A hidden gem! With no (I should say "obvious") direct entrance from the street this place seems like it'll be another super-tiny coffee joint. So no true. This place is HUGE. It's got a handi-capable ramp, enormous amounts of comfy seating (like the comfy couch like seats I'm in right now), free wifi, the usual assortment of bagel treats, prices that aren't exactly rock bottom ($2.5 for a small coffee, but my water was a reasonable $1 for a bottle of arrowheads finest).

Did I mention the bathrooms? Hidden waay in the back are two enormous and sparkling clean bathrooms. Easily the cleanest bathrooms I've come across in SF, maybe ever. And large. You could hold a conference or dinner party in these things.

A TV overhead is curiously tuned to Telemundo en espanol and a rather plump lady is shaking her scantily clad booty around but not being much noticed by the crowd.

    Lots of electrical outlets.

Lots of sunlight from the copious but rather high windows. This place is stellar.

From the other reviews I'm guessing this place has great sandwiches. Don't know. Just had some Mickey D's so am not hungry. Will try later. I swear.

The neighborhood's best coffee! They grind it up for you fresh and there is quite a variety from which to choose. I usually opt for the Organic New Guinea Tribal Aromas. Yum.

Also, try their "Chicken Malibu" sandwich: chicken and your choice of cheese with bacon or ham. I get mine on toasted sourdough with pepper jack and bacon. Heaven!

I was going to give this place 4 stars and my roommate asked me if there was anything to complain about and I said no. So, I am a fan.

I ordered #3 the carnivore. Pastrami and sausage sandwich on Dutch crunch jack cheese and no mayo. My friends both had BBQ chicken and also enjoyed it. For 9 bucks it included a tasty side green salad.

There was 1 owner there working and she did a great job. It was prepared in a timely fashion. Next time I look forward to trying a coffee, milk shake, or beer next time.

They have a flat screen and wifi. It's also super close to my place and is a healthy alternative to el Rancho taqueria nearby.

So I'm eating a BLT w/ avocado as we speak, purchased from Oasis, to-go.

I'm pretty sure It's going in the compost.

First of all, I payed a dollar extra for that stupid avocado, and it ISNT even on it!

Second of all, The bread is something you'd find at Lucky. On sale, Sliced, stale, dry, gross.

Thirdly, all of the produce is chopped up like something out of a Taco-Bell crunchy taco.

And lastly, The ghetto attached dollar+ store is creepy as fuck, and the staff was borderline-rude.

I want my 9 dollars back.

I should've gone to Bean bag.

This is my escape plan from Matching Half on Baker.

Unlike that other place, Oasis knows what cafes require these days: POWER OUTLETS!!!!!!

When a business offers free wi-fi ,you'd think they'd have consideration for people who use devices, such as computers, to access their wi-fi.

Oasis has planned accordingly, and so they have plenty of plug in ready, electricity filled glory holes waiting for your technological defiling.

All in all, it's a chill atmosphere, plenty o' space, has coffee and the like...coffee isn't the best but suffices...food, never eaten, can't comment. I just worry about getting my work done.

I had a breakfast plate here - the eggs and toast and bacon or sausage deal. It was just ok, which is what you'd expect for your corner cafe.

The tables here are too small to work comfortably. And I really really wish they put out milk and half and half at the self-service counter. It's so annoying to have to ask the waitress to pour in more milk or half or half. I also wish they had a trash can that didn't have one of those hard to push in flaps - it is so unhygienic. I would love to make this my go-to place, but it's missing those little things that would make it more comfortable (and clean).

Found this place when we were waiting 45 mins for our table at Little Star--$3 beers on tap? ok!
Chill, quiet coffee shop vibe, plenty of tables, & service was fine. If you're in the area and have time to kill, this is a good choice.
Plus they had these cookies on the counter that looked really good!

Coffee is okay. Maybe it depends on who you get, but my barista certainly didn't share the enthusiasm for coffee I read about in prior reviews. She was, however, quite efficient.

