Awesome. This place needs to be experience! Im not sure what the others are talking about...i had a great experience with punctuality. I had been looking for a new spa ever since I broke up with my last spa in san leandro...I was not dissapointed with OASIS.

Please go in for a visit!!!! You will not be dissapointed. They greet you and make you feel at comfortable as soon as you arrive. It is really an Oasis, a beautiful and Great atmosphere. Very professional, very relaxing, love the pedals in the water...

The staff is a great group of people (unlike a lot of nailshops/spas Ive been to) They are very concerned with customer care and service.

I love the fact that its so accessible as well! Emeryville is such a convenient location!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

I think I found the place that I will have my bridal luncheon! They are awesome....anf the party package comes with a fully catered meal! YES WOW! Its awesome...and very affordable.
I would reccommend this place to everyone!!!

The bridal party and bride to be went here the day before my friend's wedding to get our nails done.  The bride searched long and hard for a pamper spa to accommodate the bridal party.  She wanted to make sure that we went somewhere that served Champagne and would truley PAMPER us....

First and foremost, there were supposed to be 4 technicians to do all of our manipedis at the same time.  We scheduled the appointment for 11:30am on a Friday and needed to be back in San Francisco by 2pm to get ready for the wedding rehersal.  When our limo arrived to the spa, there were 3 technicians.  This means we were late leaving the spa, late checking into our hotel, and 30 minutes late to the rehersal.  Sweet.

We were each only served one complimentary mimosa.  I think that if I'm going to pay nearly $70 for a manipedi, my champagne glass should remain full.  But maybe that's just me.

I think I had one of the most incompetent nail technicians ever.  The language barrier may have been one of the issues, but I doubt she was actually certified with the instructions I had to give her.  I explained several times to her that my nails are weak and to please not use a rough emery board to file them down.  It makes them peel.  After debating back and forth for about 5 minutes, she finally said that they didn't have any other kinds of emery boards, and I was stuck with the rough one.  Needless to say, a week later, my nails are just peeling away.

$70
One glass of champagne
3 out of 4 technicians
They made us late
The polish didn't last on my nails long enough to make it to the ceremony the next day
And my nails are peeling??

Why 2 stars instead of one, you might ask....  Because it was clean and comfortable.  And the technicians were nice (I suppose), just not very helpful.  There was some good music playing.  The cleanliness and appearance of the spa = 1.5 stars, Yelp does not offer 1/2 stars.

I will not go back.  And I do not recommend.

My eyebrows look effin' awesome today, thank you very much!

Sometimes the mani/pedi's can take a while, but I'm ok with that, or go somewhere else when I'm in a hurry.

I attended a Pamper Party @ this place. It was clean, nice decor E.T.C...But the staff was unorganized and their punctuality is awful. The event was nice because of the guest of honor, the technicians and clerk were very nice but the owner came at the end of the party...She was supposed to be there during the party to do eyebrows for us????? We signed up a head of time for her services, she had plenty of notice. She waltzed in nonchalantly like "okay I'm here who wants eyebrows" LOL. I don't think I'm going back ;)

Such a cute place. Every time I pass it I remind myself to go. Finally made it and was not disappointed. Great staff. Atmosphere is cute in a swanky, island vibe kind of way. Mani/pedi combo was 45, not a bad price.

I went here on my Birthday after reading the reviews on YELP.
My eyebrows were good.
My Man& Pedicure was all day.... 4 hours in this place. I just wanted to relax not spend my entire day. Next time I will only get the Pedicure and skip the rest. The environment is nice but  I had other plans for my day.

Two words:

Perfect Eyebrows

One less star because I have not experienced the other services to date, but I am tempted.

A refreshing "pamper" venue from the usual chop-shops found in the area.

I love this place. The work is good and it lasts. The last time I went to a nicer, more pamper-oriented place to get my pedi, it lasted like a week. Flower petals in the foot bath are nice, but they're not worth paying extra for if the work is crap and there's not much more to the "special" pedi.

Oasis Pamper Bar does special like it's actually special. When you get the Grand mani/pedi you get a multi-part, luxurious service that leaves you feeling refreshed and looking fab.

The staff and proprietor are really nice, too, and going back you feel welcomed and looked after.

Do it because you're, you know, worth it.

