Sooo, I decided to finally creep into this place considering the name and location I thought it would be filled with snotty and rude people who would look at me as if I didn't belong.  Yes, there were a few people who pranced around in their high heel boots but the majority of the people there seemed to be more concerned about shopping for the deals.

Organized store (the racks will state the name brand-but you still have to hunt and find the style/size), good items, and large shoe selection (BONUS!)

Why is it that there's a Nordstrom in Fresno, but the closest one to my house (Antioch) is like 40 miles away? There's definitely something wrong with this picture.

Saturday night. I dragged my cousin Marc into this store 30 minutes before closing. Harmless, right? That is until I showered him with questions like, "Does this tank top look like a rag?" or "What do you think of this dress?" or my favorite, "Which one do you like better, this one or this one?" He looked at me blankly with each question. Cousin, I must train you because one of these days when you're out with a lady friend, she too will interrogate you with nonsense questions about clothes. Believe it or not, your opinion counts!

I found this cute black thigh length cardigan for...get this: 6 bucks. And I wanted to find an oversized top to match with the sweater and some leggings. I gave my cousin one last shot: "This one or this one?" And he pointed to the one in my right hand. HE MADE A FASHION DECISION FOR ME! YESSS! I'm so proud of my cousin.

As for the store, it was a decent, middle of the road Rack. I was unimpressed by their selection of designer jeans. I was hoping to find some nice Sevens or True Religions to wear day-to-night, but came up short. You really have to keep your eyes peeled for the good sales. It took me almost 20 minutes to find that cardigan that I love.

It's where last seasons items go to die.

I have to say their shoe department was less than stellar. Lots of scuffed and discolored pieces. Not to mention the place is a disaster area. I usually find more shoes on the floor than on the racks.

The children's section is decent. And they cycle through new items pretty frequently. But their prices just aren't as discounted as what one might expect.

The checkout line is atrocious. 20 minutes in line is a little excessive.

I can only come here so often. It's nothing like SF but occasionally I'll find some cool shoes, not so much for guys shirts, pants, or jackets.

It's only for guys shoes and maybe if you're lucky, you'll buy three.

I'm not so sure about women's selection, but they do own more than 90%  of the entire store.

This place has a lot of the same stuff as Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshall's. I was just at TJ Maxx yesterday before coming to Nordstrom's today and saw many of the same shirts. (T.J. Maxx was priced cheaper, incidentally.) However, there's also a lot of stuff here that isn't found at those stores, so generally Nordstrom rack DOES have a better selection of "good" clothes.

I would call Nordstrom Rack a high end T.J. Maxx, honestly. It's better lit, more organized (mainly because there's a greater number of employees)  and higher-priced, even though they do have much of the same merchandise. However, the snooty people who wouldn't be caught dead in somewhere as "pedestrian" as T.J. Maxx feel secure here because "it's Nordstrom."

Anyway, this place isn't so bad. I'll come here every once in a while because there's almost always SOMETHING worth buying here. However, what I hate, is that there's ALWAYS a 10 minute minimum wait in line, because of incompetent cashiers and lack of foresight. Seriously, if there's 15 people in line, OPEN UP MORE THAN 2 REGISTERS, they're not there just for show! I swear to God, they must only use the rest on Black Friday or in the event of an apocalypse or something.

The other thing is, when you do finally get to the register, there's a 50/50 chance that your cashier will decide to be a dick today. Today, I got the dick. The guy just looked at me to signal to come over there, no "next in line, please," and when I said "hi" he mumbled something incoherently. Alright asshole, you wasted enough of my time in that line, at least YOU were getting paid during that time. The least you could do is act like a human fucking being. But no, this dude just goes about sleepwalking through his job.

That's not to say all the employees are bad. People at the dressing rooms are consistently friendly and helpful, and I have had unusually friendly cashiers here before. One time, I was buying  some dress shoes, pants, and a belt and the cashier asked if I was going to a wedding. I said no, just going out tonight. She complimented my taste and had a genuine conversation with me. I don't expect everybody to be that friendly, but seriously, when someone gives you about as much customer service as a toilet paper roll dispenser, you have a right to bitch.

So bottom line- if you're in a hurry and need to find something good quick, it's probably best to take a hit and come here. Otherwise, take your chances and rummage through Ross, Marshall's, and/or T.J. Maxx first.

