Even though it's technically Winter here, I still love getting some cold froyo from here!  They have great flavors and lots of different toppings.  The fruit toppings are fresh and delicious.  I literally get something new each time I go, and I still don't think I've tried all the combinations.  Upshot:  great place; I love it!

I've been coming here back when it was first caleld PURE! hella OG!
I'm not sure why they changed up the name, but whatevers!

-- I'm really particular with my peach & plain tart flavor & Nuyo's is really refreshing! anywhere else, it tastes either a) too sweet or b) too watery.
but Nuyo's peach & tart is PERFECT for my tastebuds! :)

I love how they're always organized (from every captain crunch niblet, to gummy bear!) & there's never little crumbs on top of the counter! :)

Oh! If you're not familiar with a flavor, they give you a little sample cup -- but it gets kind of annoying when I try one, don't like it, then I have to go to them for another little cup. Can't they just give me 2-3 cups at once?!

If you need a quick fix & you're in the area... you should definitely try it here at Nuyo. They also have one of those reward cards (like the ones for Albertsons & Ralphs) if you're a frequent visitor! :)

    Nuyo always hits the spot!

What can I say, it's close to my house, they always have about ten flavors to choose from(always switching them), a wide variety of add-ons such fruit, cookies, granola, cereal, candy and syrup toppings.

Every time I walk in I'm greeted with a smile. I've noticed its always organized, stocked up, clean interior, clean bathroom, the topping bar section is always spotless and stocked up and they're fast to check you out.

I actually like they're Nuyo Reward Card where you can earn points from every transaction. I believe once you reach around 40 or 50 points your eligible for a free Nuyo.

So far, Ive experienced several other frozen yogurt spots and Nuyo remains supreme in my book.

    Nuyo rocks!

My wife loves this place, especially the peanut butter yogurt that they offer. They always seem busy so that tells me they are doing something right! The flavor of the yogurt seems really good as well as all the toppings. Everything is fresh from what I can tell!

My friend took me here and it was like most yogurt places at first: lots of yogurt flavors, tons of toppings.  But after I  prepared my very delicious, unhealthy ( I never add fruit) cup of yogurt and I was about to add some chocolate or caramel syrup I read: CONDENSED MILK on one of the cans.  OH MY GOD...that was the best choice ever!!!  Every bite was so delicious! Condensed Milk plus cookie dough and cheesecake pieces = Waaaaaaaaaaay yummy!  I will most likely return here just cause of the condensed milk because that is what makes this yogurt place a million times better and different than the rest!

Finally, a place that can get that ube flavor right!!! Been here once and got that along with the watermelon and pink lemonade. Wasn't too into the watermelon after a couple spoonfuls, but was happy I got the pink lemonade. Hubbie liked the ube soo much he went back in and got more for himself.

Loved the fact that their yogurt isn't all watered down like at other cheap places... the ube flavor was definately UBE. Not frozen water with a hint-of-ube.

They have a sign for frozen yogurt pies at the register. I dunno about that...it's soo odd though that I had to mention it.

Some years ago, this place was once known as pure.  I thought it was a catchy name.  Well, I'm a supporter of this business because of my friends work here.  I thought I should throw in a good word.

The place is clean to every corner.  When you walk in at first, you notice the colors orange and blue.  Please don't think of Jamba Juice like how I did.

What I like about I like about this place is that have this 'flavor of the month' thing and some of the flavors are really good.  Some of my favorites are pineapple and chocolate cherry.

Yippeeee a clean self serve yogurt spot!

Walked over here after having lunch with a bunch of cool friends.  I saw Pineapple non dairy and thought hmmmm could this taste like a Dole Whip from Disneyland.  I asked the girl for a sample and I was in heaven.

Yum taste exactly like a Dole Whip.  I added some topping, granola and cookie dough.

The place is friendly and clean, nice place to relax after munching on lunch.

After my Sunday fro-yo, I was still craving more.  But I was too lazy to drive to Clairemont Mesa...

Here I was...watching Monday Night Football (GO CHARGERS!!!), and low and behold....I discovered somewhere local!!  I was chatting with my friend, Monica, who turned me on to NUYO!!  I waited for the game's half-time, and "BOLTED" (LOL) to Nuyo!!

I got a small cup with plain and vanilla yogurt, then added my strawberries, kiwi, mango and blueberries.  OMG!!  Scrumdiliocious!!!  What an awesome way to finish-off watching an awesome footbal game, eh?

Well, today (9-24-08), I went back for more fro-yo!  Hahaha...and it was 11AM too!  I gotta say, it was my breakfast...and so worth waiting for!!  And I made it a family affair-- since I went with Mr. B and my kiddo too.  Uh...and I almost went again after dinner...but I promised kiddo that we'd have Nuyo tomorrow instead.  Hmmm....I need a frequent buyer card from this place....or I'm gonna have to buy some stock when they go public!!  I am soooooo HOOKED!!!

