I think we can all agree that the Buffalo tofu wings are incredible. That aside, this place has all the class and appeal of an upscale hoity-toity (sp?) joint, but with none of the attendant snobbery. This tattooed and under-dressed patron and his far more presentable girlfriend were quickly seated and served on a busy Saturday night by a very friendly and attentive staff. Our waiter, a kid home from college, was incredibly friendly, fun, efficient and knowledgable, a lovely surprise to someone who winces at the idea of being waited on by anyone under the age of 22.
Food was great, if a little pricey, but what the hell do you expect from a place where everyone on staff wear is wearing a tie?(I think they were all wearing ties. Don't quote me on that.) Actually, come to think of it, the prices are pretty damn reasonable for the ambience and quality. This place is great. Making a bee line next time I get back upstate. Definitely.
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. They have a great Vegan menu with various dishes and flavors.
Service is great, sit out on the porch for a nice evening dinner.
Northern Spy's lovely garden is such a relaxing way to end a day of hiking. The dishes overall are healthful and light and the service is casual but attentive. And the fresh baked herbed bread comes out piping hot from the oven. I'm not a bread fan, but theirs is addictive!
Overall, a lovely way to spend a casual night out in the "country".
Decent Food , nothing great, but great atmosphere. WHen I drive up for the weekend from the city, it is a must to sit outside and enjoy a cold beer and a pulled pork sandwich.
MOst other entrees are not that great . Most entrees we tried were overcooked and very bland. They do have a great beer selection .
Service is also excellent. The owner and his son are very nice people.
We stumbled across this place randomly while driving through the catskills and really enjoyed it. I'm saying this having been spoiled by access to the NY City metro area but the great beer selection and rather impressive meals definitely won me over. Service was also really great the night I was there. If I could, 3.5 stars would be more accurate.
The tofu wings are the only things worth eating, but everyother item on the menu is up to par. it's a small little cafe but nice.
