This falafel is fresh, fast, and worth every penny. They fry the falafel to order and they pack the plate with food. I got the falafel platter which included a generous amount of humus, babaganush, pickled cabbage, and lettuce. They give you enough pita to make a few of your own falafel sandwiches.

Definitely worth checking out. Can't think of anything bad to say.

After walking by here everyday, I finally caved and decided to go in and order food.

    Lamb schwarma: 4 stars
    - only $5 no tax!
    - big whopping portion of juicy tender meat
    - packed with tons of veggies (beet salad was my favorite)
    - minus 1 star because my pita was stale and cold
    - not spicy enough... should've asked for extra spicy

Definitely worth the money. Just be prepared for the aftermath: tahini sauce all over your hands and pants.

So lucky that my favorite NY falafel place is right by my subway stop!

This place looks entirely unassuming.  The sign outside, the dining area, and the counter look totally generic.  But just $3 later and you'll realize that this place attracts a loyal customer base on its food alone!  The falafel is big, fresh, and well seasoned.   And the reason I like this better than Mamouns, better than Taim, is all the yummy relishes and salads that go on top!  Heaps of well seasoned, well textured veggies and sauces in a giant sandwich.

    Best cheap dinner around.

    Open late.

Great falafel, the pickles are the perfect touch.
Beet salad rocks. Baklava is perfection.

You can't miss it, it's right next to the Bedford Ave L train stop.

    I love the friendly employees.

Anyways, they make the best falafel in NYC in my opinion. It's huge and it costs only 3 bucks.

Many, many, many reviews of this joint. I have been here three times now. Never been let down. In fact, completely impressed. Fits the nabe. Step up, order your order and get out of the way.

Favorite falafel sandwich in the city.  $3 and stuffed to the brim (that's $3 flat - no tax, etc.).  I've always found the service to be friendly and quick, to the contrary of many posters.  I used to live around the corner, and the staff would wave at me when I walked by coming off the L train, even if I didn't come in to purchase food.

One of my favorites and a Brooklyn classic.  LOVE YOU OASIS!

Oasis is what I love about big cities. Cheap, delicious food.

I get the plate each time (instead of the sandwich). Usually I find falafel to be a bit heavy, but the salads and hummus make for a really fresh meal.

Only a couple of bucks and I'm filled to capacity and happy.

Beware...can get super crowded super fast, but it's easy to move through there quickly.

$3 for a huge friggin' filling meal. Best falafel in the city.

Okay, so it can make you feel a little greasy towards the end, but so do all falafels. Just tell 'em to go easy on the white sauce. But dude, I used to come here like, every three days when I used to live right by the Bedford stop. It's so much quicker and cheaper than going grocery shopping and making my own meals. Yah.

Every time I'm boozing in Brooklyn, I make it a point to grab a schwarma from Oasis before I hop back onto the L.  The delicious pita stuffed to the max with cabbage, onion, peppers, white sauce, and wonderful meat sops up enough drunk to avoid any hangovers in the morning.

The service is always a bit on the aggravated side, but I give them credit for dealing with and serving the crowds of drunken hipsters that infiltrate this place nightly in a quick and timely manner.

5 stars all the way for quick and hangover free delicious food.

$3 falafels with a good portion of fillings. $5 for a decent shish kebab ain't nothing to poke at either.

I told myself over two years ago that I'd never eat another Subway $5 foot long as long as I lived. It had become a problem, almost an addiction of mine while I worked in the garment district. They were cheap, loaded with mystery meat, and could become not only lunch, but dinner if I were so inclined. But after eating countless horrible Subway sandwiches I promised myself I'd never do it again, and swore that there had to be an alternative.

Cut to two years later, I now live and work in Williamsburg, and I haven't had a Subway Sandwich in years. Does this mean I eat $10 lunch specials on Bedford? No. Does this mean that I pack my lunch everyday before I go to work? Seriously? It simply means I found an alternative to the ultra cheap Subway Sandwich. Except this time the food rocks, and it's even a few dollars cheaper.

