Good place in downtown Dallas. They played great music and the people there showed great southern hospitality. The line wasn't bad and got in quick.

Party In My Pants
This downtown lounge is great for schmoozing with clients, listening to DJ Jonny 5 from the 12inch Pimps on the ones and twos and flirting with your next ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.
Yes, I said it.
The bartenders are so very nice to look at that they can often make you forget what you came to the bar for in the first place. Let me remind you ... drinks!!
The martinis are the best here and include flavors like the Peartini, Lychee and Elderflower. (Tastes like Lychee) If you really want something special, ask Ryan, one of the aforementioned bartenders for a Sex in the Loo. Sorry to disappoint, but Ryan is not going to throw you over his shoulder and carry you through the packed house to the nearest stall to oblige. He will however, make you one of the best cocktails offered in downtown.
So if you're looking for a nice looking crowd, with an even nicer looking drink menu, bring yo girls and tha fellas downtown.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because the first time I went I had a great time with fun music and tasty drinks. The second time I went the drinks were unbalanced, tasting only of pure alcohol, which I don't put up with after 10 years in the business. The decor is nice and my favorite part, no smoking in the club, you have to go out to the patio if you want to smoke.

Yuck. I'm pretty sure there was nothing about this place I liked. My drink was gross and overpriced. The people were snotty. The music was eh at best - I wasn't dancing lets put it that way. I had to pay for cover and valet to have a gross drink with a bunch of "I'm too freaking cool" 20-somethings.
I'll pass. Thanks.

Outrageous Bar! Thats the name for this place.
I seriously was charged $16 for Hennessey Sidecar, LOL. Yeah I actually paid for that shit. I got my ends, I aint no broke ass but I had to laugh as I was drinking the sidecar and thinking to myself.. what the fuck...
I asked how much the shot of Louis's was, I think he said close to 200 a shot. LOL Yo, In vegas I paid 150 for that shit.. why is Dallas up on some markups?
Answer: "ULTRA LOUNGE"
WTF, ok so its a typical Ikea looking bar which is under a building, like several bars in other major cities, and I guess that calls for "Ultra" status.. LOL oh damn..
Oh wells, I travel the world alot and every now and then I run into a bar which over charges.
Solution: I simply do not return or stay away from the $16 Sidecar. LOL
3 stars because its got ULTRA written all over it.. oh and it looks like every other swanky bar from California to New York.
Not a bad place by any means.

I only give it 2 stars because I almost had a decent time down there once or twice. NEVER wait in line at this place, it's only an artificial line designed to make the club look more popular than it is. The music ranges from OK to crap, they used to have good techno but that has since been subverted by the ghetto influences. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone actually smile or look like they were having a good time in the place either. If they were, it was only a im-drunk-and-like-everything smile.

Good if all you are looking for is overly poured drinks to the point where all you taste is the alcohol and not whatever it was mixed with. Good if all you are looking for is to get smashed and dance with Transvestites who either forgot their Spanx or their birth control pills.
Bartenders really need to learn the art of bartending... pouring drinks that don't taste like alcohol but will smash you on your rear after two. And they would sell more too if the patron didn't realize they were getting FUBAR'd

I'll admit, I've had a few good times at O bar. With that being said, I feel compelled to say that I've also had a few good times watching people trip and fall down. The point is, both can be fun but neither is something I'd like to engage in on a regular basis.
The drinks are your standard outrageous prices, and on more than one occasion I've caught a bartender attempting to prey on my perceived drunkenness by charging me for drinks I definitely didn't order (I mean come on sweetheart, you're cute and all, but it's still pretty early and I only ordered 2 beers. Do you really expect me to believe I got 4?) However, they do have a stellar selection of every conceivable liquor, there's no smoking whatsoever inside, because of its basement location and perhaps an industrial HVAC unit it's never hot, and for an ultra lounge that insisted on using white as the dominant color, it pulls it off pretty well.
As is echoed in the other reviews don't wait in line and don't be afraid to jump ship in favor of the other Main St. bars if you're not having a great time.

