Highly recommend hiring Not Just Flowers for your wedding. They did a beautiful job, and even when the toss bouquet wasn't delivered the first time, it ended up being there in time for the toss after one phone call.
With one picture I provided, Lisa created something so beautiful for my bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets. I can't wait until I have some pictures to post to Yelp, they were truly stunning and unique! Just as I envisioned...better than I envisioned.
She is so calm to work with and I had complete trust in her abilities. I would absolutely recommend her for anyone's wedding!! -

Last weekend I stopped in to get some flowers for my house. The selection is a little smaller than at urban flowers, but the woman who was working was so friendly and helpful, that MORE than made up for it. I was hosting a tea party so she made me an adorable bouquet of super girly flowers (hydrangeas and peonies) and it was perfect for the occasion.
Definitely recommend this place! -

LOVE this place. I just happened to walk by it one day on my way to Dolores Park. I had been looking for some kind of wreath for my mom (at her request) that would live for a long time (also realizing, this is the wrong season for long-living wreaths!). With those things in mind, I wandered inside only to be helped out by the friendliest employee ever. He was patient, and didn't treat me like I was a weirdo for my odd request.
He suggested one of their handmade wooden wreaths - individual thin sticks, twisted and woven into a wreath that can have fresh foliage changed in an out of it as you please. Bingo! The wooden wreath all by itself looks gorgeous, but he also wove a few succulents (long-living in hot weather!) into the wreath as well. It was literally perfect. I gave it to my mom, and she loves it - she takes it down to her local farmer's market to get the flowers changed out every so often. I also purchased a beautiful orchid - I couldn't resist! The wreath was $25, which I consider a steal for a re-usable arrangement / high quality decoration. All of the flowers and foliage in the shop were fresh and beautiful. They accept credit cards (another plus). I highly recommend this spot for creative, unique, and beautiful flower arrangements plus friendly service with a smile! -

These guys are awesome! I had a last minute request for a gift certificate and much to my dismay very few, if any florist/flower shops/boutiques in SF offer gift certificates. A few places had them, but were out of stock and didn't offer me any other solutions... the folks at Not Just Flowers even though they were out of stock "made" me a gift certificate! Thanks for being helpful and thinking out of the box guys! Happy 2012!!

We used Not Just Flowers for our wedding and they did an amazing job! The flowers were beautiful and everything was there and ready to go on time. Their prices were also very fair - they got our budget, stuck to it, and decreased the price when our final guest list was lower than expected, so we needed fewer centerpieces.
They did a wedding at our venue before and had really helpful advice on how to make the space look best. We were thrilled with the final result and would highly recommend them! -

Not Just Flowers recently created all of my wedding reception centerpieces and bridal bouquets. I have to write a review because I was so impressed with how it all turned out. Everything looked AMAZING! I received soooo many compliments on my bouquet, including raves from the photographer. (And he's someone that has seen many variations, from a wide range of florists!)
I also really enjoyed working with Lisa, the owner. She recommended flowers in the color scheme I requested and was willing to work within my budget. The other florists that work in her shop were also really nice and pleasant whenever I called or stopped into the store.
This is a great floral shop and will be my go-to for all future flower needs! -

I absolutely LOVED the flowers at my wedding. Lisa exceeded every expectation I had on the floral arrangements and completely transformed our venue into a beautiful, elegant, modern vintage evening. Walking into the room was one of the highlights of my day...besides getting married to the man I love. She made my vision come to life and more! Besides being wow'ed the day of, Lisa met with me several times for 2-3 hours to talk through ideas to ensure I was comfortable and happy with the plan. She was also very fair on pricing and produced such quality arrangements within my budget. She even surprised me and added a few of my favorite "out of season" flowers in my bouquet. Thank you for making my day so spectacular!

Not Just Flowers has been a part of my life since I was in my 20's...I love flowers and I always seem to buy them here for Mother's Day, random acts of kindness, etc...only recently did it all make sense why I was serendipitously coming here my whole life. When my fiancee and I decided to get someone to do our flower arrangements I chimed in "Not Just Flowers"! Bam! They handled it effieciently and friendly...I can't believe how amazing it all came together...thanks again!