The $3 falafel pita is a staple not only on meatless Mondays, but for at least two other meals a week. I am actually eating one right now; the inspiration for this review obviously. But here's the thing, I have been eating this pita for almost as long as I'd been eating Subway and I've never, not a single time, been bummed about eating it. So packed with flavor compounded by the fact that you literally can't eat a cheaper meal, that each time I go there I almost feel guilty.

Everything else there is very good as well, but honestly 9 times out of 10 I'm walking out of there with a $3 falafel pita and a small side of hummus. Suck on that $5 foot long. I never like you anyway. And it WAS YOU, NOT ME!

Only falling short of the 5 stars since since the falafel sandwich could have had more flavor and same with the actual pita bread - but maybe the hot sauce would have helped?

Really, if I lived in Wburg I would be going here all the time.
For only 3 bucks you get a huge not-too-dry falafel pita sandwich stuffed with tasty ingredients - and lots of them.    Next time I just have to ask for more sauce or the hot sauce.

The place is crowded, fast, friendly and delicious.  They must keep their prices so low due to volume...for good reason.  Finally an almost-5 star find!!

This past Friday I was in a sorry state when I emerged from the L-train only to be greeted by a veritable DOWNPOUR. I was hungover, I was starving, I was rapidly becoming soaked... and then I stumbled upon a true Oasis.

I waited in the short line and ordered the $3 falafel "Spicy, with everything."
The result was unlike most falafel's I've had. It did not include hummus, but the soft pita came stuffed with pickles, tahina, hot sauce, and some kind of cabbage slaw. An unexpected combination, but it worked. I enjoyed my overstuffed sandwich and watched girls in faux-fur vests get soaked from the cool, dry comfort of Oasis' counter top.

As I took my last bite, the clouds parted, the sun emerged, and I left Oasis feeling dry and satisfied.

Home of the best falafel in willyb, maybe new york. Yea, I said it. And I put my girlish figure to the test and went head to head with this place and the Taim truck back to back falafel - but Oasis takes it hands down. The rumors of a better falafel are unfounded.

Not only that, but check this out - so 6 years ago I lived in Willyb, but then I moved to California for 6 years. Now I'm back and the falafel sandwich is a) still awesome and b) it's still $3.50. I recall this conversation when I first returned a year ago:

Me: For real? You were charging 3.50 5 years ago dude...

Counter Guy (the older guy): Yea, what I can say the rent is the same.

Me: Yea, but the neighborhood blew up? You should be charging like 6 bucks.

    Counter Guy: Nah.

Me: You need to get greedier man...

You can't teach capitalism to anyone these days...but yea - good.

This place holds a special place in my heart because it was where I was when I decided to move to New York.

The owners are Palestinian, which makes the food so genuine and authentic, you just kind of melt when eating it.

The falafel, the harissa, the spinach pies, absolutely fantastic.

YOU:  A young, supple-breasted female walking back to the L train Bedford stop after a night of ill-advised activities focused on alcohol.  You have five dollars remaining in your wallet.  You know your apartment kitchen contains only dry lentils, French mustard, and seventeen containers of Greek yogurt you bought on sale.  If you don't eat, you might be sick.  Sexy.

ME:  A plate full of hot, savory food that can be consumed in under 10 minutes.  I represent all major food groups - meat (mystery lamb mixture), vegetable (pickles and other things who the fuck cares), dairy (yogurt mixed with crack), and carbs (bread in envelope form).  I cost a mere three dollars and come packaged in a discrete wax wrapper.

    LET'S DO THIS.  CALL ME.

There are oh so many places in NY to get falafel, but there is no place like Oasis in Billyburg. The price and quality of the food is unmatched. I have been coming to this joint for 5 or 6 years and will guiltily admit in this review that 99% of the time that when I am in BK, I stop to munch on one of the enormous and tasty falafel pitas they prepare!

This is tasty falafel on the CHEAP! For $3 you can get a pita jam-packed with pickled cabbage, shredded lettuce, tahini, sliced pickles with three crispy falafel balls, herbed onions and tomatoes, and HOT SAUCE if you so desire!

A word of advice: be sweet to the workers. If you get fussy or demanding and ask for more when they clearly give you a juicy portion, you will get a pita that appears deflated compared to other consumers in the joint.