Good for all ages! and Delicious, quality ingredients!

And im patiently awaiting the arrival of the Nuyo in Eastlake! It just keeps getting better and better! And closer and CLOSER!

Screw going to Kearny Mesa for Yogurt World, especially when a gallon of gas is more than what I pay for in frozen yogurt!

Go to Nuyo, you'll be happy you did!

Love this spot. It's been my favorite so far in the Frozen Yogurt world.  Why?  Let me compile a list:
    1.  The yogurt never has big ice crystals in it like some other places I've been to.
    2.  The fruit all appears to be actually FRESH, not canned or frozen.  (With maybe the exception of one or two items) But really, who wants frozen thawed blueberries when you can have fresh.  This is where they get lots of extra points.
    3.  Their toppings are always well stocked so I never feel like I'm getting the last strawberry.
    4.  The cheesecake bits.  Need I say more?

I dig, I dig!  Visited home (San Diego) this past weekend and a friend took me here.  I love this place because you make your own yogurt fantasy!  It's a bit expensive at $0.38 an ounce, but just control yourself or you will have a $20 yogurt!

I was impressed because there were topping that were very Asian.  I took my mom here and I was like, "Mom, they have the chewy things in Halo-Halo (coconut gel)!"  Even my mom was hella juiced because there were lychees and mochi.

Here's a tip: do not put gummy bears or worms in your yogurt because they will get hard.  I learned the hard way.

cool, so usually whenever i need a yogurt fix this is the nearest frozen yogurt place. But this particular time i let one of the workers know that there was a hair in one of their coconut gel topping and he fished it out and said " as long as you guys dont say anything" OHHH.... okay cool.

Other than that the place was super clean and spotless, but fishing out a hair floating around in the toppping was DISGUSTING...

so is that what they do? they just pull hairs out of their toppings and leave it for everyone else to eat?

This is one of my favorite fro-yo places.  This and Yogurt Cup in Hillcrest.  The flavors are a good range and the toppings vary from marshmallow to fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries and such).  The yogurt has the pro-biotic stuff you want in yogurt and the calorie content is decent considering its a dessert.  I really enjoy the atmosphere but the only thing I don't like is that it's SUPER loud with flat screens playing music.  But that's just me being a brat.

    Otherwise, try it!

Listen up fro-yo fans - this is THE best spot in San Diego!  They have multiple flavor choices, fresh toppings you can pile to your heart's content, lots of sauces (including Chamoy) and a clean, modern "lounge" atmosphere.  Good thing I don't live in Chula Vista or I would be in here every day :)

I have tried lots of places - in Hillcrest, Clairemont Mesa, La Mesa and La Jolla - still like this one the best.

My second fav would be the one next to Tofu House...I think it is Yogurt World.

I was craving plain tart after driving my sister to her friend's place near Paseo Ladera and saw Nuyo on the way there. I remember it being called Pure for a while, but I never got around to actually visiting it until now. Curious, the boyfriend and I went over to check it out.

Very, very clean atmosphere! The only gripe I had about it was their plain tart and how liquid-like some of their yogurt was. It melted not too long after I got it.

Note to self: not getting plain tart from this particular location.

At least vanilla was decent. A big plus for having cheesecake bits!

    Seriously????

I love this place!!! I wish I could just pile it all on. I like yogurt that tastes like sorbet. Surprisingly not all fro-yo places are the same.

This place has the creamy stuff for those who want to pretend to eat ice cream. But, more importantly, the ice/ fruitiness flavors like taro, mango and the only green tea yogurt that actually tastes good.

It's a little pricey, but good. However there are other places that cost the same and are blah. At least here you say, " ok so I just spent $5, but it's oh so good."
I wish they would open earlier I would eat this stuff for breakfast!!!!

Now. . .If you are a new yogurt place in town, you better make sure it surpasses this place. . .on SO many different levels.

    Location
Not too bad, parking is decent, unless there more people at the other shops in the area.  But it is well worth the traffic getting here.

    People
At least the workers here were friendly (my other review for ****** Cup : just didn't feel inviting).  There was this cute girl that was working there. . .but I'm not going to go there. . .she looked young. . .(But I have been fooled once before!).

    Decor
Now this was WIDE open, and the layout was easier to understand.   The toppings were well laid out, and straight forward.  If you got questions, just ask. . .Like I mentioned. . .A WHOLE lot friendlier here.
The bench seats were comfortable, but some of the other seats didn't look comfortable to me.. Sat in the small blue chars.  It's okay, but can get my back hurting for extended periods of time.  A lot of flat panel TV's playing music videos.  Made the visit more enjoyable.