Not just flowers has great customer service! Definitely a 5 star in that department. So why the 1 star? I was expected a WOW instead I got a "oh my god I have to buy something else with the flowers to compensate."
I ordered a dozen roses for Valentines day. I spoke with a lady for at least 10 mins and she was amazingly paitent and very informative. I ended up ordered a dozen "surpreme" roses for $75 which were supposed to be between 10-12 inches long. I told her that this was going to my girlfriends work so I told her it definitely needs a WOW factor. She recommended a cylindar vase but she ended up recommending a black vase instead after I inquried about it..
When I got to the shop they could not find my order. It took them about 10 minutes to find it. It wasn't a big deal for me since it was Valentines day and I understand the craziness. When I laid eyes on what I ordered I was blown away but not in a good way. The 12 inch "surpreme roses" I ordered some how transformed to 8 inches. I was expected long stem roses but instead I got half the length I paid for.I I knew I could not deliver the flowers like this so I went out to get balloons because I was ashamed of the flowers that were prepared for me. -

My experience at Not Just Flowers was beyond excellent. I called in an order for a sympathy arrangement with a short turn around time- Gregory walked me through the process making thoughtful suggestions about colors and texture, and even offered suggestions when I struggled with a note to include with the arrangement.
They were able to make the arrangement and deliver it in time so my friend could receive it before she left her house for the day. Much relieved and grateful they were able to make this happen for me. I saw the arrangement later in the week when I visited my friend and it was still in great shape and BEAUTIFUL. Serious creative geniuses work there, and they know flowers.

Service = friendly. Helpful too.
Prices = moderate to expensive. (Depends on what you want.)
Quality = fresh flowers, excellent.
Overall, I was happy with my bridal bouquet of dark orange cymbidium orchids, mini mango callas and deep red dahlias. And they had a lovely leaf wrap on them with gold pins.
I'd come back here for a very special occasion but not on a regular every day household bouquet. -

I was not overly impressed with the service I received when I went in to select a bouquet for my wedding. I was told by the clerk that I couldn't look at any books because there was a previous appointment. You would think there would be more than one book? Additionally, I felt he was losing patience with me because I was having a difficult time selecting flowers. Again, I didn't have access to any pictures to get an idea. I also felt that because I was on a budget, there wasn't a lot of interest helping me.
When I actually received the bouquet and boutonnieres, I felt the work was a little sloppy. The ribbon wrapped around the boutonnieres was coming undone and frayed at the ends. Additionally, my bouquet had quite a few flowers that weren't yet opened and actually looked prettier the next day. There was also this "greenery" on the side of my bouquet that I didn't ask for or really like. Again, I feel that if I was able to look at examples, this problem could have been eliminated.
I realize that flowers are expensive and having a top-notch bouquet requires paying a lot of money. However, I feel for what I paid, there could have been a bit more care.
Looking at the other reviews, I think this could have been an off day for the place. However, I just wish it wouldn't have been my wedding day. -

i received the most beautiful large peonies i have ever seen in my life from this place. they smelled odd as peonies do, but what a sight!
they lasted almost a week and a half. everyday i was in awe of their shape and grandness. spectacular. -

Not Just Flowers did a fantastic job creating floral displays for a bridal shower I was giving. I needed about 10+ flower arrangements to be the center pieces for an outdoor bridal tea shower. Everybody loved them and they looked absolutely fabulous! Many of the guests were requesting to take an arrangement home. There were so many compliments and fulfilled my expectations. I'll be coming back to them for more flower arrangements as I am throwing another outdoor bridal tea shower! Great job Not Just Flowers! You're awesome!

Not Just Flowers is fantastic! I interviewed a ton of florists for my wedding and Lisa stood out from all the rest. I didn't really know what I wanted for the flowers at my wedding, and Lisa was super helpful in pairing our personality and style with flowers. She had great recommendations for awesome color combos to compliment the bridesmaid dresses. Not Just Flowers is very creative!
My bouquet was gorgeous and added so much to my dress. It really acted as great accessory. It was very full and had a ton of texture. The centerpieces were beautiful! At the end of the evening, all of the centerpieces were taken home so our guests could continue to enjoy the flowers.
Lisa was very easy to work and has a very impressive portfolio. She was always professional, prepared, and punctual. What impressed me the most about Lisa was her easy going personality. Her calm demeanor is what I was looking for. Not Just Flowers exceeded all my expectations! -

I hardly know where to begin with how much I love this place!!! I came here on the morning of mothers day with two of my friends to get an arrangement for a mom that really means a lot to all of us. After noticing that we looked like we had no idea what we were doing (very true), one of the staff came over to save us. He asked us about who we wanted the flowers for and he really made an effort to give us the most amazing flower arrangement specifically tailored to our story. Not only was the customer service above and beyond what I ever expected from anywhere, so was the product. These folks will remain in a special place in my heart for a long time.