I went here a few times after my friend moved into a condo across the street. I loved it. Underground with this funky chairs and awesome atmosphere. Had a some great electronica music going. Loved the dim lighting, candles. It felt like the lounge I normally like.
Fast forward a couple months and I went down here with another friend of mine. Completely different experience. Extremely packed with pretty people. They had a DJ there blasting remixes. I sat down on a long bench seat they have along one wall and it was like sitting on a subwoofer. The entire place shook. The blood cells on the bar (if that's what they area) seemed like they were actually pulsing. I didn't drive so I couldn't escape easily. At least the people watching at the bar was great. It's great fun seeing guys get shot down over and over by a particular pair of girls or wasting money buying drinks one after another and there was plenty of it going on. Just sat back and enjoyed the show since I had to be there.
What happened to the place I loved? Guess we had always hit it on off nights, or it just wasn't popular yet.

I went here last Saturday with some friends and actually had a really good time (I'm not much of a bar/night scene person). I had actually been once before in Oct, and I had more of a similiar feeling to the reviews here. I guess now that it's been around for a while, it's toned down and more "normal people" go, no waiting in line or anything.
I was not dressed nice at all..I was in my typical Hawaii gear, jeans, halter with a shirt over it, and flip flops..no problem! I was worried that I'd feel out of place, but there were others who also weren't all done up.
The music is freakin awesome..thank you 12 inch pimps. People don't dance there..until it gets late and you know girls always wanna shake it..haha. The crowd is pretty mixed..and I bumped into quite a few UTD people....weird!
Trendy wanna-be NYC bar in downtown Dallas. Cool setup, not worth waiting in line EVER. Good for bachelorette parties or getting all of your drinks paid for by greasy men at the bar. There are lots of men lurking who use lots of product and wear their shirts a couple sizes too small. However, the decor is super cool and if I were single, maybe it would be more fun.

Been only a few times but the place is very cool and no smoking!
Ok, so this is one of the few snooty places that I actually like in Dallas. It's just plain cool. Underground, and super slick. Drinks are astronomical, but the atmosphere is almost worth it. Beautiful modern decor and some of the most beautiful people in Dallas can be found here. This was THE place pre Ghostbar, but there is still a good following. Some of my favorite things about the bar is 1) they play runway shows on the plasmas 2) extensive use of candles 3) you can actually sit down without having to do bottle service and 4) if you look at the bar on the right......the image under the bar is of magnified Red Blood Cells.....so cool! As for the crowd, it's hit or miss. For me, it's a cool place to go for 1 drink if I'm downtown, not a place I'd stay all night.

Hip, dark, semi-swank bar in Downtown. I'm about 5 years removed from my Bar / Party days so I don't enjoy going out if it takes an effort. O Bar is crowded enough to have energy and a plenty of beautiful people to look at, but you don't have to dodge elbows, lit cigarettes, or wandering hands. Very cool decor and also has an outside patio that is covered during the winter.
This place is pretty cool for Downtown. Plus, if you don't like the feel you can head out and go across the street to Fuse. I don't know how it is now, but I used to go whenever Willy Trimmer and his pals would play.
I'm sure a lot of you know about them, but if not... check out 12inchpimps. Great music! Mylo!!! :)
Went to Obar for my birthday in January, and had a BLAST!! Went back for a friend's bday and although I wasn't in the party mood that night, the DJ at Obar that saturday was rockin'!! I ended up so wasted and it was soo worth it. Great music, great atmosphere, great drinks, great waitress. Totally recommend this place for groups, or just an early drink before you hit up a night club.
I had one really bad experience with a bar tender once at Obar, but I haven't seen him there since. I think you're in the clear. If you see the big guy with the pony tail who's really clumsy at the bar, go to another bar tender.
If you haven't been, then you must!
Martini and manicure for $20 (5-9pm) on Thursday nights. Recommend Obar for girls night out.