    Yogurt
The flavors were more wider, and the coffee tasted like coffee.  The mango tasted like mango, and the Vanilla. . .well. . tasted like heaven. . . The Chocolate was my personal fav (even though I have a tendency to make a "Mississippi Mud Pie" or a Smore yogurt).. The toppings looked a whole lot fresher.  There's the small signs that state what flavor they are (Tart, No Sugar Added).  Made my decision hekka easier.

    Overall
People are more friendlier than other establishments I've been to.  It wasn't as intimate as I'd like it to be, but at least it was comfortable.  I actually enjoyed myself in here.  I'd recommend anyone going here, and trying out the mango (So good!).  I'd come back again!

(the loss of 1 star was me not getting enough nerve to talk to the girl. . . .yeah. . my own fault!)

There isn't much to say about this place except it's simple, delicious, and probably a lot healthier in comparison to ice cream.  It was 38 cents an ounce the last time I was there and it ends up being about 5 bucks for a "small" filled to the top.
The one thing I wish they'd have is more choices for frozen yogurt.  There is usually the same 6-8(?) flavors and they change one of the flavors every once in a while.  As for toppings, my favorites so far are the mochi and coconut jelly.  There are a bunch of different little things though.

I know there are better options for frozen yogurt further up north (yog-art, yogurt world, etc), but this is the best it gets in the Chula Vista area.  It's clean, stylish, and enviro-friendly, too!

Nothing but good things from me.

Appearance is very modern, music videos playing on the flat screens, and chairs are trendy, not to mention comfortable.

Customer Service is very friendly, plus the owner is a real nice guy.

The Yogurt is really good, plenty of flavors to try, and the toppings are good and fresh. Tart or Cheesecake is what i usually get.

Personally, i think they're WAAYYYY better than pinkberry.

i went to the grand opening of the Eastlake Nuyo and it was bigger and better! There was a local DJ that spun for a while. i heard they're probably doing that on an occasional basis.

Other than that, it's the best spot for fro-yo in the south bay.

This place is MONK-like.  Not as in living a life of solitude, but as in the OCD detective show.  The dude working today was cleaning & cleaning & when u look around, you notice how neat everything is.  Spoons were all leaning the same way, bowls all had the logo faced the same way, and I did not see one drop of yogurt anywhere AND there were people inside.  When I asked for a spoon, homeboy handed it to me as if he was passing a surgical tool to a brain surgeon.  As busy as he was running the place solo, he was very attentive offering samples, etc.  Honestly, this place was cleaner than Mercy Hospital in CV.  You will not catch H1N1 here for sure.

I love love love TARO/UBE, but I just tried the red velvet today and loved the velvety flava flav.  Creamy and sweet.  Aside the wide array of rotating flavors they offer, I sat and chilled out to some old school videos on the flat screen.  It took me back in the day when I had a spiral perm and guys had the kid n play fade hair.

I guess if you go on the website, you can vote on your favorite flavors.  Also, they had a sign for live DJ that's in hous on some nights. Love to see how that plays out in a SUBURBAN STRIP MALL.  I am still cracking up that they played the Puff Daddy Been Around the World video.  I can not even remember the last time I saw that video.  I think it was when MTV played videos.

One of the worst places for froyo I have tried to date. I had a sample of a few of their flavors and knew I did not like it. Not wanting to look like I just came in to "mooch" their samples, I felt obliged to make a small purchase. The worst $2.31 I ever spent.  In general, Nuyo's yogurt wasn't as creamy as other froyo places and more "icey". The "no sugar added" strawberry/banana tasted wierd. Sweeten with splenda maybe? It was just yucky. The mango one was very sorbet-like more than froyo. They have the basic plain, vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, but not the whole range that I am used to. Where is the taro? cheesecake? Simply stated, Nuyo's froyo is not on par with Yogurtland and Pinkberry.

I agree with another yelp reviewer. Their toppings are very "Asian" which includes tons of mochi ball, lychee, clear jelly stuff and red bean paste.  The usual suspect of fresh fruits, gummie bears, oreo crumbs, chocolate chips, etc were there too.

The price is 38 cents a ounce which is pricey for such poor quality froyo. The decoration is plain and empty looking with an out of place digital photo frame of random froyo customer pictures. Not really feeling the crowd either. Very "family" oriented. I have standards for the froyo shops I patron and Nuyo is below sub par. You are better off getting a tub of Trader Joe's Non fat frozen yogurt than getting your froyo here. If you like the froyo here then I feel sorry for you because you have not truly tasted good froyo or you just have very low standards.

