As long as I remember my family has always enjoyed coming to Oak Glen. We enjoy the drive up to the mountains. We enjoy visiting the orchards, the restaurants and the shops. When my husband and I first met he had never heard of Oak glen. We have been married for 10 years and we go at least once a year. Of course the best time to go is during the apple harvest festival. One of the places which we really like to visit is the Los Rios Ranch which I will do a of review later. We also like to visit Apple Annie's, they have a great breakfast. Be sure to visit Snow-line for the apple donuts (fall season) Yum! So if you enjoy apples and a down-home country setting, Oak Glen is the place to be.

What the hell is this? A swap meet with live animals? There are so many people here that the food operations cannot accomodate it. I had to wait 45 min. for a hot dog and apple "cider" that tasted more like tree top apple juice. When I tried to leave, the EXIT sign took me to a gate that only opened one way - IN. It was actually an entrance, isn't this a fire hazard? Never coming back again.
ps: The restrooms were just as filthy as the petting zoo cages. Someone should call animal control. -

I had heard a lot of Oak Tree Village and was excited to visit, especially since I happened onto the "Apple Blossom Festival." Which conveyed to me some sort of, I don't know, festivities. May be we arrived too late. The festival was supposed to be Sat/Sun. We got there Sun at about two-ish.
If there was indeed a festival going on, I sure couldn't tell. Not a lot of hustle, bustle, or celebration going on. Place was kinda dead. The petting zoo was kinda sad.
Seeing the apple blossoms were nice, but there really isn't much going on here. I guess I should give it another go when apple season is actually on. -

My kids, husband and I had a great day in Oak Glen. We picked apples at Riley's which was tons of fun. Then we drove down the hill to have lunch at Apple Annies. The food is not spectacular but it is more about the atmosphere anyway. We also went to the petting zoo and the kids loved it. Fun socal day trip.

I guess you can call this "downtown" Oak Glen, and the main attraction for most. My family used to always eat at Apple Annie's as part of the Oak Glen ritual. This area has a bunch of shops and the Apple Annie's restaurant, but the main attraction is the animal park and all that goes along with it. It really has a county faire feel to it, from the petting zoo to the pig races to the pony rides to the kettle corn to the moon bounce. There is a small fee for admission to the animal park. If moms get bored there are a bunch of clothing and crafty stores and booths. I guess this is supposed to be the highlight of the day for the kids, so if you're here with kids, you must stop here and do the animal park. To be honest, as a kid, I much rather preferred eating apples, and I hated petting zoos (evil petting zoos). Very crowded, even at the end of apple season. Additional entertainment on weekends. As an adult with no kids, the village has little appeal for me, but if you're here with the family, it's essential.

I just wanted to put in a good word for all the other vendors and food stands you'll find in the vicinity of Oak Tree Village. Last weekend I was able to get a great deal on locally made raw honey, and my brother got a big bag of avocados for $1. Score!

We went to the Oak Glen Village yesterday and it was the CRAP of the earth.
We first went to the General Store and we went to try the apple cider. The sales attendant rudely got up and yelled at us saying that this was NOT self serve...then why do they have the cups and apple cider out? I was so APPALLED that she would yell at us in front of my children and family... I told everyone in our group what happened and we all walked out NOT buying ONE thing. I would NEVER go back there again. You NEED to teach your employees how to be respectful to customers.
Secondly, we went to the so-called petting zoo. We paid three dollars to get in and cages were filthy and the animals looked like they were being abused. The animals were so aggressive that I had to take my children out of there. Then we walked up to Johnny Appleseed's Cabin and that was really cool.
Thirdly, no stores were opened. Only the General Store , with the girl with with glasses who was RUDE, and the handmade crafts by Barb and Rob woodwork were opened. That was it..no hay ride, train ride nor anything else for my kids.
Rob and his wife were the sweetest two people I have ever met. They truly made my experience pleasant. thank you!!! I hope that your business will flourish due to your kindness...
We finally made it over the Apple Annie's. They have the BEST pie EVER made. There pies are filled with 5 lbs of apples..WOW!!! The server that served us was the NICEST person. NO WONDER why they are still around. They know how to treat customers when they come in, unlike the lady w/ the glasses at the General Store (she should be fired). Anyways, thank you Apple Annie for baking the BEST pies and for having polite servers. I would recommend eating here if you plan to visit Oak Glen, CA.
