Review from Luan D.

Really helpful folks! I didn't feel stupid for asking lots of questions, as the guys were really understanding. Although I have not bought anything from this shop yet, their customer service was noteworthy. As for prices, there are other shops with better prices, at least on the items I was interested in. So, it may be worth it to shop around a little bit. However, it comes down to not just price but customer service and convenience.
It has been 10 years since I last stepped into a gun shop, and my last experience with a big local shop left me feel like I wasn't rich or manly enough. I appreciate Nova Armament for not treating me like the last shop did. -

I only used Nova as an FFL, so I can't comment on any of their offerings. As an FFL, I can say they are quick, efficient and convenient. Don't like talking to humans? No problem... just fill our their handy transfer web form and they will send all the info your source retailer needs to complete the transaction. The first time I spoke to an actual person was when they called to tell me I could pick up my transfer.
I docked a star because the guy helping me gave me a hard time about getting a copy of my ATF-4473. Were it not required to get the mail-in rebate from Browning, I wouldn't have cared, but as is it woulda cost me $100. It wasn't until another employee told him to do that he gave me a copy. "Normally I wouldn't do it, but Mr XYZ said do it, so I will." The good news is it all worked out in the end. -

This is a great place to do business! Friendly, personable, and knowledgeable staff. Decent selection for a small place, and they can order pretty much anything you might want. And dog-friendly too! Topped off with a discount for being a VCDL member, I had to buy my first AR-15 today. I'll definitely be back!

This place is great.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
None of that fat-ass alpha-male nonsense you encounter at most gun shops.
Selection isn't massive, but it's extensive enough.
Good selections of mags and red-dot type optics.
Only high end stuff though, no "budget" brands.
They specialize in more "tactical" arms than hunting, but you never know whats going to turn up on consignment.
I was having trouble with my 1911 slide stop not engaging, i figured it might be the mag. Without even a second thought one of the employees pulled a brand new Wilson combat out of this packaging to try in my pistol. It worked. I really appreciated that and bought the mag on the spot. -

I have done a few transfers with them. Of the ones I have done two of them have had their paperwork lost or misplaced on the Nova Armament side. It required me to call them up.. specifically ask about the transfer.. status and what was happening. In one case the person on the other end had no fax machine and was an individual. The rules are different in this case and nothing was done (although something should have been done). Anyway, my concern is lack of follow-through. Without me checking nothing would have happened in both cases.
It would be nice if they had some sort of follow-up e-mail they send out when they process your transfer request so you know the status and that they have taken action. As it is now - unless you call - you know nothing until your item arrives... if it arrives. -

Merry Christmas to me. The staff here are very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I went in to purchase a pistol, which thanks to Virginia's gun laws, was easily done. NOVA Armament is below a Beauty Salon, so you might miss it unless you were looking for it. Their prices are more than reasonable. I would definitely recommend going here for purchasing rifles, pistols, optics, and accessories.

Herndon, VA
I've purchased a couple of handguns from them. Both new and on consignment. I've also had one sent to me through them (transfer).
Their prices are reasonable and lower than the competition down south.
Nice folks.
Pretty convenient location - not far from downtown Herndon.
Their sign is not too noticeable. I walked past it a couple of times before I found their door.
After 5 transfers - 1 free. -

I purchased my first pistol G22 from Nova Armament. Just like on their website, the staff is really friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. They will NOT look down or talk down to you because you're new to firearms, they will fully treat you as their customers as it should be. When you walk in here, you will NOT feel like you're in those stereo-type dark, serious feel gun shops. It's really bright, and relaxed. Ask as many questions as you have, TJ will answer all your questions friendly and he will NOT talk down to you even with one question like most other gun shop staff thinking they're the rock stars. Their Glock prices were the LOWEST out of nearly 7 gun shops in both Fairfax and PW County even including an well-known online gun shop. I was lucky enough to take their last G22 for $499. Trust me, none of other gun shops sold it for less than $500. If you're shopping for firearms, especially if you're new to firearms, go ahead and visit Nova Armament. You will enjoy your visit and you will see the difference.

Finally, a gun shop in Herndon, VA. It is a very small shop, but their ammo selection is excellent. They actually HAVE 380acp ball ammo in stock! Love their selections of ARs, and guns. I talk with the Chinese guy, who seems like the owner, and he told me they are planning to do Glock specials in the coming months. Who knows they may just became my new favorite spot to shop for guns. By the way, their transfer fee is $25, sounds like great deal to me.
