to Omelette Parlor many times and I'm left with these takeaway points:

    1) good service
    2) large, good (but not mind-blowing) omelettes
    3) usually crowded, but they are efficient and the wait is not long
    4) semi-expensive for what you get

I'll continue to patronize them as one of my stable of convenient brunch places.  I'd say they are not worth a special trip from far away but if you're in the area and jonesin' for some egg dishes, check them out.  Oh, and the apple butter they include with the bread item is a nice touch - yum!

Last feeling I got from the place: the owner/manager/cashier guy was pretty uncharismatic and expressionless... I'd recommend his allowing another staff member take over that since that's when we write down our tip.

Decor/Ambiance: 4/5- This place looked really cozy/cute and made a great first impression on my girlfriends and me. I do like all the wood used and the decor seems very farm-like and uniquely designed (different levels). There were a lot of waiters and busboys, so it also made the space feel very lively. We loved it at first sight!

Service: 3.5-4/5- The elderly lady who took down our name at the door was very amiable. She welcomed everyone who came in with genuine care and was very accurate with our wait-time. She gets the 4/5. Our waitress was decent and all of our needs were met. We were checked on regularly and our food arrived in a good amount of time. She was competent, but not stellar... can't complain though! 3.5 is fair to me.

Food: 2-5/5: If you're going to call yourself an omelette parlor... your omelettes better be really delicious. I would even expect organic eggs in LA/Santa Monica by now. The 2/5 was for the omelette I ordered, the New - Z.J. Boarding House. The 4/5 was for the sliced potatoes that came on the same plate as a side. Those were my favorite of the meal. The toasted & buttered english muffin would actually be a 5/5, just because it was the best english muffin I've had in life so far. I was never a big fan of them before, but they really got it right here.

But honestly, I was so disappointed. There was no flavor and the inside of my omelette was very watery. It was so watery I almost asked for a spoon because I couldn't pick things up w/ my fork. Kinda ridiculous. I also had to add salt on everything because there was no flavor.

Also, I had asked for hot water because of my doctor's orders, but who knew my doctor's recommendation would cost me $0.75 at the omelette parlor? Their entire establishment is packed with people... and they charge for hot water, but not cold water. That is clear sign of stinginess/arrogance to me and immediately turns me off. I understand your business model, but I will never be back again, nor will I ever recommend your establishment. Fair?

Ok, I'm being a bit harsh, but I don't like it when a restaurant puts on a front that they're respectable and then try to shimmy every quarter I own out of me. It's just unpleasant.

Overall: Pretty disappointing. I can't believe I spent $15 here on a tasteless omelette.

Yum! I had the Spinach Swiss Mushroom omelette with Egg whites. It was delicious and easy on the salt, I guess that's healthy.

minus one star because out waitress was pretty slow and forgot to bring us coffee, which was a mini obstacle to clear up when paying the bill.

It's a cute enough place and I love omelette's. We'll probably be back and I will try the Huevos Ranchers. Great fresh OJ.
