New York Steak and Eggs $7.99 available 24 hours a day/7days a week...

I grew up going to Norm's.  My parents used to take us for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  I started off ordering from the kids menu and was excited when I was able to order off the grown ups menu.  But to be honest who really looks at the menu when they go to Norm's?  Well at least I don't... the menu I look at is the one thats in the storefront windows.  Their specials are either on a big sign posted in the windows or painted on the windows.

They have a whole variety of american style dishes.  From eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes in the morning.  To a nice BLT sandwich in the afternoon.  To a nice 3 course steak meal or spaghetti for dinner.  Those are just a few items from their well rounded menu.  And to top it off, prices are low and the plates are big.

However don't expect too much coming into this restaurant.  Its a family restaurant for sure.  So expect a young kid talking loud next to you or possibly a baby crying.  Don't expect high class customer service waiting on you.  But its a comfortable restaurant to have a nice affordable meal.

When my family comes here to visit me in LA area, they stay at a hotel in Van Nuys. They usually drive up here so they arrive at Van Nuys LATE and the only place that's open AND great is Norm's. But that's not the only reason why I'm giving it 5 stars, but the fact that it's 24hrs is certainly a PLUS! For the price (and the prices are cheap)  the food is good and filling. Don't expect class steak-house style type of food or environment because this place is more like casual family-style dinners so it can get loud. Every time I come here there's always alot of people but we are still able to get seats right away. With all the tables to serve our servers have always been very attentive and SUPER nice. I would compare Norm's to Ihop or Dennys, but unlike Ihop or Denny's, you don't feel that corporate-ness of the restaurant so it feels more homely, like the food is cooked with love.

I honestly don't know why people would give this place less than 4 stars UNLESS they were expecting a quiet steak-house style restaurant experience, it's a DINER for geez sakes!

I tried almost everything on there menu and love this place. My personal favorite is the avacado burger and the club sandwich.

Best part is that there open 24/7.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I had warm fuzzy memories of going here with my Dad as a child and thought it was a greasy spoon. This place is an old-fashioned coffee shop. If you are craving some comfort food look no further. The meat loaf was just o.k. but it came with mammoth portions and soup AND salad. The pancakes are good and everything was hot. My husband had steak and eggs and loved it. Coffee is tasty. The service is quick and efficient.

I'm so sad that I had to log on to write such a shitty review :(

That being said I know when I walked in the door I wasn't going to a 5 star restaurant, so my expectations were quite low already.

We walk in 11 pm Sunday night, and the place is packed. We grab a booth and browse the standard diner menu.

I ended up getting a sirloin steak and shrimp dinner with an iced tea, and my friend got a hamburger.

let's start with the tea. Holy crap it was literally shit in a cup. No amount if sugar could cancel out the disgusting bitter gross taste. Yuck.

Then came soup time, I was told there was only gumbo, I figured well sure why not let's give it a go. I truly believe this soup would've been a bit on the yummy side if it was COLD! Cold soup? Ew wtf. The texture of the soup mixed with the temp. Made it taste like I was eating a savory jello with rice. Gross. So I tossed that aside and hoped for something better.

I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me just wrap it up so you'll actually read this thing.

My steak was completely undercooked it was so rare, as was the burger. The waitress did offer me another steak, but at that point I was completely disgusted.

The fries were grotesque. So much oil you could feel it exploding into your mouth as you chewed. As a fellow yelper said, who fucks up fries? Norm's does. That's who.

The only edible thing was the salad cuz its basically lettuce with dressing.

Oh and here's the kicker. They charged my friend's credit card twice.

Apparently this is normal for the weekends because they happen to charge you twice and the money should be back in 2 days. Wait. What?! Confused? Ya me too.  Not cool the food was shit, it smelled like feet, and now we have to wait to get the money back? So logical.

All I can say now is, please do not go here, and if you do PAY CASH!

.... Down the street from my house... All I knew about it , was what I saw  in the commercials...
    N O R M S!

    What can I say?
Did I care to eat there? Or eat , in general? At 2 a.m. Not so much. I was just happy to be there with good people!

