here's a review.
i have their 8800 gts 320mb video card and it's SMOKIN'. it has been rated as the best bang for buck card on the market. it gives me great graphics while gaming heavy graphic "everthing is moving" video games for a good price.
to test this card out, i tested it on the much anticipated game "crysis" and unreal tournament III.
now, crysis, is a video card breaker. there's sooooooo much going on in this game, from frogs jumping around, flies, koreans taking a piss or smoking a cig, that any average card will not perform well or at all for this game. btw, the game is amazing. this game has set the bench mark for future gaming companies to reach. i maxxed out the settings (put everything on high) in the game and can only play for about 45-60 minutes with an average 15-20 fps before it crashes. some, not all, high intensity battle scenes brought the frame rate down to 5 and became very choppy. that's pretty good in my book. took my settings down to medium and gaming improved tremendously with slight difference in the graphics. fps improved by 10.
unreal tournament III, my all-time favorite 1st person shooter game, looks amazing with this card. the card peforms sooooo well with this game, i sometimes have to do absolutely nothing for 5-10 minutes so my equilebrium can re-adjust. 3-d evironments can trick the brain sometimes. this card gives me 60 fps on this game !!!
the only thing i don't like about this card is that it tends to generate a lot of heat, which is not a good thing and may fry the card in the summertime. i'm considering buying a better cooling system than what it came with to protect this card for the next couple years when i plan on doing a complete system upgrade.