The shawarma is very flavorful as well.

To picture this place, envision a small counter that lines up against the store's glass windows, several tiny two top tables,  and murals depicting desert oases. If you want to use the bathroom, they will buzz you in. You will only get access to the lavatory if you ask sweetly. There is a perpetual sign on the door that says the bathroom is "out of order", but to me this just adds to the place's general charm and personality.

Enjoy! You will leave full, satisfied and with a wallet that hopefully has a few dollars in it!

Will try the Shawarma and see how it goes, because that I can compare with the ones I used to have in Rotterdam, made by the indian-suriname people. real stuff...Anyway! its the kind of fast food that I like. Not too fatty, cheap and delicious! congrats!

Get off the L. Climb the grimy steps and emerge into fresh air. Welcome to the hustle, bustle of too-hip Williamsburg. But before you spin your heels towards the nearest whiskey bar and settle for free "pizza" walk straight into Oasis and order the falafel pita with the works. Add hummus. Big bite. Smile. Repeat.

Oh, and did I mention it is less than $4??

I want them to cater my wedding, funeral, whatever. I want to eat it till I DIE.

Seriously.. whoever isn't writing 5 stars, is either drunk, has poor taste, reads shitty Pitchfork reviews too much, or clearing hasn't had the Falafel sandwich for 3 fucking dollars.

Everytime I get to the end, and take the last bite, I explode in my pants. I mean, it's disgusting. People are looking at me, girlfriend leaves me for some other guy, and I have a lawsuit against me... but this place is amazing.

If I could choose where my mother had me, I would pick these floors any day. The place is always in immaculate condition. The bathroom currently doesn't work, but after you have a bite of the shawarma, you'll be pissing and shitting your pants from all of the excitement. So you're not going to need a bathroom. You're going to need a god damn doctor, because something is oddly wrong with you.

I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES! NO STOP! GO THERE, DON'T TAKE ANY PICTURES... JUST EAT IT!

It's tempting hopping off the L each day confronted with Oasis.  Most of the time deciding whether dinner should be a falafel sandwich is effortless because its that damn good and the price sure can't be beat at $3.

Unlike street vendors and its competitors in the area, the ingredients are incredibly fresh.  No more dry veggies!  All the veggies are semi seasoned from the lettuce, to red cabbage and onions.  This is the only falafel that I can eat with "everything."  If you enjoy pickles, pickles are added to sandwiches which I've witnessed no where else.

Babaganoush is excellent and comes with two pitas.  Leftovers are great for dipping tortilla chips/pita chips.

As careful as I am, I never fail eating the wax paper casing of the sandwiches.  Yup, it's that good.

It's amazing, go try it now!! The vegetables are so fresh and pickled, and it's the best healthy meal to go!

I had been wanting to check this place out for about a year until I actually stopped by. I recently read an article about how there is some falafel rivalry brewing between Oasis and Taim Mobile, a food truck that is usually parked right around the corner from Oasis. Being a huge fan of Doner on Bedford Ave (which no longer exists but served delicious falafels), I came in with the intention of deciding where my favorite falafel place is in Williamsburg. (Note: I have not yet tried Taim Mobile!)

My opinions on the Oasis & Doner falafels:
    1. Oasis falafel costs $3, at Doner it cost $3.50
    2. Way friendlier workers at Doner
    3. Bigger falafels at Oasis
    4. Way better sauce at Doner
    5. Doner's falafels were less messy

I can say without hesitation that I enjoyed Doner's falafels more than that of Oasis'. However, Oasis' falafels are only $3 and is pretty filling. Just make sure you're not wearing your favorite dress when you're eating it, because you'll be dripping sauce all over the place!

DO NOT COME HERE! One of the younger, but big guys working behind the counter ATTACKED ME and TRIED TO PROVOKE ME TO FIGHT after closing their shop.

