O-TREK is a scavenger hunt foot race that will guide racers though some of Oakland's historical sites and landmarks, businesses, and activities. Racers in teams of 2 to 4 will meet in the morning and submit their registration payment in cash to be given out as the CASH PRIZE* to the winners! *The amount of the cash prize is contingent on the number of racers involved in the race -- the more racers, the more registration fees paid, the more cash available for a cash prize! ;)
Sets of clues take racers to different checkpoints and challenges. The team with the fastest time wins!
O-Trek hopes to instill pride in Oakland by creating an interactive activity to engage citizens in Oakland's history, lifestyle, and economy. For the 1st annual race, sites have been chosen in and around Oakland's Downtown, Uptown and Lake Merritt Districts.