I don't give a lot of one star reviews, but I think this place really deserves it.

As much as I like Nuyo (formerly known as PURE), I'm bumping my review down to 3 stars since this location doesn't offer as many flavors as the Olympic Parkway location. I still gotta give this place credit for introducing Chula Vista to a tasty and inexpensive frozen yogurt place.

    *********************************************

    Previous review (04/03/2008):

Hooray for a "by the ounce" frozen yogurt shop in the South Bay!

If you love Yogurt World, but live down south, then you have to try this place. "Pure" is located in the same strip as Rite Aid on the corner of Telegraph Canyon Road and the 805 freeway. Parking may take some time to find, depending on the time of the day. But hands down, parking here is better than at Yogurt World.

Pure prices froyo the same as in YW, 38 cents an ounce. True, there is less variety of yogurt flavors here than at YW. When you think about it, you won't need a million flavors. The all-time favorites are here: plain tart, green tea tart, strawberry tart, vanilla, and others. The toppings area has as much variety as in YW, but it's kept clean. I loved how a worker was slicing some strawberries as my boyfriend and I were picking our yogurt toppings.

We ended up sharing a cup of yogurt with fruity pebbles, strawberries, cheesecake bits and mochi for only $4.38! When it comes to value, this place beats Golden Spoon, Yogurberry, and other shops that charge by the size or topping. I loved how the fruity pebbles was fresh and crunchy.

The decor is simple and clean, yet elegant. I liked how Pure played 90s music videos. :)

This place will be my one and only froyo spot. :)

I have been here a few times and each time to just satisfy my dessert and yogurt craving.  Hoping that each time, my experience will be better. Unfortunately, it was never better.

The staff are definitely snobby and whenever you ask for tasters, they make you feel like you are a burden.  I watched the staff interact with other people but they are all treated the same.  They don't say hi and half the time they are in the back.   I tried most of their yogurt but was not impressed due to their limited choices and very unoriginal.

I only gave a one star because it is near my neighborhood and its clean. That's it!

I would rather drive somewhere far than come to this place, sorry.  Just very disappointing.

The Yogurt here is very good and all the toppings to choose from make it even better ! The reason I only gave 2 stars was because of the staff. I have not been there in a while for that very same reason but before would go once a week till I got fed up with the rudeness of most staff members. Rude when you ask a question and give you dirty looks if u happen to drop a gummy bear in the wrong place. The last straw was when a girl gave my 5 year old a really dirty look when my daughter put one of the spoons in the wrong bin.. That is why they have a
Job in the first place to help there and attend to customers. Probably will never go back now.

Holy smokes a yogurt place that is very asian centric. Alot of the tastes, WTF Taro. I didnt think it would be good but it was. Worth a try.

This place has usual flavors, and some more exotic. Plus different toppings that you cannot get from your usual yogurt place.

I was disappointed at this specific location. They don't have the same flavors as the other Nuyo close to Otay Ranch mall. They are missing my two favorites: Taro and Pistachio - I guess pistachio is not a great idea right now but come on now-- no Taro!?

The place is clean and they offer you samples as soon as you walk in. People are nice and the toppings are great but I will probably go to the other location instead of here. Too bad, this one's on my way home!

I like Nuyo.  This place is ALWAYS clean and well kept.  They offer a lot of flavors and toppings.  I am not a fan of their fruit yogurt.  Personally, I think they are a bit too sour and tangy.  Their strawberry cheesecake and chocolate milkshake are my favorites.  This place is never busy and they have free wi-fi.

Personally prefer this place over the Eastlake location.
The only plus for the Eastlake location is that they have more flavors.

Anyways, Telegraph: Good service. Eco Friendly. Good music. Clean. Yummy toppings! Not a fan of tart flavors but I usually just get vanilla with fresh fruits + Mochi! Everyone has their own opinions on different flavors so just ask for samples :) Their other flavors aren't bad but it's just harder for me to decipher what toppings i'd want.

To be honest I prefer Yogurtland over Nuyo, but this is great for being 5ish minutes away from my house. 38Cents per oz so however you decide to make your yogurt determines how much comes out of your wallet. Something I always think to myself: spending 3 something (which is the typical amount I end up spending) on a small cup of yogurt with toppings could equal the same thing as buying a gallon of ice cream you could share with family and friends. but that's up to you!

Also, the yogurt melts pretty fast, so don't be surprised if you drive home without eating it and you find your toppings swimming in melted froyo.

Yogurtland has better selection for cheaper price (.30c/oz)
Chula Vista needs better yogurt price!

I've been to Nuyo before in Eastlake, but I will give this one five stars b/c it has the Cake Batter flavor, Which is my favorite!