A group of us was OUT OF THIS WORLD at 2 a.m. It turns out Norm's is out of this world, as well. We walked into the twilight zone!

The place was packed with people. One side of the restaurant was filled with young people who just got back from  clubbing and the other half consisted of much much older people who were staring down every one of us as we walked by them. Men dressed as women.. Women dressed as strippers, people who looked like they're about to be on The Biggest Loser, and the list goes on.

I wonder what they had to say about us?

The waiter looked like he traveled to us from the 50's. He sounded like he could be on I Love Lucy. A very nice man, very friendly, nonetheless.

I tried a little piece of what everyone else was having, just to see what the whole rave was about.

    Strawberry milkshake- check (yum)
Seasoned french fries.. I mean freedom fries- check (yum)
A small piece of steak - check (yum, yum)
Waffles with fresh Strawberries and syrup- check (yum, yum)

It's December 25th. Shit just ain't open on the ho ho ho-iest holiday of the year. Every place except Norm's. I mean, they have to live up to their slogan of "We Never Close." Great for everyone with nothing better to do (e.g., us), but it was sort of sad to watch their team of overworked servers and cooks going mad fulfilling orders of low-quality steak and breakfast staples.

Like half of the patrons, I was there hanging out with friends and catching up. Oh, and getting brinner. Because eggs and bacon weren't just meant to fuel you through the morning!

Strawberry Milkshake: small serving compared to some other places but definitely rich with calories. However, it tasted artificial despite there being actual strawberries in it. Lame. I realized at that moment just how spoiled I have been by Slater's and their maple bacon milkshakes.

Garlic Parmesan Fries: the flavor was there--well-seasoned with lots of garlic and parmesan. However, the fries were so inundated with oil that I couldn't stomach more than a few. How can you fuck up fries this badly?

Lumberjack Breakfast: 3 eggs, 3 bacon strips, 3 sausages, 3 hotcakes, and hash browns. We got our pertaters loaded with bacon and cheese for an extra dollar and some change. Eggs were sunny side up, not great quality, nothing to write home about. The sausages were disappointing sticks of "meat." The hotcakes were decent, much better than Denny's in that they were fluffy, soft on the inside, and had a crispy rim. The hash browns were... hash browns. Great with the bacon, which was thick cut and by far the best part of the meal.

Service was slow, but that's totally understandable considering what day it was. As far as food quality went, this was miles ahead of Denny's. Then again, Denny's is the bottom of the barrel as far as breakfast is concerned.

You don't really come to Norm's for good food (if you do, then you may want to expand your taste buds); you come for a casual place to sit and a bite to munch on. 2 stars for fulfilling that duty.

Great price for good food the only reason I gave 3 stars is the fact that the quality of the steaks and some ingredients are poor. Well I guess if your paying $9.99 for steak and shrimp it's expected. Otherwise good bang for your buck.

Ok so the food here is disgusting! Think of a dirty, nasty Dennys with what seems like microwaved food.  I came here with some friends once and a friend of mine had a dirty ass fork with what looked like dried up cake frosting on it... You would think they would notice it when setting the silverware.  Overall this place is nasty and the food is even worse! I wouldn't go here again even if someone else was treating!

A friend was working around the corner so we stopped here for a late dinner.  The portions are huge for the money that you spend but the quality is just average.

This particular night, our service was less than average.  Perhaps it's because Carlos wasn't our waiter.  I don't remember who our waitress was, but she started out somewhat strong and ended quite weak.  Not sure if it was because we were a rough crowd or if Billy scared the shit out of her when he asked her what time she got off work...but either way, she barely came back around.  Now that I think about it, maybe it was him....never saw her again after he held the imaginary phone to his ear and mouthed "call me" to her as she was walking by our table.

So, yeah, you get what you pay for at this place....and if you sit with us, then you get a little creeped out too.

