I've been seeing Dr. Markos for several months now. What a tremendous difference she has made! I've seen a lot of different chiropractors and her style is very unique and effective. I feel a great sense of relief that I've finally found 'the one'. She does extremity adjustments too, which just make so much sense when you think about it. All these years of only having my neck and back adjusted, when I'm standing on my feet all day! I also enjoy the noisy table, it's rather relaxing. Dr. Markos is incredibly skilled and always seems to know exactly what's bothering me, even if I didn't realize it. The receptionist, Susie, is also wonderful and so sweet. She is always clear about billing, insurance, etc., and everything is very straightforward. I've never felt rushed through any of my visits, and I really appreciate that. Great place!

My dad suggested I see his chiropractor when my neck was stiff with little ability to move it. This was over a year ago. After one appointment I felt back to normal.
So, now time has gone by. I ended up going back because my hip would freeze up and lock causing me to screech a little in pain (mind you, I'm in my mid-20s). Took more than one appointment and she reminded me that I need to stay on schedule, or at least come back for follow ups occasionally. Now I'm commited, plus I love the feeling of being adjusted. She can relieve pressure that I wasn't even aware I had!
Also, to newbies who are visiting her, the loud noise of her equipment can be a little off-putting to someone who doesn't know what it is, but dispite the annoying loud noise, it's SO helpful. Kinda relaxing when it's wiggling ya up and down if you can get into the right frame of mind. -

For those of you who believe in chiropractic but got turned off to it because you went to a chiropractor who didn't help you (like me), I urge you to see Dr. Markos. She is the real deal! I have been seeing Dr. Markos for 10 months for sacroilliac joint pain and she has made such a tremendous difference for me in that time.
She takes time to really understand what is going on in your body and she checks in with you each time you see her (unlike the other chiros I have been to). She then uses that information to customize her treatments. Yes, she uses a "noisy table" for her treatments, but I believe that table, coupled with her extraordinary sensitivity to what is going on in your body, is what makes her so special and so effective.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Markos. She has made a huge difference in my life and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. -

Around 3 years ago I had an inguinal hernia operation. The operation was successful but afterward I noticed a sharp pain in my crotch area whenever I walked. It got progressively worse to where it felt like an electric shock running down my right leg. The surgeon said he might have to operate again and remove the entire nerve running down my leg. Time for a second opinion! The massage therapist I went to referred me to Cheri (Dr. Markos) who examined me and said that if the nerve was removed I'd still have the same problem. She explained that during the operation, I must have been in an awkward position and things got shifted out of alignment. After about 6 visits, the pain was gone! Talk about a miracle worker. Even the surgeon couldn't believe it :) I forgot all of Cheri's impressive credentials but it goes without saying, she's a chiropractor's chiropractor. I'm damn fortunate to have found her.

About three weeks ago I hurt my back playing table tennis. I didn't listen to my body and kept playing for a few days, and finally the next Monday, my back was hurting so bad I could barely get off my bed! I felt intense pain when I walked and sat down, so I decided I needed to see a chiropractor for the first time in my life. Thanks to the internet and raving reviews from citysearch, I found North City Chiropractor Health.
During the first visit, Dr. Markos patiently listened to all my concerns and evaluated my condition. She explained each adjustment to me before making it to make me feel comfortable, and also explained to me what was causing the pain in my back, something I really appreciated. After the first adjustment, my back pain didn't improve much. Two days later, after my second adjustment, my back pain dramatically improved! I could hardly believe it!! In fact, I felt so good afterward, that I played table tennis for 2-3 hours each day for the next couple of days, without pain! After two more visits the following week, the back pain had mostly disappeared. During the fourth visit, I told Dr. Markos that I felt a pinching pain right below my chest after my table tennis lesson the night before. She realized what the problem was, and made an adjustment. I didn't immediately feel the pain relieved, but about 20 minutes later, the chest pain was gone!
I highly recommend Dr. Markos to anyone in pain! Susie the receptionist is very friendly and helpful also! -

I went here a few times for neck pain. Dr. Markos treated me on this noisy table that made a loud clunk every time she pushed down on my body. This table makes you think your body is getting great treatment. I think it's just psychological! I didn't think the treatments did anything but she asked me if I felt better about every five minutes. She wanted to feel good about fixing me and I think she truly wanted me to feel better. This therapy just didn't do it for me though.
