I really like their half sandwich + soup combo.  Their sandwiches are really good!  Their salad bar is small but I like it because the items changes from day to day.  Like one day I had this really yummy curry flavored potato salad and another day they had little insalada caprese.

Also on a side note, I have a pickle obsession and my coworker got me a giant pickle from here for my birthday. Correct me if I'm wrong I don't know any other place around downtown that sells pickles that big, i'm pretty sure they were bigger than ones at jimmy john's.   (I uploaded a pic) anywhere that sells pickles on the side is an automatic win in my book.

The vegan sandwich here is the thing to eat. When I'm in the mood for gluten, I crave it.  It's field roast with peppers, onions, hummus, oil, vinegar, and olives that comes of focaccia but ask for the rye because it's better that way. This is the best vegan sandwich ($7) I've ever had, and I came into this shop and got it on a whim! The one I got from the 3rd ave location was much better than the 7th ave one. Plus the service was nice and accommodating here.

My family is from NYC, and I don't really get or like deli culture. Carnegie deli, no. Roxy's- yucko. But this place has high end chocolate bars, good drinks, caffe del arte coffee (albeit in styrofoam cups) and a mini grocery store in the back. They've got drinks, chips, pickles, a hot bar, a cold bar (caprese and noodle and the like). Everything. The only thing they don't have a lot of is seating. Maybe they have 4 or 5 tables, but they give it to you in a doggy bag so you can just get it and go.

If you're in the neighborhood  (and vegan and cheap) and don't want a blue water taco or a bowl of borscht from Pirohski on 3rd a block away, go here.

Didn't feel like having Subway or Quiznos. I still wanted a sandwich though. I hopped on the #7 bus on 4th & Jackson, got off at 3rd & Columbia, and walked north. I decided to check this place out. I walked in and I was surprised by how big the place was. Then I thought: Ohhhh, this is going to be a $10 lunch today... I failed to recognize the word MARKET in the restaurant name. It had the conveniences like chocolate, candy, chips, drinks, a hot food & salad bar, soups, and sandwiches. It is also kitty corner from the Wells Fargo building which means there are lots of financial employees walking around looking for food during the 12-2 lunch hours.

I got the soup &  1/2 sandwich combo. The barley veggie soup and roast beef sandwich was okay. Too much bread for the sandwich though...a little bit hard. The employees were really nice but I probably won't be back for lunch. At least I know they sell Theo chocolate here though.

Certainly not a New York Deli by any means other than the name. (You can tell by the pumping Lady Gaga) It was alright, although I feel I probably could have gotten a better Turkey Club at Quiznos or somewhere.

Despite that it did have an alright selection of other items, yogurt, drinks, candy etc. So it wasn't all bad.

I work right by this place and had always passed it by at lunch time, assuming it only offered the typical meat-and-cheese deli sandwiches. Until one day when I saw the sign out front listing specials and 'the vegan" was one of them!

It's a delicious and very filling sandwich with field roast, hummus, veggies, and I think some sort of tapenade. It's served on focaccia, making for a very hearty sandwich.

It's really nice to have a good sandwich option around. I tend to go at the peak of lunch-madness and have always found the place to be very efficient and quick!

Holy crap, I really love the sandwiches here! I was here two days in a row and both days had the chicken breast sandwich. Yesterday I had it cold and today hot. Even though I liked the hot sandwich more, the cold was almost equally delicious. For $6.99 you get a sandwich, for $7.99 you get the sandwhich, cookie, and soda. Excellent deal!

Not only do they have great sandwiches here, they also have soups, salads, beer (of course you need beer on your lunch break) and other great stuff. Some day I will try other things here but for now, the chicken sandwich is mine!

I am not really wild about places calling themselves "New York Deli," "New York Pizza," "Texas Barbeque," etc. We are not fooled, we know you are located in Seattle. Silly deli.

I was not particularly impressed by this place.  I met a friend for lunch downtown and this was right near his office building so we gave it a go.

The staff was just mediocre. The sandwich options were nicely varied and you could chose to have it hot or cold.  However, that doesn't make up for the mediocre food at a price which didn't quite correlate.  At least the food came out quickly and they didn't charge me extra for bacon on my sandwich.  Who doesn't love bacon?

For an extra $1.00 you could "upgrade" and get a soda and a cookie which was nice.  The cookie was soft but I think it was made of all the ingredients that didn't go into their other cookies.  It was chocolate chip with coconut and maybe something else in there...

The back is a little market, which I didn't even look at.  If I were desperate or worked near here I'd stop in on occasion but don't go out of your way for this place.

It's been a while since I was there, so I don't remember much, though I do remember the sandwich was spectacular. I really wish I could find a sandwich this good in Toronto.

Boar's Head meats and cheese - check
    D'Arte coffee - check
kitty corner to my office - check
a good beer & wine selection - check

This just opened, and I have to say I am impressed so far.

I picked up a grilled prosciutto panini, which was solid. They also have Indian food by the pound, a good beer &  wine selection, and breakfast & coffee in the morning.

I will be going back soon to try their different sandwiches and breakfast bagels. A another welcome addition to the 3rd ave lunch scene.

I decided on going to this place since I haven't tried it yet.  It's a clean establishment.  And the staff were friendly.  Apparently this place makes sandwiches, they have a salad bar, and a bar with some hot food items.   In the back was the market area of the business.  Not much of a selection, unless you want something to drink.

I looked at the menu and didn't have a big selection sandwiches on there.  But they do have the option of building your own sandwich.  They had a small but decent selection of meats and condiments.  I decided to go with the plain ole reuben sandwich.  It had corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and a light mayo-mustard spread.  All of this was some rye bread.  The sandwich tasted good, but it wasn't anything spectacular.  Nothing of the sandwich stood out for me.