Amazing service! I called Gregory from my home in Seattle the day before my bff's Dad's funeral service. I expressed my disdain for the usual sappy, morbid funeral arrangements and told him my friend wanted her Dad's service to be uplifting and elegant.
Since I wanted a live plant and not an arrangement he suggested yellow orchids and promised to make them "beautiful and full of presence".
He made the arrangement fit my budget and delivered them on time to the mortuary in SF.
My friend just called and said she was so touched and was blown away by the beauty of the flowers! She said they were raved about by all who attended the service, were being moved to the wake and taken to the graveside service tomorrow as well. Then she said they would be at home on her dining room table going forward!

In the Mission, there's a grocer or liquor store on every corner, lest you have to walk more than a dozen feet without being able to purchase something you could consume from the protective cover of a brown paper bag. It's great. Not the case in the Castro and I think I figured out why. Every store front that could be used to sell Colt 45 or jicima or pinatas is instead bursting with beautiful flowers that flow right out onto the sidewalk. There are flower shops everywhere and not the FTD outpost kind. That said, I have only enjoyed the view and the lovely fragrance as I walk by. Until yesterday.
I had *one of those days* yesterday. It seemed to go on forever and by the end of it I was really irritable. A little piece of news that I shared with the Captain during his drive home. While waiting for him to get home so that we could go to dinner I did not become less irritable. When he finally poked his head in the door I was, well, *not in a good place* so when he came around the corner with an armful of absolutely beautiful flowers I broke down crying. They were perfect. A four foot tall arrangement of winter holly branches, calla lilies, red amaryllis and big green banana leaves that Tony, the floral god and petal pusher at "Not Just Flowers" helped him pick out when he told them I wanted it to be Christmas right now. -

This flower shop puts all of those in my neighborhood to shame. The flower arrangements are gorgeous. Pricey, but worth every penny. The staff is awesome too.
Only in the Castro can you chit chat with your local florist about BDSM and find yourself revealing your safety word. Oh, TMI.....my bad. -

During the Valentine's Day rush, every florist is bound to make a mistake or two. You just always hope that you won't be the one it happens to.
I was the one it happened to.
When my girlfriend got home from work and it became clear that she didn't receive the delivery I had paid for, I was furious. After calling Not Just Flowers, they responded immediately in a way that was incredible.
Andrei (who was incredibly helpful when he helped me pick out the arrangement on the day I placed my order) was at my house within minutes with the original bouquet and an apology bouquet that was stunningly beautiful. He was extremely apologetic and informed me that they would also be refunding my money.
Wow. That is amazing customer service.
Not only is the customer service first class, but they offer an incredible variety of flowers to choose from, and everything is exceptionally fresh as well.
I will never go anywhere else for flowers. -

I just called NJF for a delivery order for someone four blocks away (I'm calling form out of town). Even though emblazoned on their web page was the words, "Free delivery," he said there'd still be a $12 charge. When I mentioned both the free delivery as well as another flower shop in the neighborhood that would deliver for free, he very curtly said "The use them!"
So much for customer service. Too bad I wasn't a bride. Seems like those are the only people leaving good reviews for this place.

So yesterday, I decided to suprise my partner with some flowers. I bought a card nearby at "Does your Mother Know" and filled it out then stopped into "Not Just Flowers" on my way home.
I had exactly $7 change from the card shop so I said, "How about something for seven bucks!" and the gentleman smiled and said, "Sure!"
A few moments later I had a lovely bouquet if irises and lilies wrapped up with some ribbon! He even took my card and placed it nicely within the bouquet (something I wouldn't have even throught of doing!)
I was very impressed by his friendliness and ability to work within my self-impossed budget. It was obvious that he enjoyed what he was doing and it made my experience just wonderful.
Best of all my partner LOVED the flowers.

