This is a very scenic course that is located in the heart of Oak Mountain State Park. I believe #6 is one of the most beautiful golf holes in town. It is a par 3 that plays around 150 yards from the white tees. Rising up behind the green is one of Oak Mountain's many ridges. The ridge is completely filled in with mature hardwood trees. The view from the tee box is spectacular during the fall. The entire park is really beautiful, and especially during the fall.  

The course is inexpensive, and fun to play. The layout is fairly open, but not forgiving to stray tee shots. The course is spread out but still an easy walk. If you play at dusk there is a good chance that you will see deer and other wildlife on the course. The greens are Bermuda and were rebuilt several years ago. They are slow and have few undulations.

One complaint is that the pace of play can be slow, and especially on weekends.  The clubhouse and facilities were renovated in 2005, but still have the typical state park feel.   The starter and marshals are usually old geezers who are not very friendly.
