I found Dave's Oahu Airport Express on Yelp, and understood the qualifications on how to book. They are clearly stated on the company website. I made a phone reservation, no problem, and Dave himself arrived to take me to the airport. He was professional, friendly, prompt, and a good driver. The shuttle was clean and comfortable. We had a little snafu that was entirely my own fault, and Dave graciously accommodated me. Arrival was on-time, and we had a pleasant conversation on the way.
I needed a return pick-up, and he was going to be on vacation, so he recommended another service for my return. I appreciated his courtesy in connecting me with a reliable alternative even though it was with a potential competitor.

This is another instance where I just LOVE Yelp for introducing me to something I probably never would've found on my own.
This shuttle service is awesome -- it's like having your own personal driver! For a party of 1-4 people, it's a flat $30 fee. It can't get any better than that!

I would recommend this shuttle service to everyone! for these reasons...
1. your own personal shuttle. airport STRAIGHT to your hotel (not a big bus with multiple stops on waikiki to drop of 10 other parties)
2. the driver is there waiting for you to pick you up right away (no waiting!)
3. the driver definitely knows the city well they know when to SPEED up and SLOW down :) (you get where you need to be without being late)
4. BEST deal on service.$30.00 flat rate for 1-4 people in the waikiki area. (other places charge about 15-25 dollars a person.)
5. DAVE IS HILARIOUS! he gives great instruction on where we are to meet him/ the driver. my family and i had the best ride back to the airport and it was a great way to end our stay in Oahu with some fun conversation and funny stories from Dave!

NO where else are you going to find the service that you will find with Dave. I called him on Sunday afternoon for a pick up on Monday for the three of us. I meant to call sooner but it was after 9 PM Hawaii time and I didn't want to wake him. His reply: Oh, you could have called!"
Anyhow, I got off the plane and there was a voice mail waiting for me. It was Dave, checking to see where we were. He then guided me to where he was and who could miss him, waving and all bubbly. He was RIGHT outside the baggage claim so we did not have to walk very far. He loaded up all of our luggage and then took us to our hotel. Along the way my guys had a nice hilarious conversation with Dave about hammers and Hawaii. He had us in stitches! The ride went too fast!!
Dave unloaded our luggage for us and wished us well. I tipped him an extra $10 because, well, he really deserved it. My only regret: Not buying some of Daves 100% Kona Coffee. Next time I will!!

Thank you for everything!
We appreciated the peace of mind that we would have our own shuttle driver waiting for us upon arrival. No sharing and no other stops. Just straight to your destination.
Highly recommend to get you to the airport on time also.

I am definitely a list making planner so a few weeks ago when I started thinking about transportation from the airport to Waikiki, I decided on Oahu. I visited their website where it says to please call 1-3 days in advance. Imagine my surprise today (Monday) when I called and they informed be that they were already booked for Thursday. If I had known that I could book outside the 1-3 day window, I would have called 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, I will not be using the other shuttle service that they recommended.

Don't waste your time calling anyone else. Dave is the best and he treats you right. He knew when our flight was expected to land and HE CALLED US as we were grabbing our luggage from baggage claim. He was right outside baggage claim, loaded up all of our bags in the van, and entertained us with jokes and information about Honolulu during the ride to our hotel.

Found this company through Yelp. Used this shuttle service for the four of us for our ride from the airport to the hotel and back. Both times the driver was there on time. If Dave the owner doesn't pick you up he has an associate there instead. Cost was $30 per trip for everyone and we didn't need to stop at someone else's hotel like the other shuttle services. Definitely use this company for your shuttle needs and help support the small business owner.

Oahu Airport Express is convenient and relatively inexpensive. Sure, for two people riding on one of the buses is cheaper, but you also cannot schedule your pickup to suit your own personal schedule - plus you waste a lot of time just sitting on the bus standing still.

I called to make an arrangement with Oahu Airport Express shuttle service for an around trip from Honolulu Airport to one of hotels on Waikiki. I found them on Google and read review on Yelp. I wasn't impressed with the way people described they were treated, but service was reliable, price was right and I decided to give it a try. Person who answered the phone was EXTREAMLY RUDE right from the beginning. After I mentioned that I would be arriving in Honolulu only in a week, he lectured me that his website recommended to call for reservation 1-3 days prior arrival. He told me more than once that by calling week in advance I am trying to get up front of other people! When I suggested that I will call 3 days prior arrival, he said that they are very busy and can't guarantee reservation...I was shocked. I called different company and made a reservation with another company. It was fast, easy, same price, friendly person on the phone. I highly recommend NOT spoiling your mood by talking with the jerk!

