3 reviews for Oak Park Ice Skating Arena
I went to Oak Park Ice Skating Arena for the first time late-September. I prefer this much over the plastic "Ice Skating" with the Ice on the Delta.
The prices are reasonable (check the site for prices; get the most out of it; number of hours, or money - discounted sessions).
I went on a Friday for the 8:00 - 10:00 P.M. session. There were only a a handful of people, but as it got to around 9:00, there was a nice 2 dozen on the ice. At around 9:00 PM, they clear the ice to have it resurfaced (which took about 10-15 mins.).
Great place to take the family or to go with a group of friends.
People at the counter are nice and very helpful. They have a small arcade, some vending machines (drinks/chips), lockers (to store your stuff, so bring quarters!) and a ice skating shop, but they weren't open when I was there. I recommend this place to just go out and have fun. I plan to go again in a week and the week after that with friends. :D
Note: take your camera! It's great to take pics/vids of your family/friends falling on their ass.
For reference: went on 09/28/07
Oak Park ice skating arena is a great spot to take kids, it's fun for the whole family, inexpensive and they have yummy hot coco to sip when you're done with the ice... don't expect any frills, just plain value ice skating here.
it's really about 3.5 stars.
Man I had a blast at this place. Its really cheap and they do allow alot of time to skate. Skates are a lil beat up but you get what you pay for. Not that crowded and the staff and customers are pretty friendly. Nice for 2 or 22!
