So I walked into this bar with two friends on a Saturday night at 10:30 only to find that there was a barefoot woman with a small child on the dance floor. wow.
After this woman and her group left (after a near bar fight with another patron) my party and I enjoyed the fried mushroom appetizer (it was pretty standard and could be replicated anywhere else). The rest of the menu looked pretty good but we only stuck with the one item.
Sadly, I was the only person drinking because one chose not to and the other was pregnant. However, this worked to my advantage because when a free round of shots arrived I was the only person able/willing to consume them.
To top the evening off I went against my better judgment and ordered a drink called "The Big O". It was large, fruity and God only knows how many calories were in it. It was good, but a once-a-year booze treat.
Would I return? Yes, if with a group of people. The atmosphere is great for a group outing, but would not be my first choice for a girls night.
My company likes to take groups to this place as it is close to work and on Joe Pool lake. The food to me is sub par. I have ate there several times and tried many different items. The menu is diverse but the food is always bland and generic. The atmoshphere is nice though and if your going for a few beers or drinks after work and not food it can be fun.
The Oasis restaurant is located on Joe pool lake. They have cover bands play weekly (I believe Saturday night) outside on the patio seating area. The food and decor are like any other fish restaurant and prices are fairly reasonable. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but if you want to spend a day near the lake, this is a good place to rest watching koy pond and ducks all around the outside of the restaurant.
