History

Established in 1983.

Initially started in the early 1950's, Northend Rental was then located on Leary Way in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle and was part of the AH Cox Rental Machinery Company. In 1983, Northend Rental was bought out by Dan Green, who had spent the previous 15 years as a factory sales rep for Greenlee Tool Co, producers of specialty equipment for electrical contractors. While with Greenlee, Dan noticed the lack of availability of the Greenlee-type equipment for rent. Once he took over Northend Rental, Dan started adding the electrical contracting equipment to the rental fleet. as well as offering custom pipe bending and threading services. In 1989, Northend acquired a Lynnwood location, which operated concurrently with Ballard for 5 years. Unfortunately, an economic down-turn forced Dan to close the Ballard branch and operate solely out of the Lynnwood location. Northend Rental has now been passed down to Dan's sons, Dan Jr and Robert, who continue to operate the company today.

Meet the Manager

Dan G.
Dan G.
Manager

Dan Green Jr is the oldest son of Dan Green Sr. He has worked for Northend Rental full time since 1983, with the exception of a few years for college. He has basically worked in every position at Northend from sweeping the floors to repairing equipment to bending/threading pipe to bookkeeping and ultimately into the general manager position. (...still ends up doing many of the other jobs anyway - welcome to small business!) Dan is lucky enough to be able to bring his 3 dogs - brittanys - to work everyday. They always let us know if someone has come into the office if we are working elsewhere! Dan is also lucky to be able to work with his wife, Jennifer, who has taken over the bookkeeping job.