I got an impromptu bouquet and boutonniere here on Sunday. They have various colors but because I ordered on Sunday and I needed it early Monday morning, I was not able to take advantage of the more beautiful and fresh flowers at the MART since it was closed on Sundays.
Anyways..my bouquet turned out satisfactory but a little lopsided. It was dome shaped but lopsided on the edges. The bouquet itself is small about 8 inches and the ribbons tied on it was a little bit "short".
Overall, I am happy with the color. I'll have to post photos once my photographer gets me the photos

Not Just Flowers has been receiving compliments at my office all day. I called last week and asked for "a simple arrangement with some white flowers, medium sized and stated what I wanted to spend." The arrangement that arrived is above and beyond what I ever expected. OMG.

Today is my husband Tom's birthday. I wanted to get him some flowers.
I went into a flower shop in The Castro and was completely ignored. Disgruntled, I went up the street to where I should have gone in the first place: Not Just Flowers.
Andrei greeted me warmly and asked what I was looking for. I had had the chance to look around for a minute when I walked in, as Andrei finished with the customer before me. I had been eying this gorgeous bunch of giant, fiery yellow/red dahlias. Needing assistance (note: being gay doesn't automatically make one [me] a brilliant arranger of flowers), he suggested we pair them with a bunch of beautiful cornflower blue hydrangeas. Stunning!
Andrei crafted a brilliant arrangement, finishing the bunch with variegated boxwood and other greenery.
I brought the arrangement home to Tom who couldn't be more thrilled to receive such a gorgeous gift (the mini cupcakes from DeLessio on Market St. didn't hurt either).
Andrei and his wife Lisa do beautiful work and I couldn't be more happy to give then 5 stars. You should have seen the bouquets and other arrangements they were preparing for 2 - count them, TWO - weddings today! Again, stunning.
If you're looking for someone to do your wedding, look no further. If you want something beautiful for that beautiful someone or just a Gerber daisy for your breast pocket, you've come to the right place. -

Lisa is amazing and this shop is amazing!
I hired Not Just Flowers to do the floral decor for my Jan 24, 2009 wedding. Lisa helped me get the look that I wanted and stayed within my budget. I was able to have the wedding of my dreams because of all their great advice (Lisa gave me great tips on how to decorate the flower girls hair, color scheme, etc.) . Also, she was very helpful in telling me what I should spend $ on, and what was superfluous. I appreciate her honesty, professionalism, and all her support during the wedding planning stage. I was planning my SF wedding from Washington DC and I was surprised by how attentive Lisa and the staff were to all my inquiries via phone or email. You guys are amazing! Hello San Francisco and the CASTRO,
"Not Just Flowers" is FANTASTIC!!! I needed some quick arrangements for a couple of my offices so I gave them a shout. Within the time I called and drove over to their store, the arrangements were ready to GO!! I ordered several Orchids, and I was so blown away with how fresh and beautiful they were put together. All of my work mates asked where I purchased them and said they cannot wait to visit their store in the Castro. One of my co-workers actually asked me if the flower was real or a fake, because it is SO GORGEOUS and perfect!!
I understand the store is owned by a husband and wife team, Andre and Lisa, they are both so lovely, kind and "spot on" when you need a beautiful arrangement.
NOT JUST FLOWERS will be my florist for LIFE!! When I get married they will definitely being doing our flowers!!
You must check them out for yourself . The ONLY florist I will use in San Francisco - EVER....

BEST FLORISTS IN SF!!!!!!! I love this place and everyone who works there.
If you want to bring half a magnolia tree to a dinner party this is where you'll find it! Incredible stuff, perfectly, elegantly, minimally arranged.
We buy orchids for our business from these beautiful folks and are always happy. I personally buy all my flowery gifts from here as well.
Walking through the door is like a mini-vacation in Wonderland. -

I am bitch when it comes to flowers!
Can I just tell you how amazing the flowers sitting on my desk are? They are full of Dahlia and Lilies and to round it out autumn maple leaves (how appropriate since some wonderful man from Canada sent them to me). I am so happy today. I am so hard to please when it comes to flowers and if this bunch put a smile on my face I guarantee you will smile too! -

Lisa designed my bridal bouquet, toss bouquet, BM flowers, GM boutonnieres, family corsages, and my birdcage gift holder. Everything we received the morning of the wedding was cute, fun, and elegant. Just as we had requested! Lisa was on top of all of our details the whole process and really exceeded my expectations. The flowers were within budget and very affordable. I couldn't be happier with the results!!