This was a pretty clean store I might say...minus the annoying Fresno girls with big hair thinking they were shopping at a REAL Nordstrom store...lol

About the big haired Fresno girls, this story is super funny! I was there last Tuesday afternoon, yeah a TUESDAY afternoon. I was in Fresno visiting my parents and went here to get a simple blue tee for a work event that week ($6!) and as I went to the fitting room there were these 2 girls with huge teased hair like they were hittin' the club after in the fitting room. They were taking over the mirrors and showing off to everyone walking in what they were trying on....it was a show! They had their Juicy purses and everything. ugh!

My dad asked if they had a real Nordstrom in town and the guy workin there said no, the closest stores would be LA or San Jose. That sucks...

I found what I came in for, and then some. The store was clean, compared to the San Jose Rack store. The line got long on occasion but went down quickly.

It's actually the rack, but I love it here.

This is the first place we look when we go school clothes shopping for my 10 year old.  They have a lot of Roxy clothes for girls at a discounted price!

But they do have good stuff for everyone, but I would check out this place for your kids that want name brands, but you don't want to pay full price.

This is a pretty good shop where you can find some really good deals.  Sometimes it can be hit-or-miss, but I've found some really nice shirts marked down and shoes.

While it is a little on the small side, it's a good place to shop since it's fairly well organized and clean.

Apparently, Fresno is not good enough for a full fledged Nordstrom. So, their Outlet Store will have to suffice until then. The Rack's inventory and prices are hard to not love. It takes patience and multiple visits to get the right stuff, but if you are a bargain hunter and like higher quality clothing & shoes then it's worth the time.

The store is clean and easy to navigate. Shopping assistance for sizes or back stock is not available except in the shoes and suits areas.

I have to admit that when this store first open I HATED it with a passion. There was never anything good there and it was always dirty and messy like ross. However, in the past year I have been going there more often and found that it has vastly improved. I am not sure if they changed management or hired a better staff, but its much easier to shop in. AND, they have some great finds. Each time I go in I find at least 5 handbags to obsess over and if you have the time to spend looking through the clothing racks you can find some good designer stuff for a great price. Recently I found a very stylish L.A.M.B. tote that I love. Even the shoe section has some pretty good finds now. Side note: Go on Tuesdays if you can because that is when their new shipments come in and the displays for new arrivals are not as picked over.

I found the place pretty clean and organized, I must have gone early.  Went on  Thursday, around 4pm but a huge line of 20 people, so I put my three items back, didn't want to wait in that line.

If you can put up with some messiness, check out Nordstrom Rack, the place where castoffs from the upper-crust retailer find their last stop.  Some items are flagged as "from our stores", while some merchandise is sold ONLY at this discounted outlet and have never seen the light of full-flegged retail mark-up. Piles of shoes are thrown on metal racks, some distinctly shop-worn, others look brand new.  Look for the additional -off color codes.  I scored a pair of Born espadrille wedges for $8!  Sure, that was a fluke, but it happened!

i used to live in AK and they have a huge nordstrom over there. always wondered why they didn't have one here when i moved back. then i discovered nordstrom rack. it's kind of like ross or marshalls..

the first couple of times that i came here, i didn't find anything. there wasn't much good stuff, but over time they have improved. i don't come here as often, but when i do i manage to find some good stuff for a good price. their designer sun glasses are dirt cheap you just gotta look good for the nice ones. and shoes, dig deep kuz youll never know what you'll find! designer jeans at discount prices. and sometimes you'll find cute tops, but then you'd probably be able to find the same top or something very similar it at places like ross, marshalls, or dds discounts.

This is a fairly small Nordstrom Rack, but the last time I was there, the store was playing Yo La Tengo on the PA. So four stars just for the music choice.

I love this store because they sell name brand products for half the price most of the time. I found a Roxy snowboard jacket with a hood for $40 which should have been at least $80 somewhere else. I enjoy going there for sales and new products and recommend going here first before hitting the mall or any other name brand stores for sure!

I have been shopping at Nordstrom rack for as long as it has been open. The staff is usually very friendly, not snooty at all. I have found a few deals that I could never find at Ross/Marshals, usually which are messy and not organized, depending on their manager. They are usually friendly/helpful and courteous. I will not shop anywhere if the people are either rude and the store offers no incentives to shop there. I find items there I wouldn't find at Macy"s. It's always a shopping suprise. I've bought excellent hair products there as well. The checkout is organized and they are pleasent to deal with and they seem to remember their patrons.
