This is where I tied the knot. Walked up to the alter and walked away from the single life. Who knew what life would hold. Le sigh.

Despite how your marriage goes, I must say this is a wonderful place to have a wedding. The staff is lovely, helpful and great at hand holding. The church is gorgeous inside and out. I wanted a place that was warm, with rich woods and made everyone feel comfy from the moment that sat down. That is what I found at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church.

I also wanted a place where I could take a photo of EVERYONE who was part of my wedding outside. So the exterior had to be special. Picture me and 250 of my closest family and friends on the long, cascading steps of the church with the stone archways framing our party overhead. It was lovely!

The cost was reasonable. And if you're a member, it's next to nothing.

Bonus: It was right across the street from our reception venue, The Melrose Hotel.