Okay, so going into it was apprehensive. The sat us down and walked away quickly and the table was still wet, not damp, wet from being wiped down. I work in food servise so i get the the cleaning but the table was not damp. The waiter then preceded to grabbed a napkin and scrub the table a little while we were to order. The waiter while nice invaded personal space a little (i have an issue with personal space and when you lean your head very close to the table I'm a little put off) but also grabbed a quick order and then shot off. The scrabbled eggs were over cooked for me and the french toast I can affirmatively say that I have made better.

Let me qualify this with exactly why I go here. Because my friend likes to eat breakfast. I find the place a mostly disappointing food adventure. Except for the freak show of "strange brew" people, I find the joint bothersome. Mexican Church people and their wild, sugar-enraged, monster children racing around the place screaming is another turn-off. And I'm damn sure tired of the pesky guy lingering just outside the door with a cheap cigarette dangling from his lips, reeking of booze, dripping insincerity, and begging money from me. When I ignored him this time, he responded with this:  "Merry Christmas, A- Hole!" Get rid of him already.

This time I ordered a turkey club. $8.99. I usually get breakfast because that's all they seem to ever get half-right, and at least the eggs-over-easy and pancakes are edible and under $6. We were five minutes past the $5.99 breakfast special,. We waited 10 minutes to get seated before we were told to seat ourselves. This was a first, and this raised the price of breakfast about $2.50. The Latino waitress sure wasn't giving any Gringo's a break-- "comprende, amigos." Breakfast  is now full price, sorry. However, it was perfectly OK for a lady of color sitting across from us to eat a Carl's Jr. burger-- yes, openly eating food from another restaurant while utilizing a Norm's table. Granted, she was drinking Norm's orange juice-- but really? At least she wasn't painting a Picasso. No, really-- the last time I was here, a guy was actually at a table oil painting a picture. I am not kidding!  Total Twilight Zone.

Ordered a turkey club with fries. My friend ordered liver and onions? WTF? Where is breakfast, and why am I here?

    Wait...wait...wait....

Now I understand why they call them waitresses.

I looked up at "The "Pass" and spied my food-- and my friend's food-- sitting under the "not-so-hot" serving lights. I marked the time. Ten minutes passed. I also now  understand why they call that area "The "Pass." Our waitress passed by our food at least four times. She ignored our food almost as much as she ignored us.

I put my Iced Tea out for a refill and it took the entire meal before another waitress-- our waitresses replacement-- refilled it. In fact, when our first waitress brought our bill, she actually lifted my empty glass and put the bill under it. At this point, I prayed for a random Vato drive-by. I figured I could duck under the table real quick to avoid bullets and flying glass. My friend was on her own, And screw the anti-waitress!

The manager-- another Latino-- noticed our discontent, but she never approached us. She did go look at our food and look at the order ticket. She then came back and stood around for a good eight minutes surveying her kingdom. Finally, she spoke with our waitress, who went and looked at the food and then immediately brought my plate to the table. Twenty minutes in "The Pass." Norm's should call it purgatory.

I touched my fries. They were cold. I told the anti-waitress to take them away and bring me some hot fires as these had been sitting up there for a good fifteen minutes and were morgue cold. She retorted they just made them. I called B.S. and then informed her how many times she had actually walked past our food. She claimed my friend's food  wasn't ready, and that's why she waited. Right, blame it on the liver and onions. I again called B.S. pointing to my friend's orphaned food sitting abandoned in purgatory. The waitress promptly retrieved my friend's food. About eight minutes later she later brought me a new plate of  grease-soggy fries-- half the amount on my original plate-- but hot-- inedible, but hot.

The anti-waitress disappeared never to be seen again. I was hoping the Vato's kidnapped her.

The bottom line-- the waitress was getting off work, and she basically quit a half-hour before she clocked out, and she could care less if a couple of hungry Gringo's were happy or not because she knew she was not getting the tip-- her replacement was. She took food cooked perfectly and ruined it. The manager is even worse. The manager should have delivered our food as soon as she noticed we were waiting and our food was ready.

But who cares? They have freeloaders, begging bums, and struggling artists to fill the void where customers once were.

I detest Norm's service, and I really detest lousy waitresses.