I found Oahu Airport Express using Yelp. I called 4 days prior to my arrival to HNL (Jan 10). Dave was professional and took down my information. He provided me with instructions upon arrival. My flight was on United and it was very easy to find him once I got my luggage. I also made arrangements for him to pick me up at 0500 at my hotel for the return to the airport.
I enjoyed the direct services of the shuttle. I enjoyed the pleasant conversation with Dave. As a US Navy Reservist, Dave shared with me his experience as a former SAR swimmer. For those wanting to support a professional, local company that is Veteran owned, hands down go with Oahu Airport Express. Keep in mind that Dave employs other drivers so you may not be as fortunate to get Dave nonetheless, his company provides reliable with overall value from/to the airport on the island.

At the last minute, my husband tells me he can't pick me up from my mainland flight...so I call these guys.
BOOM. There they are, right outside the doors, waiting for me when I get off my flight. Friendly, flexible and affordable.
Van is clean. Driver friendly and safe, no charge for luggage and just me - right to my door - no sharing. I was a little light on cash, so I paid with a credit card and got no heat at all.
Seriously. What else can you ask for (besides an airport pick-up from the husband).

I usually cab it when I need a ride to and from the airport in Honolulu but I'm also not usually travelling with an entourage either. So when I needed to make arrangements for me, my sister, bro-in-law and nephew, I decided to find a shuttle to take the stress out of the ride to our hotel. I called a few days before our flight and requested a mini-van (in addition to us, we had a lot of luggage LOL). Dave took down my info and also gave me instructions on what to do once we got our luggage.
Once we arrived at HNL and grabbed our luggage, I called again to let them know we were ready to be picked up. Our driver was already there waiting, so we loaded up and were on our way. Candy was our driver and she was really nice, but kinda spacy. So much so that we almost didn't call for a return ride to the airport. I didn't really mind so much, but my sister had an expectation of more service, which I'll admit was a bit lacking. But hey, a $30 ride to the airport is pretty cheap, so I called again to make a reservation. I asked if we would be getting Candy again and Dave said he wasn't sure.
So fast forward to getting to the airport. I called to see where our driver was because it was a few minutes after our pickup time. Dave answered and said he was on his way as the other driver was stuck somewhere. Once Dave arrived, he quickly loaded the minivan and we were on our way. We had a nice conversation with him on the way to the airport - we told him about our previous experience - my sister really laid it out for him. I think he did well answering her concerns as diplomatically as possible. And as far as the experience with him, it was stellar - he gave us the kind of service that I expect from an executive/towncar type service.
Bottom line - I would not hesitate to use this service again and would definitely recommend for travelers to Oahu. As an owner, Dave gets it and I happily support those types of people/businesses.Listed in: Hello Honolulu!

I used these guys four times over the course of two back to back trips.
Dave (I believe that's his name), the owner, is a bit gruff on the phone, but the driver he assigned to pick me up, Candy, is a real nice lady.
Prior to traveling, I was given the instructions as to how the pick up would go down. They would be monitoring my flight so they could see if I was on time or delayed. Upon landing and retrieving my bag, I was to call and indicate that I was ready to leave. They would tell me exactly where to stand and *boom*, I'd be whisked away.
It went just like that.
When we were wheels down in HNL, I turned on my phone. I had a message from Candy, introducing herself as the driver who would be taking me to my hotel and that I should give her a call when I had my bag and was ready to go. Went to baggage claim, walked out and called her. Within a couple of minutes, she was at the curb and off my partner and I went.
During the trip to the hotel, I asked about paying with a credit card. Candy hesitated because I suspect she wanted the cash out right. I hesitated because I was saving the cash for my final destination. After a little back and forth, it was clear I wasn't paying with anything but the CC. When I told her what time I wanted to be picked up the next day, she was there early and ready to go. She got us back to the airport, no muss no fuss.
I indicated that I'd need pick up service the following Friday and she said to just call her direct. When I came back, the same procedures applied on my arrival and she took me to my hotel. Three days later, she picked up the FOH and I at our hotel to take us back to the airport.
This is where stars are lost. She had her other half in the van, which I suppose isn't that big of a deal, but very slightly unprofessional. The worst part was that she took a personal phone call as we got closer to the airport. We hit unexpected traffic and took a little longer to get to the airport than expected, so just as we got off the highway, I wanted her to get a jump start on getting the credit card approval so we could arrive curbside and get going. She was still on the phone, so I said, "Candy, let's get the credit card started". She told her friend she had to go, but apparently the friend kept on talking. So did she. Finally, I waved the credit card in the air and said, "Let's do this. Now."
All in all, very reliable and I would recommend Candy to anyone needing car service to Waikiki. We paid 30.00 each time for the two of us and all of our bags.
Don't try to take a cheaper route to the hotels like my FOH did...he thought he'd save a few bucks and he ended up taking a much longer route because of so many stops.

