This one of the few places i shop for my perfumes and when i do they stock me up with a tons of goodies ;)
Thanks!!!!
First of all, I didn't buy anything here. The reason I walked into this store was because my shoes were killing me and I was trying to find a shoe stretcher. The lady at the counter said they didn't sell shoe stretchers but they will stretch my shoes. Ok, so I asked, "how much do you charge for that?". It turns out that it's a free service! Then I asked, "what if I didn't buy my shoes from this store?" It's still free! Wow, when I'm wealthy enough to shop at this store, I am going to buy one of their expensive pairs of loafers or something. They took my shoes and they were stretched free of charge. I picked them up the next day and on top of that, they never asked me at any point in time, whether I wanted to buy anything. No guilt tripping me into shelling out a few bucks for shoe laces or anything like that. Wow, what an awesome store!
I went here this past weekend in search of some shoes to wear to my birthday party that same evening. There were literally probably 50 sales people lingering around in the shoe section but they were about the farthest possible thing from attentive.
I picked up something I liked and had to practically wave it in the air while jumping and yelling, and try to make eye contact with an idle sales person in order to try it on. Finally, someone approached me.
He came back 5 minutes later saying they only have a 5 and a 10. My thoughts? Then basically take it off the floor. It's basically sales rack material now since those are extremely uncommon sizes.
Anyways, he just informed me of this lazily and then sauntered away. He didn't offer up any kind of assistance on helping me find something else or suggest the same style in another brand, etc.
So I pressed on by myself and found an almost identical shoe from another designer. Repeat process (waving shoe in air, jumping, etc). Except this time, the new sales rep said "Oh weren't you being helped by someone else before?"
My response was basically: "Well, if by helped you mean he checked on a size for me...yeah, but he wasn't really of any great assist..[cut off]"
Sales Guy: " Wait here"
Me: "But..but...[sales guy already disappeared with no explanation]"
[Enter former sales guy]
At this point I'm thinking, "Ugh not you again."
Long story short the exact same thing happened again except I had an extra few minutes wasted while they played some stupid internal politicking game about not stealing anotha dudz sale.
I promptly left and went to Bloomingdale's where I got all the attention I deserve and they got my hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Beautiful.
Nordstrom, you need some serious, serious customer service training, because you aren't cheap. For those prices, I want some damn help!
Mamma didn't raise no fool....at least when it comes to shopping.
Growing up, my wardrobe consisted of hand-me downs from my younger cousin (sad but true) and a trip or two to Deb, Madigan's and Weibold's. Even as a teenager, I was forced to wait until the cool clothes were on sale. Of course, by then, they were out of style and I retained my position in the world of dorkdom.
Even to this day, finding the best deal is always in the forefront of my mind. The thought of paying over 25 bucks for a pair of jeans was just not in my vocabulary. Also, I have a short attention span and tolerance for shopping so digging through racks upon racks of clothing at a Marshall's or a TJMaxx is just not an option for me.
Enter Nordstrom's. Yes, you read that right, Nordstrom's. Due to childhood issues that I apparently need to resolve, I'm lucky to have my therapist situated near this particular location. It's shortly after Christmas and I thought I would see if Nordy's was having any sales. Lo and behold, they were!! I found designer jeans for almost half the retail price. In fact, I even scored a pair for 20 bucks that were headed to The Rack.
I thought, this must be a fluke! But tis not a fluke. The sale rack seems to be permanent fixture. So now, after every therapy session, I head to Nordstrom's to score designer clothes not at a designer price. So, if you see me out and about, with a bit more swagger in my step, its because, for the first time in my life, I'm wearing what the cool kids are wearing...or something like that.
Nordstrom has the BEST customer service EVER. They have always been accomdating with price adjustments, price matching, locating items, and returns.
The selection is great, the anniversary sale is even better, and it's just a good place to shop for things you may or may not be looking for.

Nordstrom is what other department stores wishes they could be. Since the beginning Nordstrom has been all about service. They have the best selection of menswear anywhere and their sales can't be beat. The store itself is always clean, well appointed and brightly lit. It's a pleasure to shop there.
