Over the last six months, I've been four times and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Hints of Asian influence on the menu, and have tried and loved:
--the shrimp cocktail with sweet chili sauce, large plump shrimp, great sauce
--summer chopped salad
--wedge salad with blue cheese
--spring rolls
--lobster/asparagus pizza, thin crust loaded with lobster
--new age bento box, an amazing combo platter
--BBQ shrimp
--grilled filet
--lemongrass roasted lobster maybe the best lobster I've ever had, which is fortunate as it's one of, if not THE most expensive thing on the menu. $50 for a 2 pounder, served split open, with four different dipping sauces. Unique and fantastic.
--pad thai noodle bowl
--Parmesan truffle fries, decadent, but worth a unhealthy splurge

I wish they kept the menu from the summer which I liked much better.

The only misstep was the duck taco app which was dry and served luke warm.

Service is always attentive, the ocean views of Nantucket Sound are amazing...(The only way to insure a table overlooking the water is to reserve the first seating . And the one time I did that, the view was all fogged in! Oh well. The next time I went, later, but lucked out with a water view table anyway, perfect, especially the sunset)

It's definitely expensive, but unlike many of the Cape's pricey tourist traps, the food is great here.

A fabulous restaurant that I am still thinking about two weeks AFTER we visited!

Hands down one of the best meals that I've had on the Cape.   Everything was unique -  fabulous sauces and flavors accompanied each dish.

We started out with the duck tacos and clam chowder for appetizers.  Wow, on both.  Who knew duck tacos could be so scrumptious?  The portions were generous enough that I would have easily been happy with these for my main meal.   Lobster chowder was on special and it was awesome!  A very thick chowder that was overloaded with clams, potatoes, etc.  Absolutely no skimping on seafood here!

For the mains we ordered a haddock with lobster sauce (on special) & the scallop dish.  Both were cooked to perfection with superb sauces.  The scallop dish had a unique potato cream kind of sweet sauce. It was interesting (in a very good way) and went incredibly well with the scallops.  We would have loved to try dessert but where honestly too stuffed!!

A fabulous meal I'd recommend hands-down.  Pricey, but worth every penny. We will definitely be back!!!

P.S. Our waitress recommended the chicken. Although we didn't try it the quality that we experienced at this restaurant makes me think it could be one of those rare places where you'd get perfectly cooked to die for chicken (a true test of a fabulous kitchen).

We ate there last night. Service was excellent and the food is incredible. I had tuna tar tar in coconut & lime juice for an app and lemongrass lobster. It came with four sauces to dip: butter, lemongrass butter, chile sauce, and kimchee(?).  It was served with some perfectly prepared saffron rice. I loved it.

Others had seared scallops over miso mashed with lobster tempura; a crazy bento box with east and south asian spices.

Even the kids food was good, real wood fired pizza.  And instead of a sea captain coloring page, each child got a mini story/coloring book to keep them well occupied during apps and drinks.

Desserts are great, not to be missed. We tried the chocolate sundae bags, which were little shopping bags made of chocolate, filled with ice cream and cookies; also a molten chocolate cake that was way beyond the tired typical such thing every restaurant has these days; and a raspberry sorbet that must have been made there.

This place does a great job combining fresh cape cod seafood with asian spices and flavors.

The wine list is surprisingly mediocre given the high level of the cuisine, and probably the only reason I'd hold back one star. But I'm a hopeless wine snob, so it might be just me.

I'm not as happy with this place as I once was.  We have been there several times this year and our visit in mid-September finally made me update my prior review.

We got there about 10 minutes early for our 8 pm reservation, with relatively light traffic.  But we weren't seated until 8:20, with many people being seated from the bar ahead of us.  Hmmph.

And the service was terrible, capping the summer trend.  It took a while for us to be recognized by the wait staff (an apt description).   She removed our drink glasses without asking whether we wanted a refill, didn't recite specials, and gave the impression that she didn't want to be there - and didn't want us to be there either.

After a few meals, the Asian fusion is starting to wear thin too.  While things sound fine on the menu, after experience, I found that there weren't that many choices I was excited about reordering.  Not a good sign.

So, now this restaurant will be saved for those days in February when the choices are fewer.

lovely setting.   Service was OK but not great.  Wedge salad had very little dressing (I guess some like it that way, but I'm used to more).  Scallops with "tempura fried lobster legs" was not great: scallops were no where nearly as tasty as I'm used to.  I guess they were regular scallops and not diver scallops that fine restaurants use. Fried lobster legs were overcooked and inedible. Grilled chicken was a 6/10, just OK but not worth going out of the way for.  The desserts were very good.  We sat on the porch on a beautiful evening, watched the full moon come up, but the A/C dripped on us the whole meal and they comp'ed us the desserts.  Would go back but would not go out of the way to get  there.

You may think that you could never find an actual chef in Cape Cod. Sure, there are lots of OK restaurants with decent menus, but actual chef driven   menus with the Real McCoy chef? It's here at the Ocean House. You will find the same quality food as you will find at the finest restaurants in New York or Boston (seriously). I had scallops that were absolutely cooked perfectly. Everyone in the party of seven felt that their meal was the best they have ever had.  And the view? None better in all of the North East. And the service? If you are lucky enough to get Christian, you will have the time of your life. The valets hustle to fetch your car, the hostesses are friendly, everyone you come in contact with wants you to enjoy your evening.  This is the quintessential Cape Cod Restaurant.