Next time my friend better sign a written agreement that she's getting breakfast at Norm's, or I'm going to The Pantry for liver and onions.

After avoiding this location for the past 2  years due to bad service and food I've been back to this Norm's twice recently. Breakfast was actually very good...four deuces and bbb were served hot, fast and friendly. The cafe is cleaned up with a line of cooks and some hard working waitresses on the floor.I'm glad that Norms has put some $$ into this location and it shows..I'll be back.

The first time we came, we weren't that satisfied with the food but we decided to give it another shot. We come here for late night dinners.  My friends and I were constant clients of Denny's but once we started coming to Norm's we stopped going to Denny's.  I have only tried their burgers and I must say they are pretty good.  Their service is good, no complaints there.  We tend to stay hours talking and talking and thankfully to this date they haven't kicked us out.

The food was delicious and the prices are beyond reasonable.

The service was slow but they would come around and provide refills and check in on you.

It's a great corner location with plenty of parking. So if you are in the mood for some cheap and yummy diner food, may I suggest Norm's?

    Soo....
How shall I review a diner.
By the food quality? The service? The ambiance?
Or is an American diner is all about the experience?

Mmm, maybe all the above??? :/

It was Sunday late morning, brunch time!!
I was really craving More Than Waffles to be honest, but there was an hour wait. - F That!
My friend suggested this place and I was too hungry to search Yelp with the slowest BB in the world.... So off we went.

First observation/ The place has the largest car park I've ever seen for that kindda place/ size.

Walked in and the place was packed with diners. The lady said that there shoudl be about a 20 minutes wait though if we see a spot at the "bar" area than we can just go for it.  - Like that!!

Ohh observation 2/ The whole building and "decor" looks like it hasn't been updated since it's first opened. Haven't decided if I care about that really. As long as it's clan, innit...

We found a place at the "bar" area within 10 minutes and the nicest lady quickly attended with a massive smile!
"How may I help you? Coffee? Juice? Ice tea??"
    Aww bless, me think....

Coffee quickly arrived and I ordered my french toast with a fruit bowl. My mate had something with bacon... ( How original )

Food/ Meh I Can do better.
    Did I expect anything different?
    Nope!
Did I shove my face and finished the massive meal infront of me??
    Yepp!! Hell yeearr....
( My mate seemed to enjoy his unkosher Bfest. )

The fruit bowl consisted of 3 slices of melon. Honest. Not sure about that one.

The two Ladies, who helped us were super nice and my mate and I managed to really goof around and have a proper laugh at this place. Seriously, so much fun at brunch time! And we also managed to have a lil jokey debate with the lady so that was really nice. (They totally backed me up "against" mymate, so cheerio for that ladies!)

I started this review thinking, " 2 stars....".. But the more I think about it the more I think that if you're having Bfest, Brunch and or diner at an American  Diner and especially at this diner, I don't think that the quality of food really counts.
I don't think that the decor counts..

Maybe it's all about 'it is what it is" and if the service is good and you paid under $20 and strolled out completely stuffed ($18 for 2 meals, some melon and endless coffee!!) AND you had laughs with your mates and the waitress than..... what else do you need???

Well let me start of by saying that i have been to this place more than a few times and the only thing i love about this place is their Gumbo soup and the fact that they have Pepsi.
The cooks can never get anything right, no matter what i order, if i order an omelet or of i order a steak, and you think it's not that hard right.
All the servers with the exception of two Nancy and Teresa are horrible if those two girls are not there i would rather not eat there.
My first complaint is that when i order FRESH pancakes, they always pop them in the microwave... why? stop it... if i wanted microwaved pancakes i would go to Albertsons buy me a pack of frozen pancakes and just eat at home. The servers there never look like they are happy to be working there, I think they need better people skills.

