You can roll down San Pablo by bike bus or car and think to yerself,
I wish I had a huge corned beef sandwhich like they serve at Brennans in Berkeley. Then you see the red neon in the window of the Oaks card room that reads "hof bra" and you say it too and pretty soon you've got a nice, not too pricey, three pound hoagie to keep you company. Go ahead, eat at a bar table watchin sports with the locals or you can grab your meal to go and pass out at home with a pleasant food coma like yours truely.
This place has some great hof-brau style food. Great turkey wings and legs, mashed taters, roast beef, as well as burgers, sandwiches and a few daily specials. And a ton of other stuff. The place is a little dingy and dark , but they have excellent food and cold beer-they even serve breakfast! I have been going there for over twenty years, and I have never been in the casino part of the house. But I'll be there again soon for one of those big-ass turkey legs!!! Check it out!!