Not Just Flowers blew me away last Saturday with the drop-dead gorgeous, modern, exuberant arrangements they put together for our wedding. Somehow, Lisa translated my stream of contradictory adjectives into a coherent vision and created absolute floral magic!
All of our guests commented on the flowers, from the diego rivera-inspired calla bouquet, understated and wrapped with wire, to the stunning altar arrangements and the playful centerpieces. I may be biased, but I think they blew every other wedding flowers I've ever seen out of the water, and our budget was TINY. If you're planning a Bay Area wedding and want something unusual, something gorgeous, and something that will look like you splurged, hire these people. They will knock your socks off! -

I'm not going to lie. My usual go-to florist is Church St. Flowers. I didn't realized they were closed on Sundays, so I stopped by Not Just Flowers to pick up a bouquet for a graduation. I've passed by this place plenty of times and have always awed at the flowers while I stood waiting for friends to arrive at weekday happy hours in the castro. Plus, they have a glowing five star review on yelp! Thanks, handy dandy iphone app.
Anyway, I don't buy flowers much, but this is how it's always been for me. This formula has worked great elsewhere.
1) Tell florist what the bouquet is for. (birthday, graduation, etc.)
2) Tell florist who you're giving it to. (girlfriend, friend, sister, mother, etc.)
3) Tell them what you want and/or don't want. (roses//fun colors/springtime flowers, etc.)
4) Name your price range. (Not over $XX; around $XX-$XX, etc.)
5) Florist magically arranges a beautiful bouquet. More details given if necessary.
5a) Florist may ask if you like how the bouquet is progressing.
5b) You say, "i love it so far" or "...maybe not blooming artichoke."
6) Pay and leave.
So it was Sunday morning. My friends and I were still in our Saturday night clothes and may/may not reek of alcohol from the pre-graduation celebration. Despite our appearance and our scent, we were courteous and coherent.
Here's how it went (correspondingly to the steps above):
1) This bouquet is for a graduation.
2) This is for our male friend graduating from dental school.
3) Bright and flashy; attention-grabbing; looks good in pictures.
4) Around $40.
5) .
5) ...
5) ... ....
MAGICAL STEP #5 NEVER HAPPENED. It was replaced with PEONIES, PEONIES, PEONIES. We're okay with peonies. I just don't want a bouquet of ALL peonies. When I asked if they can be part of an overall arrangement (meaning "I want more flowers and I want more flowers other than peonies). The florist dude tells me he can add more peonies and some green leaves to it. No...that's not what I meant. And i'm too tired on this Sunday morning to keep explaining to the dude what it is that I want. Florist dude is getting impatient and called us indecisive. Then he finally came to the realization that maybe we just weren't all that fond of the peonies idea. He has offered no other options for us even up to this point.
I've had enough and decided to take matters into my own hands. I ARRANGED MY OWN BOUQUET. And it was beautiful, no thanks to florist guy working on that fateful Sunday morning. In the end, we did add some peonies in our bunch to stroke his ego...though we could have probably done without.
6) Pay and leave. And I couldn't get out of there any sooner.
I have no doubts that they do great things with flowers from the photos here and from seeing all the pretty flowers whenever I walk down 18th. I am just disappointed that I hadn't receive the same service of such high caliber from this one employee as some of the other yelpers have experienced here at Not Just Flowers. -

The owner of this place is very nice, however the service has really took bad turn. You walk in there texting and wont look up till there done or on the phone, you walk buy and most the time besides the owners they dont smile nor say hello.
Not what it used to be and for the price they really need to get it back we wont go in there just because of staff and flowers dont seem to last as long as other places for some reason. -

These guys have the most refreshing style...they put a twist on the ordinary flower arrangment.

This is the BEST flower shop ever! It is a flower boutique with gorgeous and stylish presentation. I have never seen so many beautiful, exotic, and perfectly arranged flowers in any other flower shops. Their flower selection is impeccable, quality is amazing, and the price is very reasonable. I shop flowers here all the time because these unique flowers always add characters in my home and make the whole space much prettier. People who work in this store are very friendly and professional. They can always pick the right flowers for me. If you are looking for flowers for decoration or special occasion, this is the place to go.