Grind. Hastily pour water over. Slap on a lid. The whole process took about 20 seconds.

Definitely better than the places that have those awful black and orange topped pots they walk around with, but certainly not up to coffee made one cup at a time standards.

I guess I was just expecting too much. At least the seating was super plentiful even in the middle of the day on a Saturday.

Beans are good but drip coffee is way too tepid. Cannot survive in the cold neighborhood!

Free Wi-Fi is sporadic depending on seating. The best is by the large sofa, away from the entrance.

The best about this cafe is quiet ambience, friendly services (Great for study) and large TV screen for occasional sport games. Was so exciting to watch World soccer matches!

Not warm enough to be at the park. Not cold enough to stay in bed. It was the perfect temperature for a relaxing cafe afternoon.

A few tips to make your afternoon at Oasis as enjoyable as possible:

    - Grab a seat by the open door. You get fresh air without the chill.

    - Need caffeine? Americano are potent and smooth, and sugar free syrups and nonfat milk and available.

    - Bring your laptop battery pack for maximum web browsing. There are plenty of outlets available to stay powered up.

    - Can't go wrong with the BBQ chicken on a wheat roll. (granted you can almost never go wrong with BBQ sauce)

Effusive service. Plenty of comfortable seats even if you don't want to be near the door. Welcoming ambiance.

An excellent option for those days in between park and staying in bed.

I really want to like Oasis.  I like that its sunny during the day and open late at night.  I like that the staff is always smiling and friendly.  However 3 things bug me and I can't shake them.

    1. Whatever they bill as a French Roll is not.  Its weird soft, sweetish bread.  Not good but not gross and definitely NOT a French roll.

    2. Even if you tip them they don't bring you your food. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying.

    3. Round tables are a serious turnoff for laptopping. I mean I wouldn't say anything im general but, come on, they have a huge banner outside advertising their wifi to attract laptop campers.

All and all its fine.  I Just think in a neighborhood with some pretty great competitors they should step it up.

I've really been meaning to give Oasis a review for awhile...

I love this new addition to the neighborhood- the family that owns/runs the coffee shop is extremely friendly, it's nice (and rare) to see any family owned/runned businesses around these days.

The coffee is DELICIOUS- I immediately could tell the difference between the coffee they serve here and the coffee served at the surrounding cafes that line Divisadero.  The coffee (Rodgers Coffee, located in the mission) is handbrewed one cup at a time.  The cardamom (which they will add, at your request, no extra charge (i think)) is great- I highly recommend it.  The Mr who owns this also takes such great pride in the coffee that is served here- as self proclaimed "coffee lover" he gave me the 5 minute low down on the coffee scene in SF- it was quite adorable and honestly refreshing to see a business owner who takes such pride in his business.

The environment is also not pretentious  THANK god there is a place on Divisadero that hasn't been infiltrated by skinny jeaned hipsters with their too cool mac book pros and toms shoes.  I hope this doesn't happen to Oasis, the little gem I found in my neighborhood.  The beer special here also gives Bean Bag a run for their money, but I dare not mention how cheap the beer is here - I think I'll be selfish and keep that to myself :)

All in all- a clean, quaint place to study with greatcoffee, friendly service, and yummy study break snacks.  Highly recommended.

They have the basics down: Good coffee. Free wifi. Plenty of outlets. Friendly staff. Take credit cards.

But weird music. Expensive food - $5 for a bagel, egg & cheese?!  I feel ripped off!  If this was the only coffee shop in the neighborhood, I wouldn't bitch.  But it's not.  Don't think I'll be going to this place over Abir or Beanbag again.

I work from home, so getting out of the house to work during the day keeps me from turning into a scary hermit cat lady.

I used to frequent Cafe Abir, but, on top of ridiculously high prices ($2.75 for a bottle of coke!!??), their wifi is spotty and I found the music increasingly terrible. Cafe Apollo has a super nice owner, but it's like a library and has no real food options.