*If you want great service ask for Nancy or Teresa these girls always greet you with a warm smile and they give excellent service

I want to love this place because I love diners and this place has a gigantic parking lot and it's open 24 hours. The wait staff is super friendly and the prices are ridiculously reasonable but the food is HORRIBLE. I have picked the worst times to go probably - lunchtime - with the same friend a few times now but today when I got coffee in not one, but two different cups smeared with lipstick, I wanted to leave. It just all felt...grubby. And the coffee was just like drinking hot, brown water.
The gumbo was just okay. It must have been on the stove for eons because it arrived with a great big blob of something bouncing on the surface that turned out to be congealed rice. Didn't anyone in the kitchen notice it? I mean it's a fairly flat bowl of soup. I thought it was a scrunched-up napkin at first.
The sandwiches are subpar. Scant filings and the toast was dry.
My elderly friend asked for fruit instead of the fries and got three whopping chunks of cantaloupe. For real, Norm's? With the current health scare in California with tainted cantaloupe, couldn't you do better than that?
My friend asked for her fruit to be replaced with fries. The waitress looked harried but was very kind. She grabbed a knife from the table and stabbed the slices with them, dumping them onto a plate... I think she wanted to slap us with those slices of melon to be honest...
The French fries were actually really good. I love the booths and the staff tries hard. It does feel awfully like I stepped into a living, breathing game of "Diner Dash" and the staff is on level one, scurrying like mad to deliver the goods. Will I come back? Yeah, because I'm cheap but I won't be coming back soon...sorry Norm's...

Your typical diner food. You get the most bang for your buck. Open 24 hrs. Tons of menu options that always go good with a "side of ranch."

I would say if I was a soccer mom driving some suv, w/ 4 kids, married to a large man with an even bigger beer belly, both of us as mexican as they get but our kids don't know a damn word of spanish.... this is the place I would take them for our family friday dinners.

This is a glorified Denny's.. Lenny's? The food may as well be on a conveyor belt that runs through the restaurant. The service was pretty quick, but everything was covered in mayo (gross) and the bread never came toasted. I think I'd have a totally different view of this place, had I been intoxicated at 3am, but I was with my parents at 3pm after a 4 hour car trip from Fresno. Needless to say, the quality of food and crowd left much to be desired, but the price and portions were above average. I don't see myself returning, but I have been to worse..

I'm giving it one star because I cant give less than that. This happened some time ago.

I wanted to love the place. It's 24 hours and its a nice environment.

The food was good tasting... Until I found  **WRITTEN PAPER** in my bread.

    You might be wondering... WTF???

That's exactly what I said. My best friend and I went for a late dinner and we ordered the same soup with bread as an appetizer. I ate most of my bread mixed with the soup so I didnt notice at first, but when my friend torn the bread to eat it, a piece of paper that was written on fell on his soup. His bread was the other half of mine, so when I observed mine, I also found pieces of paper that were inside the bread.

Now, please explain to me how you get paper with notes (blue ink too) inside your bread??

I told the manager and he offered us free ice cream, but I didn't want to find the pen in it, so we left disgusted.

SO. It might of been a one time thing. But it was one time too many for me.

My favorite part about this place is that on the west side of the building, facing the parking lot, is a neon sign saying WE NEVER CLOSE. Pretty much sounds like the motto for someone who hasn't slept in 43 hours and has had 18 cups of coffee...which is what most of the patrons look like :)

Classier than Denny's, better selection that IHOP, and, as the sign says, ALWAYS open (late nights, holidays, etc.).

IT IS ALWAYS PACKED! Ok now with that said I was there again this morning and OMG did I wish I could have had my phone on me to take a pic. of my FRENCH TOAST. PERFECT. Simply perfect, I don't know why all the other places can't get it right! The service is not the greatest because they are always busy but the servers def. do what they can to provide you with good customer service. The GUMBO soup is OFF THE CHARTS! I mean why the heck are there only 3 NORMS around the LA area???!! I love it love it here!!

When the area's thai places are closed, this is the obvious pick.  Unless, you want to continue your drunkass adventure... which I wouldn't recommend because this place is A-OK!

They have a long menu with a variety of foods.  I am an IHOP gal so I've always chosen that instead... however, norms is actually pretty good.  They give you tons of food.  My chicken things came with salad and soup.  The soup was soo good!  The chicken was tender and juicy.  My friend's meal (steak) even came with dessert!