A bunch of my friends decided to come here after a fun Night Market event. Well, They wanted falafel but me and another guy wanted street meat, so we went across the street and got some of their food and went back into the place to reconvene. Upon entering, they started yelling at us that they were closed. I told them that they couldn't be closed because my large group of friends (about 7) were all eating there. They kept yelling they were close. Then that younger big guy starts pushing me towards the door saying they're closed. Only then they say you can't bring in other food. But I wasn't eating it I told them. I was just trying to figure out what we were going to do next. The guy kept pushing me towards the door so I tell him to not touch me. I leave on my own accord and I end up eating my food outside of the establishment, where we parked.

After closing up the place, the same guy who pushed me towards the door came back out and got in my face saying "Hey Motherf*ucker, you want to be tough? I'll beat the sh*t out of you." and SHOVED ME TO THE GROUND and then aggressively approached my friends

Rather than fight, we called the police on him, but as usual the cops were completely apathetic.

Then the other older guys came out, saw everything and told us that if we wanted we could come back for a free falafel. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? PLEASE BOYCOTT THIS ESTABLISHMENT for this alone.

Bringing other food into an establishment does not allow you to attack people! Offering free food does not make assault ok.

There's tons of other places to get good falafel. Please do not chose this one.

I can't believe I've never reviewed Oasis.  I used to live on their falafel and shawerma.  I find their fixings and sauces to be near perfect, the falafel very crispy, and the shawerma flavorful and not too greasy.

Pro tip: try the side of beet or carrot salad if you're still hungry.  Both are extremely garlicy and wonderful.

Does noone else think that the sandwiches here are wayyyy too salty? I mean yea, it's great that they don't hold back on their toppings but I've always had to tell them to go easy on the pickled cabbages.

The reason why I continue to come back here is because of the location. It's right next to the L train at the Lorimer stop. It's a convenient stop for a cheap late night snack.

I do have to admit that their falafels are really good here. I had stuck with the schwarma sandwich until a couple of nights ago when I only had $3 in cash with me. They were right about to close but they still took our order (Thanks Oasis!) and let us stand in there to eat (it was snowing out!) while they were closing up shop. So we stood inside, slightly inebriated, with our falafel sandwiches in hand (mine had extra hot peppers) and despite the place stinking of bleach, that falafel sandwich was pretty tasty.

I've decided to up this rating to four stars after having tried the hummus and baba ghanoush as sides. Both are very good. Also, in the last several months I have tried falafel sandwiches at SEVERAL different places, including at Taim (which has been voted best falafel in the city) and I consistently prefer the sandwich at Oasis! Cheap, open late and right by the train, this place will keep getting my business.

2nd best falafel sandwich I've ever had! 2nd least expensive too!

Like someone else said, I would move to NY just to eat at a place like this regularly. Holy hell, that falafel was good!! And for $3?? C'mon, baby Jesus couldn't have concocted a better deal.

The falafel was plentiful and was comprised of delicious, perfectly cooked falafels, marinated(?) red cabbage, onions, tomato, tahini and pickles that are homemade I understand. A divine combination of flavors that filled me up for the whole night of drinking. Just wonderful!

I really cannot wait to return to Brooklyn to hit this place. Possibly more awesome than a double rainbow.

Also, it's right in front of the L stop. C'est magnifique!

Right next to the L-train, a $3 delicious falafel made quickly by friendly and patient staff turned me into a fanatic. It's the perfect place to grab a quick and satisfying bite. Even my very meat-and-potato eating father has to admit the food is fantastic.

This place is 5 stars for what it is - Middle Eastern fast food that is delicious, fast and cheap.

It's also like 4 steps outside of the Bedford L stop.

Personal fave is the shawarma sandwich with everything + hummus + hot sauce. Big, messy and wonderful. Grab extra napkins.

I would venture to say the best bang for your buck when it comes to Middle Eastern cuisine in all of the city. Seriously no one can top 3 bucks and it's damn tasty as well. Deli style setup with the counter and most of the dishes viewable from behind the glass counter. Local folks with local charm although it might take a little effort to make friends with the employees.

The veggie plate is also a serious contender when it comes to value. 6 bucks for a full plate of fresh veggies, hummus, and two fresh pitas. Sit down with whatever cheap delicious menu item you might choose and watch the silliness that is Williamsburg from the street front window. Oh how this city can charm me.