YAY! i finally found the place where i am going to do my nails from now on!!! this place is so good!

i have had other experiences that were not so pleasant and i REALLY wanted to go somewhere where i would pay what i got and i found it at oasis.  i went in and it was nice inside.  i got a deluxe pedicure for my birthday (i think that's the name) i was attended by Crystal.  it was AMAZING! i got a nice massage on my feet, had my feet scrubbed like three times, and she really worked my tired heels all my dry skin is gone :).  after that i got an acrylic layover from iris.  i love iris, she is so outgoing and funny.  i really got to know the salon and the history. i felt so welcomed and attended very well.  i highly recommend this place, the prices are a little expensive, but you do get what you paid for!
yay oasis! (sorry im just so happy i finally found a great place!)

OK--I've come around to finally writing this review after coming to Oasis since February and going through 2 hairstylists.  I've now come to the point that I'm so disappointed and not with the quality of the work, but with the professionalism of the hair stylists I had.  The first one I had--she did a great weave, but overbooked her clients and there were 4-5 people waiting to get everything from a weave to a press to a wash/set.  I would set early morning appointments with the intention of being done by 12p--but I would end up playing musical chairs with other clients who "only had a wash" or "just called and got a wedding" or whatever other excuse.  I paid upwards $300 including generous tips, but the customer service was poor.  I don't understand how a hairstylist can be so good at doing hair, but so half-ass at disrespecting a client's time.  She left to set up her own shop--good luck!

I left too, but came back to Oasis hoping for a fresh start with a new stylist.  Since the front desk staff and nail salon were always so customer friendly and prompt, I held out hope yet again that the hair salon would be better.  The stylist I got....on our first appointment at 7a...showed up nearly an hour late!  She said she just moved into town from Atlanta, didn't know the freeways well, yada yada yada...Well, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, and didn't complain.  She did fast work, good braids, and an excellent relaxer and flatiron....when I mean fast, she was done within 3 1/2 hours!  EUREKA!  I finally found a great stylist, attentive to my questions, good work, and fast.

However, after the 2nd and 3rd times she would re-do my hair, it got worse with the timeliness.  I had a 6a flight out of SFO to catch the day before my hair appointment, which should have taken a couple of hours, but....  Let me back track a week earlier--my husband had a company event to go to, and as usual, I set an early morning appointment to come in.

Well, I showed up on time, and my stylist wasn't there.  So, I asked some of her co-workers if she was coming--they said her car was there, but they hadn't seen her.  One offered to call her but she only got voicemail, and I was given a number to TEXT HER.  I did so, and got these rambling messages back and forth asking me to come back at 1p!  I had hoped to be out of the shop by 12p to finish shopping for some things I needed for my husband's banquet.  I had a 8a appointment, my stylist isn't here, and she doesn't have the decency to call me, only texting me!

One of her co-workers offered to have me come to her "side shop" later that day--a place I had never been to, didn't know who was going to touch my hair, and didn't really feel comfortable with the location.  I turned her down, nicely, gathered my composure and left the shop.  I'm assuming the owner of Oasis reached the stylist because around 11a, I get ANOTHER TEXT from the stylist that she would DEFINITELY BE THERE at 2p...and miracles on miracles, she was.  BUT, she tells me she doesn't have time to do my hair the way I wanted it for the banquet, but could give me a chignon that would last a week, and could come back the afternoon before my trip....

fyi--I had to drive to Monterey to the banquet, but had to buy shoes, speed down there, and arrived 40 min before the event to quickly shower, dress, and go...my husband wanted to shake the sh@# out of that hairstylist!

Fast forward the next week, it's the afternoon before my 6am SFO flight, she is doing my hair, no problem....but as NIGHT began to come in, and it got later, she got slower, and the work got sloppier.  My appointment was at 5p, and it was now 10p--she has her mother and child there, and my hair hadn't been completely styled...rather than stay the entire night and not getting any sleep, I just let her flat iron my hair, no curls, and left the shop.  PISSED AGAIN!  This was the 3rd and final strike!