Enter Oasis.  I was hesitant about coming here for way too long cause it's connected to a sketchy dollar store.  Once I got over that, I was thrilled to find a new home office.  Nice people, good working music (mostly jazz) and lots of empty tables.  Prices are way cheaper than Abir, and the owners aren't total douches.  Huge fan!

PS I don't drink coffee and haven't ordered their sandwiches, so take all of this with a grain of salt if you're looking for a quality caffeine fix or tasty meal.

I was very wary of this place when it first opened up.  Another cafe in the neighborhood?  One that occupies the same space that was once a dollar store and, before that, a neighborhood church?  Really?  Truly?  Honestly?  It couldn't be good.  No way.

But oh it is.  It's very good.  It's excellent.  It's basically five stars except I've only been a couple of times, and those times were separated by exactly three days, so I need to increase and space out the visits before I'll pump it up to five stars.  But I think I will, and that's good.

There's a grand-entrancey kind of ramp, and the appointments, while not necessarily fitting, are clean and new.  There are a variety of table sizes and locations, and the chairs are more comfortable than they look.  The food is good, and the person working here both times I came was really efficient and nice.  Not overly friendly; but he did somehow impart, the second time I visited, that he remembered me from the previous Monday.  But he didn't actually mention it.

What am I doing?  Five-star reviews are few and far between, but there's no need to wait.  I can always kick Oasis Cafe in the shins if it so deserves, but why risk it joining the graveyard of other neighborhood businesses not too long ago opened?  Thrive, Oasis, thrive.

Great spot to grab a unique cup of coffee.  The secret ingredient is cardamom which is new to me but I find it adds a nice enough spice to an otherwise regular cup of Joe.  The staff here is friendly, they have beers on tap and serve wine, I mean what's not to like?  It isn't a pretentious coffee shop filled with hipsters, just your local neighborhood spot where you can pop in with your messy hair and get your coffee to go.  $3 for a medium with all the fixings, they get mine right every time.  Give the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe a shot, cardamom and all.

Everyone on the block seems a bit tentative in checking out this new spot on the block, but once peeps give it a chance, I'm sure Oasis will have a big following.

With lots of delicious coffees (definitely one of the best americanos on Divis) and sandwiches, plus the cheapest beer on the block since Bean Bag raised their prices, Oasis is 'da spot, offering free wi-fi and comfy and plentiful seating.

Unlike other coffee/beer spots on Divisadero, Oasis isn't overcrowded, so when you come with your laptop, you will actually get work done. Though I'm giving it a couple months to catch some steam and be another place we all shut our macs down after 10 minutes of people watching.

    Great addition to the block!

Right across the street from my apartment, Oasis Cafe offers some great coffee, cheap (but good) beer, a quiet comfortable place to do some work on the computer, and some pretty good food. Wi-fi is free and fast.

Not too many places on Divisadero have a good bagel and lox. Oasis definitely delivers on that. Coffee is Rodgers and they have a nice selection and it's drip brewed one cup at a time. My girlfriend gets a vanilla chai latte that she enjoys - I've tried her's a few times and it tastes good (though I'm no latte enthusiast).

Sandwiches for lunch are ok but nothing special. New Belgium Ranger IPA on tap for $2.50 - bonus.

Everyone that works there is incredibly friendly and nice.

All around - good place for a snack or to get away and get  some work done with a beer or coffee.

This cafe is bomb diggity! Came here the other night due to some insider information about how good the sandwiches are. The info did not disappoint! I had a huge pastrami sandwich on dutch crunch that came in around $7. This sandwich along with the side salad that it came with filled me up. They also have milkshakes, smoothies, bagels and coffee. The coffee looked good, but I wasn't in the mood...maybe next time.
The interior is very nice; high ceilings, very clean and modern decor and the lighting was adequate. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the tv blasting Oprah, but they did turn it down before I left. Definitely will be back here.

Any place that serves beer on tap for $2.50 is an automatic four stars in my book! Although, funnily enough I didn't have beer last night. I had their hot chocolate which was rich and creamy, a delightful treat.