Ocean House is a welcome relief from the typical, old and bland eateries in Dennis. For Foodies looking for new and different seafood fusion go here! We loved the duck tacos!

So I made my annual MDW pilgrimage to this wonderful place and was COMPLETELY blown away.  Going into as little detail as possible (I don't want to write too much for fear that I might drive the 4 hours to the Cape tonight just fulfill my Ocean House cravings) the food is better than ever.  Seriously, everything was amazing.  I was with a party of 7 and not one person had a complaint about their meal; everything was seasoned and cooked to beyond perfection.  This place has an amazing atmosphere, great service, beautiful views, drop-dead delicious food and properly made drinks.  I really don't know what anyone else could possibly ask for in a restaurant.  If you have never even been to the Cape before, I say you go just so you can have the pleasure of dining here.  It doesn't get much better than the Ocean House.  Really, I am hungry already.

So good!!!!!!

Where to begin.
Well, i just had dinner there this past Sat and we didn't make a reservation for 2 because I figured that it was the fall season and it wouldn't be crowded. I was wrong. The dining room was packed, but we were still able to get a seat in the lounge area.  I am so glad we did because the lounge area so much nicer and cozier. The dining room were filled with people over 50, so, the lounge was much more our style.

The hostess was really  gracious in finding us a table, I think she was also the manager.
Anyway, we were seated and our nice server took our drink orders. We were waiting on our drinks, not for long, and our hostess walked by and thought we had not been helped yet. That earned them points for being attentive.

We ordered the sashimi for an appetizer because the server suggested so. Very fresh and light and very tasty. Before our appetizer came out, the server brought us some warm and fresh bread with i believe some sort of hummus to spread on.

For our meal, the server suggested the pork loin. The people dining next to us had the pork loin and raved about it.  I have to say...there were not lying.
The pork loin was so juicy and moist and the outer layer was sweet. The sweet mashed potatoes were perfect and went really well with the pork.

For desert, i had my eye on the creme brulee, but our server suggest we get the pumpkin tiramisu because it was in season. The thought of that sounded kind of strange because i figured that it would taste like a pumpkin pie.
I was wrong because it was absolutely delicious. The tirimisu was delicate and moist, not too sweet. The pumpkin did not overwhelm the espresso flavor of the lady finger layers.
We had a really great time because the food was so good. The server really made our night because he was very nice and had great suggestions.
We will definitely be going back.

We always end our annual summer vacation to the Cape with a meal at Ocean House on our last night.

The restaurant itself is stunning; guests are seated right at the water's edge, which looks particularly beautiful as the dining room is dimly-lit and gorgeous.

The food is amazing, no matter what you order. I always get the chicken pasta, but I can't resist stealing bites of the seafood others order (chilean sea bass was wonderful this year).

I was born without a sweet tooth (give me salty any day), but I ordered dessert this year -- white chocolate banana cream pie -- oh. my. god. I have no idea why I ordered this, as I don't like bananas (I think it was the cocktails talking), but this was seriously the highlight of the meal. An individual mini banana cream pie, with rich, delicious banana purree and thick whipped cream filling, topped with chunky slices of white chocolate. The best dessert I've had in a long time. My only regret was eating so much of my meal and not even coming close to finishing it; I wanted to eat the whole thing!

I can't wait to go back again next year.

Combine outstanding Asian fusion with one of the best ocean views anywhere.  Then add in excellent, non-pushy, very attentive service, and you have this rare gem of a restaurant.   Although the entrees are pricey, you can easily get by on the outstanding small plates.  For a real experience, try the Bento Box.

the food was delicious (we had the lobster, butterfish and mixed berry shortcake), the setting was beautiful, and after days of searching, we really didn't come across anything better (as far as nice dinners go) on the cape. definitely on the same level as many of the restaurants we have been to in LA and NY!

I recently dined here while vacationing on the Cape. The views of the ocean can be seen from all tables and the bar. The menu is very diverse, the scallops and shrimp linguini were superb. Make sure you make a reservation, this place gets very busy. Only open Wed-Sunday.

Get there early for the beachside view of Nantucket Sound. You'll also love the food. The only drawback is the loud volume in the dining room

Now I have to disagree about the quality of the food (this place gets good reviews on other sites too).  We ordered the lobster ravioli, and it was terrible.  The ravioli (cheese inside, not lobster) was underdone to the point that the edges tasted raw and were hard, and the lobster (which is spread on the top) was overcooked and rubbery and not very tasty, and the sauce was tasty, but very very heavy (the dish cried out for a lighter sauce.)

Our appetizers were good, but not spectacular, and the menu was confusing - trying too hard...  However the location is lovely, and our waiter was wonderful.

As my husband and I were out with another couple who had recommended the restaurant, we didn't fuss about the food - but our plates went back with the ravioli almost uneaten.  We hope that the chef gets the message.  When you pay over $30 per entree (for the large ravioli dish), one does not expect to have to inform the chef that it was inedible as it left the kitchen!  We will not return.