I was beyond incensed!  The owner apologized for what happened.  By this time, I had received more lazy apologies from the owner, not the stylist.  Now...I want to support black owned businesses and I guess this commitment caused me to hope upon hope, that the stylist would learn that her extreme disrespect of a customer's time and courtesy should have caused a light bulb to go off that the $300+ I was shelling out was not something to monkey around with...but I've come to the realization that most stylists, when or if they go through professional beauty schools/training to get licensed, do not learn how to respect the TIME and PATIENCE of a paying customer.  They are taught the techniques on what to do with a client's hair, but they are not taught how to give good customer service.  Treating customers with respect is not an OPTION its a REQUIREMENT!

I give only one star for the front desk/nail salon customer service, but with anything involving the hair salon, I will say PROCEED WITH CAUTION!  I'm done with being treated like a dumb b@tch!

Very clean and nice atmosphere and ambience.  This establishment is CLEAN and sanitary and I love that.  It is refreshing to see a brow bar where the hands are actually washed right before your very eyes before they touch you!  I love getting my eyebrows waxed here and, on occasion, eyelashes for a treat.  There's a special for March 2009 that if you get eyelashes for $20 brow wax is included.  GREAT! Needless to say I have beautiful eyelashes and nicely arched eyebrows.  Looks pretty good if I do say so myself.  Lynn, the owner, is awsome and does the brow bar services herself.  I took one star off because sometimes the owner is wearing so many other hats you may have to wait longer than you would like.  I still go here for all my waxing needs so that says a lot!

I've been going here for the past 5 months to get my hair and eyebrows done.  Lynn does my eyebrows and Glynis is an excellent stylist and primarily specializes in chemically relaxed female African American hair, but there are other stylists available for black men and black women who wear their natural hair.

I've  broken up with three hair stylists in San Francisco before giving into the reality that I would have to travel to the East Bay for my appointments, but I can honestly say that it's been worth it.  Oasis is brand new and tastefully decorated with posh amenities.  I'm always treated in a professional manner, everyone's generally friendly, plus I don't have to wait hours and hours before someone starts one of my services, like other places I've been to...

I would highly recommend this place and if it matters to you, Oasis is also a black-owned business.

I was SO glad to see a nice nail salon open in this upcoming area.  When I visited, there was complimentary teas, sodas, and snacks while you're getting one of the best nail treatments outside of a major day spa.  Great music surrounds you while the scents of candles relax you while you sit in the massaging chairs.  You almost forget where you are!   The staff is always attentive and they see clients on time!  Walk-ins are always welcome and usually can be seen immediately.

I got my toes done 2 months ago and they still look great - I'm going to refresh it soon, but thought I'd share!  If you mention my name (Hillari), you'll get 10% off too!

11/30: Went in to spend my $5 off coupon....got a Grand Pedicure by Iris and it looks GREAT!!! Iris is definitely the gal to see for a perfect pedi. They have redeemed themselves!

10/19/06: Update: Went in for a quick manicure. My nail tech was slow and argued with another nail tech TWICE while I was sitting there. She did a terrible job on my nails (nails were crooked and uneven--some longer than others), the white part of the French was uneven--some are straight and others are curved. I was in a hurry, so could not have her fix them (although I had to coach her the entire time). Makes me so mad when people do not take pride in their work. And to top it off, she did not even massage my hands!!!!!!

I spoke with the owner, who was very appologetic and offered to do my nails next time. That redeamed the place. I will go back, but if one more problem arrises, I will write this place off !

10/18/06: Loved the atmosphere and decor. They served complimentary wine!

Was disappointed in the management. My mani and pedi "bubbled up" while I was waiting for it to dry. They were about to close and they only offered to take $5 off my bill!

I'm not sure if this was just a one-time type of bad service or if they are just tight in general. I will give them another chance and update my review accordingly.