Oasis Cafe is a new little joint on Divisadero with a pretty darn good space. There's lots of seating and a big flat screen to watch sports or whatever else is going on. They serve a variety of things: fresh squeezed juice, sandwiches, beer and wine, coffee, and pastries to name a few.

They're open late too so if you want a place to grab a few cheap beers with some friends this would be a great spot.

I came here not too long ago to finish up on a Math course I was taking online. I was strolling for a good cafe with free wi fi to do my studying in. Luckily enough, I came across this cute little place. It was mentioned before however, that the location is not all that great--- and I agree. It is on the corner of an intersection, the other corners being a liquor store and a dollar store. Despite the crappy location, the inside of the cafe is very nice and spacious.

What I liked the most about this place would probably be the workers. I came in on a really gloomy Thursday morning and ordered a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee (which was very yummy) and the nice man just sparked an interesting conversation with me. He asked me about my day, how my week was going in a very nice fashion.

I stayed there for a really long time, probably 6 hours or so-- but the workers didn't seem to mind. They'd turn up the volume of the TV when something interesting came on. I remember it being the day they overturned Prop 8 and there was a huge crowd around my table because it was seated right in front of the flat screen. I actually enjoyed the amount of people who stayed there. It wasn't extremely packed like it would be at a Starbucks or even any other local coffee shop. There would sometimes be an influx of people, but most of the day it maintained a nice working environment for those who want to study or just want quite time.

A few minor setbacks would be the long corridor you'd have to walk in to get to the bathroom. Also, getting here is pretty inconvenient for me only because the only bus I could take to get here would be the 24. The 24 is great though-- for people who take the 24 frequently or is easily accessible to it.

I do hope they do well even through tough times.
Oh! And their couches are fabulous!

Friendly service, good coffee, lots of seating, free wifi, open late.  Their sandwichy stuff runs about $7-$9, which is pretty decent.  No comment on food quality, haven't tried it yet.  Empanadas are $4.50, just FYI.

They sometimes have movie showings, which is pretty cool -- and during the movies, they offer discounts on beer, which is even cooler.

So, for that stuff, a couple stars -- but, honestly, the service isn't consistent: definitely always friendly, but sometimes the person preparing my coffee clearly has no idea how to make the particular (common, not at all unusual) drink I've ordered, and it comes out nearly undrinkable.  And occasionally, I've tried to stop in during the last 2-hour window of their regular hours...and they've been inexplicably closed.

So, I guess I have to go with three stars at this point -- because sometimes it's a 4-star situation, and sometimes, unfortunately, kind of a 1-star.

The Eritrean owners are totally nice, the space is bright & full of windows, they serve Rodger's one-cup-at-a-time (he who taught Phil of Philz everything he knows) & have a pretty decent menu of cafe food.

Now, just ONE suggestion. Serve some delicious Eritrean food! Not Waziema-style (we've already got one of those in the hood). I'm thinking more like Assab on Geary. Really hearty, spicy Eritrean food. That would put Oasis over the top.

The amazing coffee is a great start, though. Easily a better cup than Apollo, Abir, Mojo, Bean Bag, Central, or any other coffee shop in the hood is slingin'.

I'm really conflicted about giving this place so few stars, but I have a reason.

The great points about Oasis Cafe is that it's one of the larger and more comfortable coffee shops in San Francisco. Although the establishment is nondescript and a little sterile looking, it has high ceilings, plenty of seating areas, including puffy chairs and benches, and surrounded by windows to let in light.  The staff is friendly and gives you plenty of time and space to work if you choose to set up shop and take advantage of their free wi-fi.  The music (set on a pop radio station) isn't loud so you can concentrate on either your conversation or work.  Lastly, there's easy wheelchair access.  That's always a plus despite how I don't need it.