Overall the food wasn't memorable but it sure was delicious as left overs.  I wouldn't bag on this place or these types of 24hr chains because they're not that bad actually!  Also, the service was top-notch!

This is so weird. I have only been here twice in my life and I only live just around the block for the past 15 years. My dad invited me to dinner and I can never turn down a free meal. I have known this place to be open 24/7 and always a loved spot even at 2am.

I arrived around 5:45pm to the Norm's parking lot and remembered that the Halloween Pumpkin Sale usually leases majority of the lot and then the Christmas Tree Sale in December. There is still plenty of parking even if they lease the lot.

My dad and were about to walk in and there was a homeless guy sitting in front asking for money. Its a good thing I didn't give him money because.....(I will tell you later in my story).

We sat in the closed section of the restaurant and THAT WAS GREAT. Our server was Mary. I ordered the Sirloin Steak & Eggs with Pancakes and my dad ordered, I believe it was called the Trio. Chicken with Soup, Salad AND Cheesecake. I don't remember what the price was, but will update this review with the prices. All I remember was that my dad got $1 and change back because of the $2 off coupon we got.

Our wait was about 10 minutes for our order. While we were waiting, two police officers came in to OUR closed section. lol. I feel much safer now, this going back to the homeless guy who probably amscrayed. Plus, I am a LAPD Foundation Member. Feel safe while eating.

We got our food and time to chow down. I started with my pancakes. The pancakes were much better than Denny's. It had a crunch to every bite and the butter almost made it seem like ice cream. For that price, it was probably better than the Lumberjack slam at Denny's. My dad was already full with his soup and salad and barely damaged his meal. He had to take his cheesecake home with his chicken strips and baked potato.

Ah, the meal was great, but I think I shall save this place instead of frequenting it every week. A couple times in the year should be good enough even when I just live around the corner. As we were about to leave, more LAPD Officers came by. Ah...I feel so safe. Unfortunately, no women in uniform...DAMN!!

Have Fun here and Keep Yelping!!

The service was fine and pleasant. The wait wasn't too bad, went there for a late breakfast. Once again I loooove breakfast, this would not be a place I'd come back to for blow my mind breakfast. It was just about the same quality as a Dennys. I had eggs, hash brown, toast, sausage, links and a sausage patty. The link, not sure what it was made out of but I didn't like it. Everything was good. My son had a quesadilla, how can you mess that up. With coffee and oj which btw is not freshly squeezed #FAIL!! It cost $21.40. I don't think a regular quesadilla should cost $7 cuz it didn't have anything special. I won't give it less than 3 stars becuase this was my 1st experience and it wasn't bad, it just wasn't great like all the hype I've been hearing.

This is my new breakfast date place when I have a Sat morning meeting in Van Nuys.  It's 100 times better than Denny's. The bacon is really yummy. (Don't get the sausage, it is nasty!)  My omlett was pretty good and i drank 4 cups of bland tasteless coffee which is better than no coffee ;)

We've picked up lunch here a few times. The food is okay. But seriously, the people who work here are friggin' idiots.

My co-worker and I always get the same thing: grilled ham + cheese with a side of french fries. Whenever I call in the order, I ask for the grilled cheese, please add ham.

Why WHY is it so hard for them to understand what I want? Just because it's not in the computer doesn't mean you can't do it.

It always turns into a HUGE DEAL. I have to repeat what I want a few times. Then I get told they don't have that. Then I say they just need to add ham. Then they say it's not in the computer. Then I say well I've had it before. Then I get put on hold. Until finally I can't take it anymore and ask for the manager.

Now when I call, I know to always ask for the manager first, since they seem to be the only ones who can figure it out.

Although, since I discovered the deliciousness of the Hungry Fox, we don't really come here anymore. Sorry Norms, you make my head hurt.

    Norms.