Called for an appointment for a fill and the receptionist was extremely accommodating.  I received a call from the manicurist personally to come in at 12:30 PM.  Wow!  What service I thought.  However, when I arrived, everything went downhill.
I came in 12:25 PM and checked in.  I sat and waited 10 minutes.  During that time I observed the decor and vibe of the place.  It looked very clean, but the dynamics of the staff was weird.  It's obvious they're cliques, so there was some passive aggressive behavior going on.  It wasn't that busy as I saw staff walk around and all the spa chairs weren't taken.  I then asked the receptionist about my appointment and my manicurist came over.  Apparently, Iris was with another client. As she reviewed my previous handiwork, she informed me I needed to replace my entire set and advised to soak them off and it would be "a minute."  No problem.  My impression was that she'd be back to check on me.  So as I sat down and waited, I turned my head to see where she went.  She just BEGAN services with another person.  I was a bit concerned and thought, she wouldn't leave me here waiting, right?  I ended up waiting for 45 minutes!  She came over once to tell me to continue soaking.  But when we both looked at my nails, the acrylic had almost fallen off my nails.  The tips of my fingers were wrinkled and had turned white.  She told me to soak again and walked away.  Other patrons noticed my long wait and spoke loudly, asking me "Gosh, how long do you have to wait?  or What are you getting done that takes so long?"  I agreed and looked over.  Iris was yapping up a storm talking about her personal life to her other client.  I was more than irritated.  Another manicurist came by and sat in front of me.  She apologized for the wait and started to clean my nails.  I was relieved and at that point grateful.  Iris caught wind of the other manicurist and came running over.  Obviously, these two did not get along.  Iris then called the receptionist into the back room. They were gone for a few minutes and came out.  Iris walked back to the client in the pedicure chair and the receptionist called the other manicurist into the back room.  For the love of god, was I ever going to have my nails done?  For a 12:30PM appointment, it was now 2:00 PM.  The manicurist who started services must have gotten a tongue lashing because she came back and put a towel over my hands and told me I had to wait for Iris.  Another 10 minutes later Iris comes to me acting as if nothing happened.  She acknowledge my wait, by blaming "soaking off takes a long time and that it was a long minute."  I didn't care.  I was so ticked, I just wanted her to get the job done.  I read the reviews and now wanted to see how "wonderful" she really was.  The nails were a bit thick for my taste, but they looked neat.  It was a new set.  I was rung up for almost $70 (excluding tip) and ran out due to a meeting I had.  It wasn't until later did i realize she didn't put the gel top coat on and my nails on my right hand were shorted than the left.  I ended up not receiving a service I paid for and wasted a good portion of my day.  I left close to 3:30PM.
A week later, all my nails started lifting.  I had to get another full set replaced to remove her handiwork.  What a waste of time and money.  The place looks nice and it has potential for being a really great place.  But the teamwork environment that is typical at other nail salons really sucks here.  This will hurt their gain for profit .  Who wouldn't want to turn over chairs quickly?  And please, do not air your personnel problems for everyone to see.  Save it for after hours or your staff meetings.  I won't be coming back.

Love the peaceful environment.  Great musics always playing.  Receptionist is great.  Lynn can do some eyebrows!!! :) & there's nothing like sitting in the comfy chair sippin on your ice tea.  Parking can be a little hard to grab, but other than that it's my favorite spot to get pampered!

I have to say I love this place. I have only been coming here for about a year and a half to date. Daniel does my hair and Lynn does my eyebrows. I either have Diane or Muey do my pedicure and manicure. This place has very nice decor, friendly employees, and on top of that they offer complimentary drinks, while getting your pedicure. What more can a girl or guy ask for. Lynn and her employees really tend to your every need. I will continue to support this Black business for years to come.

I have been a loyal client at Oasis Pamper Bar for nearly three years. I have had birthday celebrations, graduation preparation, anniversaries, and business meetings at this delightful urban gem. The care and professionalism afforded by Lynn and her team are remarkable. These brave souls were even able to tend to my 60 year old father-in-law's frightening ogre toes!

Lynn is an awesome young woman and should be proud of the wonderful business she's got going in Emeryville.  The last time I was there (wow, has it been two weeks already) was the day before Mother's Day and Lynn was serving up Bellini's for her clientele as well as the usual snacks she puts out.  Classy, upbeat, clean and drama free! Oasis Pamper Bar is a great place to get your nails, eyebrows and whatever other pampering you need done.  Four stars because there always seems to be a little confusion in the switch from pedi/mani to brow station - but still worth the wait 'cause I always feel and look great when I walk out of there.  Little pricey, but the atmosphere and the treatments are worth every single penny.

I have to say that I am really impressed with the Lynn and her staff and the way they do business.  I look forward to the experience that I get when I visit the salon and I feel rejuvenated after I leave.  The complimentary drinks are definitely a plus.  I have tried many nail salons and by far this is one of the best in the east bay.  They only use OPI nail polish which is the top of the line and for the women who wear their natural nails this is a plus because they definitely stay on longer than the Santini brand that the other salons use.