We used Oahu Airport Express to and from the airport and the Waikiki Marriott. Both times the drivers were prompt (they were each waiting for us when we came out at the arranged time) and courteous. I can't imagine ever using a different company - this is a great price for great service.

For $30 bucks and up to 4 peeps in a private van, just outside the terminal gates...a good deal.
* Called two days before my trip.
* Dave answered and was nice on the phone. Yeah, it's not a friendly lady voice on the other end, but come on - how often do you get that friendly smile and service from a Budget, Hertz, Avis rental ladies?
* His wife picked us up at the airport.
- On time
- Easy to find
- just outside the doors
- very friendly
- Drive was all streets (my dest. was Hilton Village)
- Wife and I ( but $30 for up to 4 peeps I believe)
- Talkative during the drive - gave some nice tips, and just a friendly person.
- Van was nice. Nothing high-class but compared to normal cab, the van was better.
Overall:
* Will use again.
* Not *high* class limo status, but very and better than cab.

Dave's Oahu Express is the way to go! On a recent trip to Oahu, Dave was my transportation from and to HNL. Each time, he was punctual, helpful, and professional, and kept us entertained during the ride with interesting stories. And, bonus points for picking us up without complaint at 6am on the day of our departure! Will definitely use Oahu Airport Express for future trips.

Have never been to Oahu, and I chose this company base on yelp reviews. Scheduling was easy and I was given very clear instructions on what to do upon my arrival. I was called when waiting for my bags and given precise instructions on where to meet my wonderful driver Andy. Andy was very pleasant and helpful. Would use this company again!!

Reliable and on time. Clean mini van. Nice driver. $30 for up to 4 people plus tip from airport to Waikiki. Great deal if you are traveling as group and don't want to deal with wacky taxi drivers and waiting for everyone elses' stops...which can be annoying. Highly recommended!

I agree with Michele D about Dave of Passport Shuttle (also "Dirt Cheap Shuttle")--he can be a be a little rough to talk to, but the service is impeccable. And, he's nicer in person. Dave picked us up at HNL--right on time. Great communication--very easy to contact.
When going back to the airport from our Waikiki hotel, he sent Bill to come pick us up. Bill's really nice and his estimate of how long it'd take to get the airport was right on--I secretly timed him. =D Yay Bill!

We'll be using Dave & team each time we're back to the island for several reasons. Service is good, extremely reliable, very reasonably priced, and attentive. You get curbside pickup and direct transportation to your destination (Waikiki hotel in our case) for less than a taxi. You save money over a cab and time over a group shuttle, and you also get the vehicle to yourself or your party. What more can you ask for? We found them on Yelp and the other reviewers are right on, made a brief phone call, and that was it. Pickup was super convenient, they were waiting as promised, and ditto on return trip. (In fact, exactly as Wendell said, our flight was a tad late and baggage claim super slow so we received a call-just to check in, absolutely no pressure-as we were waiting for bags.) Dave is friendly and personable and we'd recommend highly.

On time and totally reliable. No hassles. We paid $5 extra since we had 5 people. Mind you, two of my peeps are under 5 so they don't take up too much wrong and we were able to fit in the minivan comfortably with all of our luggage. We also arranged the return to HNL with the driver and he arrived at the designated time. We would definitely use them again.

Oahu Airport Express is the best shuttle service!!! Dave was on time and made the trip a pleasant one. Our flight was delayed two hours and he was aware of it and was there when we arrived.
i needed a ride back to the airpor to pick up a rental car and Dave took care of us again!
The van was very clean and it was a nice ride to the hotel. We didnt have to worry about our luggage as he took care of everything!

Reading all the good reviews from here, I gave Oahu Airport Express a try on my recent trip to Honolulu (April 2010). Called two days prior to arrival; courteous gentleman "Dave" took the call and clearly explained the process of pick-up at airport. $30 up to 4 people in a van from HNL airport to Waikiki is a fair deal. Upon arrival at HNL, I called Dave and within 3 minutes he was outside waiting to pick me up. Also utilized their service going back to the airport on return. Van was clean. Driver "Dave" very professional and prompt. I would use this service again without hesitation. Kudos to Oahu Airport Express.

Oahu Airport Express deserves all 5 stars from this jaded traveler. Flying in and out of Honolulu was a breeze, thanks to Dave's fantastic service. Don't expect a confirmation number when you call to reserve a pick-up; this is not a national chain! As soon as you're finished at baggage claim, call Dave, and he'll tell you exactly how to find him. We walked out the door to see him waving, ready to load our luggage and whisk us to our destination. Dave is punctual, friendly and knowledgeable. The cost is $30 for the ride; no matter the number of people or luggage. Add a nice tip!