My experience was good here, but not a defining moment in culinary history.  I'd go back for a sandwich, but I can always walk in the opposite direction from where I work and go get a much better sandwich.

I used to frequently go to this joint when working at idx, then office moved away and there was a 1 year hiatus.

Fast forward to present time. If you skip breakfast and go for an early lunch, you'll beat the crowd.

What I love about this place is the quality of the ingredients. Having board head stuff is definitely a plus.

I also like their chicken curry in the self-serve section.

Yes it is a little more pricey ($6.99) but the sandwiches are that much better and worth the extra cost.

Deli/Cafe? You can build a wall just past the counter and have 2 businesses: 1 for the back deli side (small hot and cold buffet, shelved goods, and fridges) and 1 for the front cafe side (meat display, sandwiches, tables, etc.).

So, I guess it's one hole-in-the-wall but on the "corner". The staff seems ok. Although small, the per-pound buffets had nice items and great deals. Some new stuff to me on the shelves. Pretty good place.

Went on a weekend, and I know they serve the workweek crowd. Sandwiches are good and well priced. Everything was fresh. Hubs had a Reuben he really liked. I had the veggie---it had cream cheese and it was super yummy. But they didn't have potato salad. In a deli. Weird...it had just opened, so maybe things are better...
    Nice staff too.

I really like coming here for their breakfast special which basically consists of a breakfast sandwich on an english muffin, and small coffee for $3.50. Had some sandwich at lunch, but was just a typical sandwich. Nothing special on that. Oh, and they are one of the few places open on the weekends.

This place has an amazing vegan sandwich that I eat usually every time I work a double in downtown. I get only a half sandwich, because a full sandwich is pretty big. Delicious option for vegans in downtown.

I walked in here seeking a caffeine and sugar boost after driving back up from Fort Lewis to pick up my coat from the hotel. I ended up picking a Diet Coke over coffee since it was hot out and opted for a peppermint patty sitting on the deli counter. Now, here's the shocker - $1.49 for a 16 oz soda and $2.99 for a damn chocolate. $2.99!?!?! Even the guy at the registered stared in disbelief and I couldn't tell if it was genuine or rehearsed - either way, I needed the low-fat boost and opted for the mint instead of some other chocolate bar. And to kick a man when he's already tired, the chocolate was melted. Damn.

But otherwise, the deli was relatively well stocked and it seemed to be reasonably priced if you ignore the fact that you'd have to pay 10% sales tax on your purchase.

They offer a full deli counter with some cute sandwich options. Supposedly, it's possible to create your own sandwich, but every time I've tried it creates a mega freakout among all except the guy actually making the thing. So I get what I want (blehhh bagel with decent quality stuff on it), but only after explaining it multiple times, to multiple people, and in comparison to the sandwiches on the menu. Okay, I know my order is a little random, but is it really that big of a deal? If it's not easy for your register to charge for individual ingredients, don't offer a build-your-own option! I think I've payed drastically different amounts for the same thing here. And by the time I leave, the entire staff is all abuzz over what happened. Who called the drama llama? I just wanted a bagel sandwich. Jesus Crippety Christ!

After I calm down, however, the food is always edible--verging on tasty. Tuna salad is all dilled up, which was unexpected. Bagels, as I mentioned before, are fluffy and unconscionably bad. (I kinda hate sandwich bread, so I prefer bagel sandwiches if anyone is wondering about my rationale.)

Great drink and snack options, including Blue Sky colas. They have beer and wine, too, for office happy hours. Next time I think I'll grab a six-pack with my lunch to relax after the customer service clusterf* that is sure to occur.

In the financial district of Seattle, lunch options are limited.  They do breakfast, lunch, have hot food and a robust salad bar.  They knock out the sandos to order and do it pretty quick.  Pretty hard to ever walk into the Quizno's or Subway nearby after going here.  Plus the staff is nice and they remember the regulars.  A tad pricey, but you get what you pay for.
They also have a fairly extensive wine selection for a deli/market with some good local finds.

This place is an alternative to Subway that uses the boars head cheeses and other ingredients for the sandwiches.  I haven't been blown away by the customer service.  Today the woman was talking on her cell while making my sandwich.  I think it turned out okay, though the bread was a little bit too "toasted" for me.  Biting into the sandwich was tough without the condiments spilling out of the edges since the bread was so hard.  Better than Subway?  Probably...but, not by as much as I would have liked.

Come for the sandwiches, cookies, and wide assortment of drinks, but avoid the Chinese food! Cold potstickers and orange chicken straight from your nightmares. I bought $6 worth and ate about 99 cents of it. But stick to the deli food and you're golden.

    Dear downtown denizens and employees,

Please continue to frequent the cheap and quick Subway, Quiznos, and Jimmy John's on 3rd Avenue.

While it is true that everything in the NYC Deli is significantly tastier, made from better ingredients, and delivered alongside a wider variety of beverages to select from, if you all begin to enjoy this place it will take me longer to get my lunch.

You see this place isn't nearly as fast as the big chains, (but then again, it doesn't go through me nearly as fast either.) Plus you'll probably just be confused since it's not as streamlined as the chains and yet the service seems genuinely friendly.

If that weren't enough, this place is kinda pricey.

So please for your sake and mine, ignore the 4 stars placed above. If you must come check this place out, then please try food from the deli/buffet which I have yet to try, but looks delicious. That way I can still get my food and eat within my allotted lunch time.

    Thank you.