I hate to slander any establishment unless I know they deserve it, but my stomach isn't feeling so hot today and I am pretty sure the culprit is how Oasis prepared my Iced Coffee.  Now, I don't think it's just the Iced Coffee alone-I asked the woman at the counter to add some milk.  I witnessed her take the steamed milk resting on top of the espresso machine to add it in my drink.  I'm not an expert on food safety practices, but I'm pretty sure that steamed milk being added to iced coffee isn't the safest of food practices.  Just to clarify, I did not witness it being aerated anytime I was there (she helped a couple of people before me, and none of them ordered an espresso drink) and she did not check the temp to make sure it was safely above 140 degrees.  So, I'm going to blame that on today's stomach problems.

If someone corrects me on this, I'd be happy to update my post and apologize for this accusation, but until then, I am not a happy customer.

My girlfriend first spotted Oasis about a couple of weeks ago.  This was perfect timing since our old Sunday afternoon spot (Oak Street Cafe) closed its doors for good.

So today, Sunday, we decided to come here for afternoon coffee, reading, and tinkering on the internet.  I could not have been more pleasantly surprised.  The coffee is individually prepared, and is leagues above the other coffee spots on this stretch of Divisadero.

So I am guessing I will be back here next Sunday for an afternoon coffee followed up with an afternoon beer.

Did I mention the prices are really good, and a Sunday afternoon happy hour.  I'm a happy camper.

I've been to Oasis Cafe four times since it opened. I love good cafes. I love good coffee. I love this place! First, the coffee is great. I hadn't tried Rogers brand before, but much like Philz, they grind and drip brew it one cup at a time. There are a half dozen or so to try, even a special Divisadero blend. My favorite, so far, is the Columbia Supremo. Good stuff!

Okay, then there's the atmosphere. Mellow music that doesn't compete with your conversation or your work mojo...lots of tables and comfy couches...and the staff is polite and attentive. Haven't tried the food yet, but it looks great from what I've seen.

Okay, gotta run...time to try the Ethiopian!

Cafe connected to the dollar store? Surely this place can't be good. Oh was I completely wrong. They make drip coffee by the cup from at least 10-12 different bean choices. I chose Rocket Fuel and asked for cream and sugar and they put the perfect amount in there. Not too sweet and not too washed out. I also got an everything bagel with cream cheese and sun dried tomatoes....yummy.

It's quite a large cafe as well so plenty of room to relax and they serve beer and wine. AND it's a block away from my place.

I'm not normally very picky, but the whole trend of coffee shops who think there way of coffee preparation is the best makes me unhappy. I prefer to put my own creme and sugar in. This place does it for you. When they don't do it the way you like it, you've got to then get them to fix it.

So the one time when a new employee put skim milk and no sugar in my coffee... I was not pleased. I will likely only return if Matching Half is closed.

I love this new place. It has a cozy atmosphere. The food is good. I've had the turkey sandwich (huge, enough for two), bagel with lox, fresh squeezed apple juice, the Rogers coffee is good, and had $2.50 beers. Hidden Gem on Divisadero. Highly recommend checking it out.

I heard music there last week and I have to say was very impressed with the women who were playing . Look forward to going often.

Still a fan of this place. The coffee is great. I love the cardamom they'll add if you ask. The owners and workers are very nice, although there's one woman who often forgets to add the cardamom or leave out the heavy(?) cream. That's okay; I just remember to ask her a couple of times.

I wish they'd just put out milk and cream so we'd be able to add our own.

The place is spacious and comfortable and hasn't been crowded any time I've been there. The widescreen TV is kind of odd but I guess I can ignore it.

They make pretty good salads. Nothing super fancy, but a decent meal for a coffee place in the 'hood.

As far as outdoor seating, there are a couple of tables out on the sidewalk on McAllister.

Nice little cafe. They prepare individually brewed drip coffee, and they have about 10-12 to choose from. The one I picked was great, but I don't remember the name. I wasn't really feeling any of the sandwich options so I opted for a lox bagel. It was quite tasty, and stuffed full of lox, along with cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. Quite delicious!

The service is also extremely friendly. The cashier struck up a conversation with me (which is no small feat with socially inept people like me), telling me about the cafe, the area (I just moved here), and their plans for movie nights and music performances in the near future. I'll be back.