Since the explosion of corporate penny pinching ruined the likes of Denny's, good ol' Norms has become my last refuge in the category of 'Open-all-night-and-I-really-need pie / it's-1pm-and-I-need breakfast' establishments.

About the best thing I can say about Norms is that it doesn't really suck.  It's just kind of always there, ready to feed you with items that satisfy expectations- though only by a narrow margin.

My favorite item: the Soup, Salad and Dessert combo.  Genius, sheer genius.

Norm's is my fav diner. Its so much better than carrows, dennys or Ihop. There prices are GREAT and service is good. It's always open until late. I love there pancakes. I dont know what makes it different but it's really good. Usually for under $10 you get entree, appetizer of soup and salad plus dessert. Def my go to restaurant for late night eating.

I don't know why so many people love this place. Sure its hella cheap but the food is terrible, the meat is fatty and disgusting, the pancakes are alright, the hash browns have no flavor and the place is usually sticky and dirty.  It's always crowded and wait times during peak hours border from 30 minutes to an insane 2 hours!

I usually see a bunch of old folks at Norm's...that's probably why it's always so packed -- once your old, your taste buds must apparently go out the window.

Either that or you just don't give a damn anymore.

Stay away!! (unless you want a ton of crappy food at minimal cost)

    TASTYYY!!!
    A Breakfast for Champions.
Bacon cooked just right. Ham Perfected with a slight char to it. Sausage delish. Eggs with a lil buttery taste to em...and with onions mixed in.... it was GREAT.
Hash browns were a lil plain...But heyyy....everything else was so damn good I didn't even care. 2 HUGE pancakes is served with the "BIGGER, BETTER Breakfast" and believe me it is bigger and better than Denny's OR IHOP.
    The kicker is....It's $5.99
The deal ends at 2 p.m. Mon-Friday....so if you want this....go before 2

GREAT &  fast service...and what I really liked is the waitress puts the check on the table right when she drops off your food....so when your finished you don't have to wait around for some SLOW ass to bring your bill.

OPen 24 hours.....and the menu is HUGE....so so many different things to choose from...it's amazing how extensive their menu is

    HUGE parking lot

My first visit to a Norms Restaurant was in Van Nuys. We were working our way throughout the LA area. Our crew was so impressed with the service, the price, the quality and the variety of their food that we picked our motels by how close they were to a Norms Restaurant. At the time they only had 16 restaurants, and we actually ate at all of them.
From reading some of these reviews, I think Norms should put a sign over the door that says  " No Snivelers , go to Denny's ".

When ever our family visits the Norms area, you know where we will be eating !  Thank you Norms for holding the line !

    A Denny's on Steroids
Classic American Diner with Good Quality and Huge Portions.

Don't Usually go to Places like this often
Ie Denny's Ihop Swingers Ect Ect.
But I met someone here for lunch and was Surprised!
This Place was Packed and I Can see Why.
This Place Totally Blows IHop and Denny's out of the Water.
    This Place and the
Norm's Chain is Way Better than 95% of the Diners out there.

They are a So Cal Original and Have been doing things Same as it ever was here since 1949.
They have kept the Quirky Mid Century Decor Here which is nice and This Place Looked Very Clean.
They even Have A Open Kitchen With Professional Chefs in Uniforms here.
As Long as There is A Norms Nearby Hopefully I will Never Go To Denny's, IHop ect. Again.

    Score
    2.5 Stars for Food
+1 star for Atmosphere and Service
+ .50 Stars for Being a Original Same as it Ever Was kinda Place and a Local So Cal Chain
    Total Score 4 Stars
If you ever are thinking of going to a denny's or Ihop go to Norms Instead.

My friend Chris Chen and I can spend hours here and always try to get the best bang for our buck. They have great specials, mostly in relation to breakfast platters or steak combos. I love this place, just know that is a diner thus don't be excepting the best food, service or atmosphere. I mean where else can you get an entire meal (Soup, Salad, Main Course and dessert) for under $12?!

Not a place I would take a date to, because it would reveal your cheap and  you don't have great taste in food. However a good place to go when drunk, since they NEVER CLOSE as their sign says.
