While my boba balls weren't exactly to my liking, they still do the trick for a quick and close boba place. What's better than that? The fact that the owner (I'm guessing here) is so friggin' friendly. Apologetic if you even have to wait 2 minutes to get your order! Totally nice and pleasant all the time. I haven't tried much else there, and when I've seen it, it isn't too busy, but I kind of like a place that isn't too busy becuase that means you can have a little more space and a little more sound to yourself.

Fact - The boba here kinda totally kicked ass.
Fact - The guy behind the counter was Asian and very friendly
Fact - The buttered croissant, which he warmed up for me, was huge and perfectly flaky and moist... yes, i said moist.
Fact - The couches look like something out of Mr Roper's apartment in Three's Company, and show the age as well, not so great.
Non-Fact - Everyone should pass this place up and never go inside. Truth is it's totally worth checking out despite the mismatched decor.

This place is right around the corner from my place, I will have to check out their Tuesday Open Mike.
I went in for crepes, and bought gyros instead. Which is a bit odd, really. But still tasty! :)
NuArt is a fine little take-away establishment on 4th and Temple (it's best to walk if you can, the car park is infuriatingly small and difficult to manoever around), with decent coffee and a varied menu. Sandwiches, trendy fro-yo, boba, tea lattes, pho and mmmmmm crepes. Why don't more places sell crepes? They're so yummy.
Today I tried the new gyro, which was a deal at $2.99, and rather delicious too, considering it came from a coffee house. The flatbread was very good, a bit sweet and very fluffy, and the lamb itself was tender and covered in a nice cucumber sauce. It was smothered in it, actually, but I scrapped some off, and it was great. I'd definitely ask for less sauce, if I ever had it again.
I also had a refreshing mango green tea, which just had some fruity pieces floating around giving it a slight tang. Very nice.
Since I live nearby I would go here when I don't feel like cooking or if I'm in need of a fruity smoothie. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it certainly gets the job done. :)

**UPDATE: They no longer sell bahn mi. To top it off, I went in there tonight and the servers were rude. There is no longer a reason to go here.**
I love this place. Their smoothies are great and you can get them with enegry boost, gingko biloba, and other add ins. But the real joy here is their sandwiches. I was introduced to bahn mi (Asian sandwiches) a few months ago on a trip to Lee's Sandwiches and have been in love ever since. Who would have thought carrots, cilantro, and julienned peppers would taste so good on a sandwich. Nuart is the only place I know in Long Beach that has Asian sandwiches. It's a little more expensive than Lee's but the sandwiches are bigger. Love it.
Plus free wi-fi and the staff is just so nice.
